Really hate that this seems to have become an opening day tradition at a lot of parks here in recent years. People can't seem to go anywhere anymore without the possibility of being shot or getting caught up in some kind of altercation. Sad. Makes me wonder what KI's opening day will be like this year seeing as there was an incident last year that was thankfully apprehended before anything harmful could occur. I wouldn't be surprised if parks start doing active shooter training regularly since this is becoming so commonplace.

Definitely needs to be more consistency and reiteration on what is and what isn't across the board. There maybe things "subject to change" at any time. We know this. But the overall base understanding needs to be crystal clear across the board because this kind of confusion simply isn't it. When you go from having a Platinum pass with minimal to no confusion at all to a "same but different" pass set up that all of a sudden seems to be giving less benefits but advertised to work similarly to the previous pass type...yeah. You get where I'm going. One can only hope there will be more clarity and formality chain-wide without so much "this benefit works here but not there".

Ugh. This would really be pretty terrible if parks can pick and choose if they will honor the GP+APP set-up. This wasn't a worry with Platinum. It costs a lot already to travel to said parks, pay for the pass with add-ons and then find yourself at the gate having to pay the $30+ parking fee. Gross.

Thunder Striker sounds like a crappy 80's hair band that never quite made it anywhere As for i305, it'll be interesting to see what kind of name they change it to. If it rolls into the jungle theme-"JuNgLe StRiKeR".....sarcasm of course...orr...

And I am in the minority here, but I hope she has some years left in her to stick around awhile longer. Especially with being the last one of its kind in the states. It is one of the more intense ride experiences at the park and personally, I feel, one of the better older Vekomas still operating.

Really like the vibe of the new logo! I might be a bit biased with blue and black being my colors of choice. But kudos to the work put in for the refresh!

There were definitely more merch options this past season for The Bat. I know they made a really cool 30th Anniversary mug that had little bats on the inside. They also had a 30th Anniversary enamel pin and of they had those outrageously expensive ( but cool ) socks. I think I remember seeing a t-shirt or two. Not a ton of merch, but more than I have seen in a minute.

Same. I've had that very same thought myself. Could be a number of things. Keeping a "vintage" stand-up around for posterity? Converting it to a floorless may not be worth the cost to popularity ratio? Or maybe they are planning on taking it out all-together sometime soon-ish. Anything could be possible I suppose.

It depends on the ride. For example, something like Orion/Millie and even Mysti are incredibly too easy to marathon without any issues for me. But I can't marathon a coaster with inversions. I marathoned Banshee on Media Day and that was the last time I did that. I can manage maybe 2X in a row on a coaster with inversions, but any more than that and I am done. The only exception to the rule on marathoning inverting coasters has been with RMC hybrids. For some reason they don't bother me the way other types of inverting coasters do. The only thing RMC hybrids do that would make me tap out are the punishment the lap bars give

This is the kind of show that would be more fitting in the evening on the bandstand. I feel this would fit that kind of space more appropriately as well as engage the crowd. Kids would be into it. Play some fun music. Have some lights. Like most of you were saying, this kind of show is a terrible waste of the main theater. Bring back cirque. Or something that really utilizes the KI Theater in such a way that makes the audience forget where they are for 30-45mins.

I think it also holds nostalgia in general for a lot of people seeing as it opened at the dawn of the Millennium. Parks were trying new things and pushing the limits. Everything felt new and exciting. During this time we had a powerhouse of parks in the state of Ohio with Kings Island, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake/Sea World ( Later Six Flags Ohio/Six Flags Worlds of Adventure ). SoB just evokes a lot of what the beginning of the Millennium brought in. On that note, I was much younger and able to take the beating this ride gave and even in my teens/early 20's could only muster about one ride on it per visit. It was like putting your head in a paint shaker. I will agree with @IndyGuy4KI about it having one of the best drops on a wooden coaster of all time though. Not sure if it was because of the shear size of the ride and knowing you were sitting atop a struction made entirely out of wood vs steel, the picturesque view of Action Zone and the now Adventure Port being what you fly past on your way down, the intense build up while climbing that insanely loud lift hill, the little pre-drop before you dove straight into your fate. Honestly it was magic until it wasn't The ride was anything but graceful or refined. But I will say that my best memory has to be the last year of it's operation. I rode it a week before they shut it down for good. Probably the best ride I ever had on it. It's almost like he knew he was on borrowed time.

Why is it that when I looked at this photo I just hear pure silence. No music. No "ooooo ahhhh!" Just the grunts and groans of this guy waving a bubble wand. Maybe a fart for an encore.

I hope that it isn't on its way out any time soon. I enjoy it. Biggest thrill in the park and one I do at minimum 1-2X a year. But I feel there may be a trend in the removal of upcharge attractions happening through CF.

I really do not remember the Nick store ( sadly, I was a 90's Nick kid growing up! ) but I DO remember the carousel horse in the window!

We did 3 days in a row last May and THAT was almost too much. I absolutely love CP, don't get me wrong, but I would absolutely need a break from the park all together to break it up. Plus there are a ton of really cool places to see, eat at and explore in Sandusky as a whole. I feel like folks who stay up there for the park rarely venture away to experience the awesome little city it's located in.

One less thing to have to worry about potentially losing and one less thing to carry haha

Look. I am all for ethical treatment of animals and ensuring their well being and safety. But PETA is a joke. No one takes them seriously and haven't for far too long because of asinine stuff like this. Riding a carousel animal does not equate "bad" treatment of actual real live animals. I have been riding actual real live horses for basically my entire life at this point. Owned many and trained many. PETA would hate me for that. But if anyone who has spent the significant amount of time with real live horses the way I have, most of them actually ENJOY work and having a rider. It's a bonding activity and it gives them enrichment. Certain breeds, for goodness sakes, were specially bred to do a job. And believe me, a horse WILL tell you when they've had enough of something or they are unhappy. An ethical rider/owner will know this and take note. I was riding real horses long before I was riding carousels. So PETA, do the math. Oh, that's right, that would require them to actually use logic!
