  2. Knotts is pretty close to going all around.
  3. My wife and I did that when we went to Hershey last year. Worked out nice and got to try out a few different meals there. They have a ways to go to get where CF is at with food these days.
  4. I would love to see a "Major Subs" come to the 2 Subway locations.
  5. Did you visit Kings Island in its early years? Did you take pictures and are in an old shoe box or photo album collecting dust? Well, Kings Island and Kings Island Central need your help! Kings Island celebrates its 50th anniversary this season and is asking everyone to find pictures or videos of their family’s special moments at the park. The park would like to tell those stories this coming season. Memories can be uploaded on Kings Islands site here: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/50th-anniversary/share-your-memories Kings Island Central has been collecting historical photos for its vast historical galleries since the websites conception in 2003. When you upload your phots on the Kings Island website, head to the KIC upload page and donate your photos to add to the huge photo gallery as well. https://kicentral.com/kic-photo-submission/ Kings Island and Kings Island Central appreciate your donation of your Kings Island family memories!
  6. The removal of Steel vengeance and Maverick are disappointing, but are you saying if it's not an Intamin or a RMC it's not worth the effort? Most GP run to those two coasters at the beginning of the day. It seems you could get the two B&Ms in the front of the park ridden so you can focus on the back of the park.
  7. Now you have the linked thread in my post to prove it.
  8. I am not sure if we will ever see anything to the degree of Extreme Midget Wresting (Sorry for not being PC, but that is what they call it and still do!) https://extrememidgetwrestling.com/
  9. As Kings Island is gearing up for the 50th anniversary season in 2022, the live entertainment department is no exception! After Kings Island's hiring event for the rest of the park's positions, they are now focusing on hiring performers and actors for the entertainment department. This could be your big break into the entertainment industry. Carmen Electra began her career as an entertainer at Kings Island. In 1990 she was a dancer in a popular show called, “It’s Magic.” She then gained fame for her appearances on the MTV game show Singled Out, on the television series Baywatch, and for her roles in the parody films Scary Movie, Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans. (Details) If you have a voice, have some moves and love to entertain, then this might be a great fit for you! See additional details in the flyer below! Kings Island Central is looing forward to seeing the entertainment selection Kings Island has in store for its 50th anniversary season in 2022!
  10. I love your enthusiasm Coaster Sally that CF is going to work with Intamin again. The evidence does not seem to support that though. WT just left, and TTD is SBNO for 2022. I would say they might be moving further away from them. Hopefully they prove me wrong for your sake though.
  11. Kings Island Central has been abuzz about all the improvements Kings Island has been doing for their 50th anniversary season in 2022. To say we are just sightly happy and somewhat excited would be an understatement. KIC keeps a detailed timeline of park history (click here to start in 1969) and the list of items for the 2022 season continues to grow, and we are still 2 months away to opening day on April 16th. Before the season ended in 2021 KIC members noticed that the band organ has been totally removed from the ride. We learned in December that Kings Island was having the Wurlitzer #157 Organ restored. Details The Wurlitzer Duplex Orchestral Military Band Organ Style #157 was built in 1918 and was originally used on a carousel at Ocean Grove, New Jersey. It was purchased in 1964 by Paul Eakins and completely restored. It was then placed on PTC #79 when it was moved from Coney Island to Kings Island. It is hard to believe when seeing it on the ride, but the organ stands nearly 8 1/2 feet tall, over 12 feet wide and nearly four feet deep. On Feb 24th the park revealed that they were restoring the Grand Carousel along with the other exciting improvements for the 2022 season. The Grand Carousel opened in 1926. The carousel has 48 hand-carved horses, of those, 28 move up and down. We learned on the KIBlog that the All Around Carousels, LTD has been on site at Kings Island restoring the carousel horses and chariots. They have been busy sanding, cleaning, cutting out bad joints, repairing hoofs and tails, replacing jewels, touching up paint and varnishing to restore the ride and make it look new once again. Kings Island Central is very excited to see the PTC Grand Counsel when the park opens for its 50th Anniversary season in 2022 on April 16th. We apricate all that Cedar Fair has been doing to keep Kings Island looking great. All Around Carousels, LTD in action:
  12. Someone who volunteered to work on it, but not a full restore.
  13. I wonder if they will replace all of them with the Vintage LED bulbs? Something like this: Source: https://d114hh0cykhyb0.cloudfront.net/images/uploads/led-vintage-light-bulb-st18-filament-socket.jpg
  14. With the 50th anniversary coming up, we need to update the main pages current remnants page. It has not been updated in some time, and either needs removed or updated. I want this to be the members site, so we will use this thread to allow KIC members to post what they see for this year, and I will update that page on the main site. For it to be added to the main site's page, please provide a pic of what you see and we will use that as the resource for the new entry. We can also validate old entries or prove them inaccurate at this point. Lets have fun with this! https://kicentral.com/parkhistory/historical-facts/current-remnants-of-past-attractions/
  15. Got yours in 4. Considering I had never played, and did not know what the colors meant until after the fact I was pretty happy with my guessing.
  16. This was a cool piece of history @DonHelbigshared on Twitter. My question: why did you take it out of your car and bring it into your office after all this time?
  17. The number of people who had issues beg to differ. It is a little rude to totally dismiss all of them. I did everything you suggested and more. I never got the button to purchase the tickets. It could have been a certain version of a browser that the people with issues had that never allowed the button to show or just how the page updated as Malem mentioned before.
  18. I had the same exact issue. Tried 2 different browsers and never got the box to come up. I am happy for who got the tickets, but so frustrating for those of us who planned it out and be in front of the computers at the correct time. There were lots of others who had the same issue.
  19. Thanks, it was a fun episode to record.
  20. Host Robbie Zerhusen (CoastersRZ) is joined by Brad Perdue (IndyGuy4KI) on episode 20 of the KICentral Podcast. On this episode, we have special guest, Brian Kosmac from Gravity Group. You may have seen Brian as an employee at Kings Island in the past. After joining the Gravity Group, he is the engineer who worked on The Racer and working on The Beast track work for the 2022 season. Brian was a guest speaker at Coasterstock in 2021 talking about the track work for The Racer. In this episode we talk to Brian about his and Gravity Group's work on the following: The Racer track work in 2021. Their manufactured prefab track and its advantages. How they use todays technology to improve a classic John Allen coaster. Deep dive into the work they are doing for The Beast for 2022. The change in the first drop Angle change on the turn. Discuss why the track before the brake run will be raised by approximately four feet. Discuss the changes on the helix. Learn more about The Gravity Group here: https://thegravitygroup.com/ Enjoy! 21. Was the VIP lounge at CP used enough to be worth the investment for KI? I never really saw it used much on my trips up there.
  22. Don't forget, if you are researching past rides you are already on a site with lots of information. https://kicentral.com/parkhistory/past-attractions/scoobys-ghoster-coaster/
  23. Maybe it will be a Anniversary parade instead?
  24. And all the dads can no longer have children afterward riding it with their kids.
