McSalsa's Coaster Adventures: First Haunt (KI 10/16/2010)
IndyGuy4KI replied to McSalsa's topic in Trip Reports
You went last Friday and didn't stop by to see Sam the Butcher? How dare you! We did not do any haunts. It was our first trip without the kids and my wife wanted to ride rides. Otherwise I would have been there, sorry gator, did not meant to hurt your feelings! : ) -

The wife and I rode it 2 times last Friday and it was great! Thanks for the PTR McSalsa! -
I started to reply to this and welcome you to KIC since this was your first post, but noticed that you have been a member for almost a year. So I guess I will say happy first post!

Looking in the bottom of the mug, after the last tea is drunk (yum, tea)...sand..dusky... And how ironic, given Terp's love for great adventures, that the person who identified Maple Grove for the forii was Jackson! 18? Mm.... What is the reason you call it Maple Grove Terp?

Should KI and Cedar Fair Discontinue Halloween Haunt?
IndyGuy4KI replied to RaptorGuy's topic in Kings Island
I would like to know the main draw for the GP to Haunt. What do you think? These are multiple guess in no particular order. Haunt attractions End of season and last time to ride Temperature change Better marketing by CF I remember going to haunt in the PKI days and loving it mostly to low crowds! That is not been the case over the past several seasons. -
I agree with Adam. I also want to add seeing the fall trees changing colors on DB and Beast top it off as well!
-
Oh please, up to this point I think HPB has been proven sucessfull and everyones worries proven wrong, fan of the show or not.

If and when a decision is made do you think it will even get a press release? Let's say the decision was already made. We have heard nothing from the park as of yet. Indyguy, just wondering.

Awesome, glad you enjoyed it. I have yet to have a night ride on Beast this season. Hope to make it there next weekend. Thanks for the TR. -

That was my thoughts Dave. It seems to me Kats first objective was to save the coaster from demo. Second, create a way to raise funds to start the move of the coaster with the site. Now she can start working on what should have been suggestions not criticisms that have been made. This is going to be a learning experience for all involved, it is not like enthusiasts move coasters all the time. Good luck Kat! -

I can not believe a smaller park was not interested in the ride. Seems it would be a great honor to have a John Miller in your line up of coasters. -

And the. Com site is very hard to read and use. Hats off to our very own Kat for taking on this major project. I hope to ride it for the the first time some day will the help of all of us enthusiasts. -
KI did not get much of this story on their website. Very cool for them to receive the award! http://www.pulsejour...ber-967770.html

I see Halloween time as an opportunity to enjoy/ role-play/ experience something that cannot be experienced during any other time of year. Can that be considered a double standard? Sure. Is it acceptable in July? No. Is it acceptable in October, IMO I don't see why not. I agree Brown, I have not made it to the park yet this month, but from what I have been hearing from KIC'ers at haunt so far is things like park is packed, Beast queue totally full, busy place but worth it. KI reports standing room only for HPB show the other night. It sounds like KI has a winner and it seems it is just some enthusiasts that are having issues with things, but not the GP or it would not be so successful! I do understand markr's concern about the safety, hopefully his concern will not be a real issue.

At least there is more than six flags up there. Indyguy, who now looks for those types of funnies at the parks.

Several Updates to FansofKIEntertainment.com
IndyGuy4KI replied to Kirk Sheppard's topic in Kings Island
Awesome pic Kirk, thanks for sharing. Keep them coming! I now want to go see some of these shows which I had no interest in seeing before! -
Some have been more vocal than others and feel stronger about their opinions, but don't feel anyone is fighting over this. If you want to see a fight go watch the midgets bleed. I for one will probably not be watching, but I am also not going to let that ruin my fun at KI with other attractions and rides either! Everyone has their opinions and ideas just like me, for that I will respect you even if I don't agree!
-
I like this plan Gordon! I can not believe we have almost 20 pages and close to 300 posts with a lot of those posts being complaints about an event that has not had one show yet. I do respect peoples opinions, but I do believe that a lot of these are premature and don't think anyone can form a true opinion until they have seen the show and have seen the crowd types that show up. I for one have no interest in seeing a midget bleed, but it is not going to stop me from going to KI, slow down my love for the park, or my support for the park. I sort of thought that was one of the purposes of KIC? People who come together to show support for a park that they love and cherish even if they make or made a bad choice. I believe this was KI thinking outside the normal entertainment realm and sort of put things on the line to bring in different entertainment for the guests. For that I have to applaud them even if I am or am not in favor of the event personally. I will wait to form my opinion on this situation once we have seen how things go and how the park reacts to them.

Did you see it spinning on the way up? That would help answer the question!

I do the same thing, for that is how we roll!

While not speaking directly to the Six Flags scenario, I actually beleive that cutting out layers of management can be a good thing. What is critical to do, however, is make sure that this pushes both the Responsibility AND Accountability down to the right level and get real clear about who owns what. If done correctly, it can be empowering for the employee, can simplify things (like decision making), and be a positive for company and customer. Oh I agree as well, but it seems they might be cutting a little to much and relying on less experienced people to run the park. I Hope I am wrong!

OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
IndyGuy4KI replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Sounds like it's fate is written in stone! : ) -
I would be willing to bet the same reason the rest of us are obsessed with roller coasters! I think it is great we have a member that posts about KI E! Something a lot of us don't enjoy as much, but really should be included at KIC. Since after all this site is about KI!
