I know the likelihood is slim to none, but it would be nice if they would do some kind of "farewell tour". Set a date and maybe 5-6 hours of time to allow people to say their goodbyes, get photos/videos, etc. Especially since this wasn't exactly a "planned" closure for the public (much like in the fashion of some other Ohio parks). Good luck @beastfan11 hopefully one or both of us can find a way to make it happen

Ok so hear me out.... I currently live about 10 minutes away from Coney. I want to be able to gain permission to take pictures of everything before it's gone forever. Not only for my own personal passion project as a lover of parks and coasters, but to be able to have them for posterity. Granted yes, there are many many many other photos out there in existence of Coney, I feel being able to get them in her final moments of existence would be an amazing opportunity. I took a shot in the dark and emailed the park a few days ago. Of course, no reply yet. Honestly not sure if I will get a reply at all as I am sure their inbox is overflowing with an endless amount of angry, sad, resentful words. Not sure if this can be a possibility at all. I would love the honor to be able to. Not even really sure if there is anyone else I could talk to/ask about it. Worth a shot.

I was literally just about to say the same thing. I really dig the way that one looks.

Personally I didn't care that it was an upcharge attraction. That didn't bother me as I am a 1-2X a year Skyflyer rider and I don't mind paying $10 to do it. My issue with Slingshot was that it just wasn't all that fun. I did it 3X with different friends and each time I can say the ONLY fun part of it to me was the anticipation towards the launch. That part was fun, but bouncing around inside the ball was super uncomfortable. It reminded me of breaking horses to ride-as if it were trying to buck you off. Incredibly not-fun. At least when breaking a horse to ride I had the satisfaction of having a soft-furry friend to pet and condition which was rewarding. This....not so much. Seeing it gone did not make me sad and with it being replaced with a mini-themed area and two flat rides, Sol Spin being a favorite now, I was not at all sad for losing Slingshot.

Please do! We are coffee lovers in our home and we saw this and wondered if it would be any good. Figured the price would be a bit high, but for a novelty coffee experience that seems to be expected.

Had a fantastic time this past Friday 12/1. The rain seemed to keep the crowds away and it was perfectly foggy the rest of the night. Mild temps and low crowds=perfection. My fiancé and I felt that they really improved with the whole vibe compared to last year. It just felt more alive, staff seemed more into the antics and the overall attention to detail was noticed. Had a great ride on Mystic and Sol Spin for some reason feels more intense in the cold ( in a good way, its hard to explain ). Other than those two rides, I was more focused the other aspects of the event. Looking forward to going back!

Fiancé' and I are pretty stoked to give this a try. Little things like these make events like this just a little extra fun and magical. Now question for those of you who already gave it a whirl last weekend, how well do these things work if there are multiple wands in an interactive zone? And also, do they have any kind of independent functionality outside of the park? Like can you trigger any actions from it at home? Just curious.

Nope. I find the seats perfectly fine. Their more rigid posture request makes sense for the kind of ride that it gives. So its not a bother for me.

Indianan Beach To Add 2 Rides for 2021
DJSkyFoxx replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm sure this has been a point of frustration for those looking forward to riding this and the constant delays in opening it. I for one am glad they have been taking their time with getting it right because no one wants a lethal or potentially lethal accident to occur on this coaster since it already has a past. I'm sure they got way in over their heads with the amount of rehab this coaster needed, but good to see they finally got a POV uploaded. I will say that I wish they had just done a traditional POV instead of whatever this fish-eye/360 degree garbage this is. -
I will say again, I truly do not understand how the heck "pass perks" work. It should be a simply, clearly laid out process by which you are rewarded for your visits as they state for passholders. But I have heard time and time again by so many on various forums saying they have visited a great many times over the season and didn't receive one single perk while someone who maybe visited twice got a perk. It almost seems as if the computer in charge is just randomly giving perks out vs actually rewarding folks. Please, for the love of whatever higher power there is, please implement a rewards system that actually makes sense and preferably one with an actual interactive part of the app where you can see a meter or some visual representation of what you've earned and what exactly each earning category gets you. Like 1 visit=100 points or something like that. I've said something pretty verbatim before on another thread and it is definitely worth saying again.

The Prestige Pass has already taken many for a "ride". Might as well make it an actual enjoyable one

You jest, however I have personally experienced them stopping the carousal for someone taking their phone out just this past summer! Ride-op literally cleared it for start up and literally stopped it within a couple of seconds because a lady took her phone out to take a picture/video of her child. Ride-op spoke to the woman, warned her, let her take the photo and resumed the operation of the ride. It was all pretty wild to say the least.

Did the Coney Island Nights of Lights last night and enjoyed it, however it just made me more excited for Winterfest!
-
I know they would probably never do this, but I kinda wish that they would do what the Fountain Square ice rink in Cincinnati would do where they have one half of the rink for skaters and the other half has bumper boats made to skirt along the ice. I think that would be really fun and would give more options to folks who may not want to be on ice skates but still want to participate with a fun activity on the ice. Offer a single deal ticket for one or the other or a double deal ticket to do both.

After seeing the official line up of rides announced to run during WF, I am both happy and shocked that Sol Spin will be operating. I love that ride, but I was honestly wondering if it would be able to run in the winter with the exposed hydraulic lines. I will be happy to get some more rides on it before the year is over!
-
I hope they list any possible new or special food offerings soon. Also, I know the meal plan is still valid. This is actually my first season having the meal plan in years and my first time having the meal plan while Winterfest is going on, so what kind of food offerings are available? I know not all of the restaurants are open during Winterfest, but which ones typically are? And will Cinnabon/funnel cakes be available too? You'd think I would know all of this seeing as this isn't my first year going to Winterfest, but I never really paid much attention to food offerings before seeing as I didn't have a meal plan previously in recent times. TYIA.

I truly do not want to see any of our original rides get the DC treatment/overused SIX IP's such as... Banshee=Batman: The Ride The Bat=Ninja Drop Tower=Superman: Ultimate Escape/Tower of Power Invertigo=Two Face: The Flip Side Delirium=Wonder Woman's Lasso/Whatever other SIX IP name unrelated to DC Congo Falls=Aquaman Power Splash Yeah you get my point. I am in the camp of not wanting to see a copy/paste "make-over" While I am all for Action Zone getting a retheme or at the very least a face-lift, I'd rather the area get rethemed to something more original. I once saw someone suggest the idea for "Cryptid Creek" and I thought that was a neat idea for the area seeing as there are already two spooky rides and I think that would be so much cooler/unique than something you can experience in any of SIX's properties.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
DJSkyFoxx replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Yeah I was thinking that very same thought. Going forward I wonder what the pass structure will be, cost and how add-ons will look. If there will be a seperate "all CF passport, all SIX passport or combined passport" type structure. I have sooooo many questions that I know cannot be answered at this time because unfortunately this is fresh news and only time will tell with how things play out and look. Ooof. -
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
DJSkyFoxx replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
As someone who always tries to be optimistic in cloudy situations, this is one I simply CANNOT feel optimistic about. I have never been a fan of SIX and their way of running their parks. Too shady and too greedy. Granted my experience as a guest on their properties is limited, I don't have a lot of great memories as a whole. And from what others have said throughout the various park pages I follow, I haven't heard very many good things from folks when it comes to SIX parks and their experiences with their properties. I get that at the end of the day, business is business and these two companies are always going to be about the bottom line/dollar, but this is a sad sad day for myself and many others. I really do hope that good things will emerge from this, I truly do, But I fear this situation is going to end up in many parks getting dumped off on the side of the road GL, KK and SFNO style. Maybe that is a dramatic reaction, but seeing as how SIX seems to dump properties like kittens at a pound...I cannot help but be scared of what they might have the power to do in this situation. I get it, they don't own the entire merger, but depending on how the lead heads in charge duke it out...well...we will see. I am sad. That is all I can say. -
This may not be so much of a wish list of improvements so much as an event thought. In much of the same fashion that Cedar Point has Winter Chillout, I think it would be really neat if they held a similar event at Kings Island. I think it would be really neat to experience the park during the off season and get more in-depth behind the scenes looks at things one normally wouldn't get to see. I know WCO up at the Point is a big deal, so much so that they decided to do a ticket draw last season and I imagine a similar event at KI would also be a huge success as well.

Honestly this looks like it was too much fun. Wish I could have experienced that! I know it would never happen, but too bad they can't recreate something like this over in Soak City. Call it Snow City lol

Improve one coaster without altering the layout
DJSkyFoxx replied to SonofBaconator's topic in KI Polls
The Bat -Bring back the fog machines that it had while operating as Top Gun, but have them placed throughout the layout to give the ride a more ethereal, creepy vibe -Add some spooky music -Extend the tombstones and gothic theming from Banshee to the area. There is soooo much unused space that could benefit from some relatively inexpensive décor -Make the station feel more like a cave Flight of Fear -New trains please. Those more open-air styled ones that Premier has now I think would really give this a more "flighty" sensation than the bulky old ones it currently has -Reprofile the track! Not sure how much longer this coaster will be around, but if they intend on keeping it, a full reprofiling would do wonders for the ride quality Backlot Stunt Coaster -Anything, literally ANYTHING to improve this ride. Again, if they plan on keeping it around awhile longer, this is yet another old Premier coaster that could greatly benefit from better trains and reprofiling. Not to mention any inkling of theming that it has left is just watered down and a shadow of its former self. I honestly don't think any real investments will be made to this ride TBH though. I truly foresee it operating in it's current state until it meets the scrapyard for another family-style replacement of hopeful better quality. Until then, I repeat ANYTHING for this coaster would be an improvement at this juncture. That's about all I can think of at this time. Sure, a little more theming here and there for Diamondback would be cool but overall I don't feel any of the other coasters need much. They're great as they are. -
I selected "other". My reason being, I would like to see more public operating days/hours during the fall. I enjoy Winterfest, but I see no need for it to be extended past New Years Eve. The idea of an earlier opening in the spring would, in theory, be awesome, However being in the Midwest, sometimes its unusually warm and sometimes its still brutally cold with snow. Also, allowing the park more time to get things in tip-top shape is important too. And as someone who thinks fall weather is just perfect, the idea of having more days/hours available to enjoy the park then is far more preferred in my opinion.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex

How tall does one have to be to ride the Coke Freestyle machine?
