  1. While I understand your point, if that were the case, they would have simply increased the rates of daily admission and season passes as a way to limit attendance. The costs of these items have not kept up with inflation, increased staffing pay, etc. and is priced well under the value it offers. Increase the price of everything and give everyone the same experience. But oh wait before Covid thru a curve to everything, Disney was employing that concept as a way to control attendance and attendance records kept getting broken. They attributed the increased attendance even though higher prices had a psychological effect of being more exclusive and more for the rich, so it encouraged even more people to go so they could brag that they could still afford Disney to the friends and neighbors... Now as it relates to CF, they have proven (short term obviously post-covid) that they can have lower attendance like was seen in 2022, yet have record profits. While 2022 attendance was down 4% compared to pre-covid 2019, full year 2022 revenue was up 23% compared to pre-covid 2019, thus proving you don't have to give away the gate and have increased attendance every year and can still produce record revenue... As much as many hate to see it, I suspect until the tide turns, we will continue to see upcharge premium offerings as it is a way to increase per-cap spending for those already in the park or as in incentive to purchase premium offerings. The problem they have to solve is where is that balance. If for every guest that says "screw this" and doesn't come back because they had a horrible experience standing in the regular line and saw the same person in FastLane lap them 25 times before they rode it, there are 4 guests that buy the upcharge, things won't change. It will change when "regular" and "premium" guests attendance and spending go down. I really thought we would see that at Cedar Point, but people keep going. Last year more than ever they seemed to get slammed on social media for long wait times (regular and Fast Lane), many rides not running, few food places open, etc. and yet people still go up there like it is a premium experience. Even having Fast Lane up there is a not enjoyable experience at the moment.
  2. They do not publish those. Every once in a while you will see them post a yearly total, but I think it has been several years since they have done that.
  3. They did that with the Prestige pass and then pulled the ole "bait and switch", thus ticking off their highest spending guests, many of which have every possible season-pass add-on and buy extra food and merch on many visits and certainly drove up the per cap numbers. So what happens when they tick off the regular guest and the highest spending guests....
  4. Now remember they say that the FastLane doesn't increase your wait time as those people would have already been in line blah blah blah....maybe it it were a one and done Fast Lane, but with the current approach, you can see the same group marathon 15-20 times before you get on. And what you visibly saw once into the station of having to wait an additional one or two more cycles was happening the ENTIRE time you were in line... Look at Dragster where they ran one loading station for FastLane and the other for the regular line. You cannot tell me that doesn't increase your wait time...
  5. Totally agree. It should have been a wristband or lanyard that gets a hole punched when you completed a ride. So one front of the line per FL ride. Just think they could make more money because inevitably someone would just purchase another wristband/lanyard when they used up the first one LOL. Now we all know what will happen. On the busy Saturday when FastLane has been "sold out" we will see them selling these single use FastLane passes.
  6. Sorry for double post but it appears a vote happens next month https://local12.com/sports/content/deal-move-western-southern-open-tournament-mason-ohio-lindner-tennis-center-face-first-vote-charlotte-cincinnati-beemok#
  7. ^They had free lockers inside the VIP last year, so adding ones as a rental now would be an even bigger bait and switch insult to then charge for them.
  8. Gotta increase the per cap spending and these are quick ways to do it. They do have paper maps kinda...for the food locations as that increase per cap spending LOL
  9. The final lift hill today had it all working except for the heat at the crest of the hill. But maybe it didn't work the next cycle or tomorrow LOL.
  10. Today's version of VIP gets you not 2, but 1 cooler. Infused cooler water hasn't made an appearance lol.
  11. These aren't the drones you're looking for
  12. They have listened to your concerns since the EXIT ONLY signage wasn't enough to stop people, they posted these at eye level exit points (but doesn't solve your example of the places that are easier to bypass) that people will ignore as well...
  13. No they have not.
  14. Orion is cycling, so that is a good sign.
  15. Of course opening year will make it look like it was a bad decision, but it will be the lines the following years that determine if this was a short-sided mistake. There are reasons for the decision. Either they felt like the close proximity to other rides and it wasn't needed or they couldn't get their hands on the 48 seater in time or any other reason. Or maybe this off-season the 48 seater shows up here and the 24 seater shows up in Planet Snoopy or another park LOL. I don't buy the prolonged economic slump theory though and I don't think financial reasons drove the decision for the 24 seater. Remember 2022 was a record year for Cedar Fair. And 20 and 21 were not the doom & gloom post covid that many thought it would be - for many indicators they were record setting components. Remember that during Winterfest 21 (and offseason 21/22) that Slingshot was being repainted with the idea that it would open in 2022 and for many years thereafter. Then Slingshot disappeared a few weeks into the 2022 operating schedule. So these rides were a "last minute" decision being made knowing that they more than recovered from the Covid year and the outlook was looking great for the parks.
  16. PSA - in addition to the usual rides being down, Orion will not be going today. Also more rides than normal seem to be going down making the waits for what is open longer.
  17. Painting stripes in the lot
  18. Yep, same with posting when are good days to go due to light crowds LOL - guess what those days soon become not light crowd days LOL. Or all the Prestige saying it is working at other parks with Prestige when the language says otherwise. We know the park is screwing over those with Prestige LOL and they will close that loophole up LOL. The list goes on and on of these "hacks" for the very reason you point out!
  19. I will go with May 27th for the barrels and AE and June 9th for Sol Spin to open.
  20. Yep lol. Slept in and came in later lol.
  21. Who can't get enough and is returning tomorrow LOL?
  22. They still have time to weather it lol
  23. You should have said it was for speeding lol
  24. Whoever told you that must not read this thread and see people complaining about concrete stain, roof shingles, and the color of the sky not blue enough Tough crowd the internet is and someone won't be pleased...
  25. I think it was stained/painted. If it were cut out and replaced with colored concrete, the pigments are added to the concrete mix prior to placement so that the color goes all the way through. Here is the new break point between the two and you can clearly see the color is not all the way through the concrete...
