  1. Not too surprised by the Justice League or Larson looping rides, though its refreshing to see Great Escape get some love. The ride packages for the Texas parks, La Ronde, and SFoG looks nice, maybe SFMM could get something like that eventually. Speaking of which, I imagine enthusiasts are pretty excited for Revolution getting some TLC. I'm excited to see how much of its full potential they can get back. Roar's RMC-ing was pretty obvious, and with NJFTP's addition, I'm a little surprised at the lack of coasters added. Makes me glad SIX knows to focus on other areas.
  2. Its also odd they didn't wait until the Six Flags announcements to write this.
  3. Man...we're kind of bad at honoring the 11th Commandment.
  4. One thing I wish AE did after that last tunnel is instead of going back the station immediately, that it would have some sort of crazy fast layout before the brakes, kind of like BBW's layout after its 2nd lift.
  5. I remember those effects well. Scared the crap out of me back before I began to like coasters.
  6. ^But not everyone at the park is on the meal plan. In fact, I'd guess a majority of guests are paying at the stands.
  7. ^I don't think it was completely re-tracked, but I know most of it has been, particularly the series of drops after the 2nd tunnel and the helix. I think parts of it between the first drop and the brake shed were as well.
  8. ^^Just because you felt that way doesn't mean everyone else does. Everyone is different, and I think The Beast is fine at being a quality coaster a lot of people can enjoy. I know and have seen people excited to ride Beast for the first time, I've seen it scare some people (including yours truly back in my early visits to KI), I've seen people start off scared and found it amazing, and I've seen people unimpressed by it, either by its rough edges or the way its drawn out in spots. You can't go off your own perception as being the perception of every person. BTW, its just been re-tracked over the last 5-7 years (I think it was either GCI or done in-house) and most here would agree its running the best its ever had since that work has been done.
  9. Even if Beast were taken down, that land would be a terrible place to expand the park's paths. The terrain is much too steep and hilly.
  10. I haven't any problems with Frisch's as is and I enjoy their breakfast and a Big Boy every now and then, plus their hot fudge cake is out of this world, but I agree they could use more variety on the menu. I am happy they are looking at switching back to Coke though. They offer flavored soft drinks, and they taste way too sweet with Pepsi products.
  11. ^And one of my favorite racing coasters, 2nd only to Lightning Racer.
  12. I got bored today and decided for a trip up to ye olde Kings Mills this evening. In realizing I'll only be able to go to the park until early November before my year and a half hiatus, I'm gonna make the most of it (including a planned trip to the Haunt and going closing day). It turned to be a great night. Aside from the slow moving Diamondback crew, nothing was more than 15 minutes, but that was only for Backlot and Flight of Fear. Everything else was either a single cycle wait (Drop Tower and Delirium) or walk on. In light of people here making me lose sleep over Racer's false removal, I got plenty of rides on her tonight, including one where I left the bar up that one extra click and boy was it awesome! Banshee crew was really, really hyper tonight which made things very annoying. And to top it off, I got a gorgeous Beast full moon night ride. The air is starting to turn more crisp and cool in the evening, which I simply love on a Beast night excursion, and that full moon bathing the track in this ominous white light was just perfect. Autumn is my absolute favorite time to ride Beast. I'm also baffled that there were Fast Lane purchases tonight. Just....why?
  13. Backlot didn't have all its special effects running tonight either. There were also random people in the International Restaurant just before the fireworks.
  14. ^Judging by your post, I don't think you're aware of the fact that Kings Island had that show for the last 2 years, and trust me, we're fully aware its at Carowinds next season. We've a small fan club for that show 'round these parts. silver2005, who's indulged in just over a dozen showings of Cirque Imagine.
  15. I wouldn't expect KI to get a front gate coaster anyhow, mainly as there are too many buildings to go around and having a coaster go into the eyesore that would be the employee area. I do think the front gate could use a bit of a face lift though. Nothing too drastic, but something slightly more modernized.
  16. I have a question concerning this- why were Flight of Fear's trains reduced from 6 cars to 5 cars?
  17. Ed Hart should take up acting with his role playing in writing all these articles.
  18. ^,^^ Those reasons and more are why teachers and college professors won't accept papers with Wikipedia as a source.
  19. They could take a page from the Reds as well. They always find ways to improve the ballpark experience every year, and an emphasis of that is improving the food, much of which wouldn't be that foreign to an amusement park environment. I don't mind paying the extra money at the Reds game to eat there.
  20. Well, we know that B&M will do launches on their rides now, maybe a B&M Volcano style ride?
  21. I'm curious as to what layout they had planned if any. The Swan Lake area wouldn't have supported that big a coaster on its own, let alone an extensive terrain coaster. In 1992, it was pretty land locked surrounded by Antique Cars, Vortex, KCKC, and other major Rivertown paths and buildings. Diamondback has sheer size that lets it do what it does and no KCKC to block it.
  22. The 80s store was moved to the other side of I-Street next to LaRosa's.
