  1. I think it also holds nostalgia in general for a lot of people seeing as it opened at the dawn of the Millennium. Parks were trying new things and pushing the limits. Everything felt new and exciting. During this time we had a powerhouse of parks in the state of Ohio with Kings Island, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake/Sea World ( Later Six Flags Ohio/Six Flags Worlds of Adventure ). SoB just evokes a lot of what the beginning of the Millennium brought in. On that note, I was much younger and able to take the beating this ride gave and even in my teens/early 20's could only muster about one ride on it per visit. It was like putting your head in a paint shaker. I will agree with @IndyGuy4KI about it having one of the best drops on a wooden coaster of all time though. Not sure if it was because of the shear size of the ride and knowing you were sitting atop a struction made entirely out of wood vs steel, the picturesque view of Action Zone and the now Adventure Port being what you fly past on your way down, the intense build up while climbing that insanely loud lift hill, the little pre-drop before you dove straight into your fate. Honestly it was magic until it wasn't The ride was anything but graceful or refined. But I will say that my best memory has to be the last year of it's operation. I rode it a week before they shut it down for good. Probably the best ride I ever had on it. It's almost like he knew he was on borrowed time.
  2. Why is it that when I looked at this photo I just hear pure silence. No music. No "ooooo ahhhh!" Just the grunts and groans of this guy waving a bubble wand. Maybe a fart for an encore.
  3. I wish they’d bring Cirque back

  5. I really hope another crack at this can be made. This would have been a really cool watch. Maybe someday.
  6. I hope that it isn't on its way out any time soon. I enjoy it. Biggest thrill in the park and one I do at minimum 1-2X a year. But I feel there may be a trend in the removal of upcharge attractions happening through CF.
  7. I really do not remember the Nick store ( sadly, I was a 90's Nick kid growing up! ) but I DO remember the carousel horse in the window!
  8. We did 3 days in a row last May and THAT was almost too much. I absolutely love CP, don't get me wrong, but I would absolutely need a break from the park all together to break it up. Plus there are a ton of really cool places to see, eat at and explore in Sandusky as a whole. I feel like folks who stay up there for the park rarely venture away to experience the awesome little city it's located in.
  9. One less thing to have to worry about potentially losing and one less thing to carry haha
  10. Look. I am all for ethical treatment of animals and ensuring their well being and safety. But PETA is a joke. No one takes them seriously and haven't for far too long because of asinine stuff like this. Riding a carousel animal does not equate "bad" treatment of actual real live animals. I have been riding actual real live horses for basically my entire life at this point. Owned many and trained many. PETA would hate me for that. But if anyone who has spent the significant amount of time with real live horses the way I have, most of them actually ENJOY work and having a rider. It's a bonding activity and it gives them enrichment. Certain breeds, for goodness sakes, were specially bred to do a job. And believe me, a horse WILL tell you when they've had enough of something or they are unhappy. An ethical rider/owner will know this and take note. I was riding real horses long before I was riding carousels. So PETA, do the math. Oh, that's right, that would require them to actually use logic!
  11. Yeah and with the dismal ops I experienced last year on my visits, I can't imagine how bad ALL of the lines will be this season.
  12. I also wouldn't be surprised if when the season kicks off if they decide to only merit one go-round per Fast Lane user regardless of whatever type of FL+ they have.
  13. I literally just saw this exact post. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I imagine Sandusky PD and park security will be abundant as I can imagine there will be those who will raise Cain over this because "they didn't know"
  14. I'd still say it could be fun just to go up and hang out in Sandusky though. Plenty of things to do in the little city and if its warm enough (which is absolutely possible) spend some time by the lake. WCO is a neat event but I always say that going and hanging out in Sandusky is also a good time.
  15. I wonder how much they'd want for that sign
  16. Going to the gym has been one of my biggest off-season activities. Staying active is a huge part of my well-being. Going to some of the Cincinnati Great Parks to hike and explore. Arcade Legacy and Scene 75 are always cool. Volunteering at the animal shelters. Trying new food places. Pretty much anything that keeps me moving.
  17. I hope this offers Fast Lane. I'm not sure I will be able to stand waiting in the regular lines to ride this monster!
  18. I wish I still had photoshop. It would be funny to do The Bat logo in Top Gun font and make the actual bat-animal logo look like it has little jet motors on its wings haha!
  19. Very front because of the view and also that last big swing before it hits hard into the brakes feels like you're about to slam into one of the support beams. Get's me every time. And the very back row because of the bigger feeling of speed. This ride is so deserving of much more praise. It's such a powerhouse of a little coaster.
  20. Maybe a Snoopy "Flying Ace" experience?
  21. It would be interesting and for those new to KI, the theater would be a "new" attraction. Probably would require extensive construction and new mechanics/hydraulics and such. But it would be awesome to see a resurgence.
  22. You could always just request the time off anyways and if you win, cool, if not you have a free weekend? I see no negatives here.
  23. In a dream world I would love to see Freddy's replace Jukebox Diner.
  24. And added a 400ft "first of its kind wooden spike!"
  25. I did not say FOR SURE what I was going to do. I was simply stating that I have a lot to think about before I make my decision in which I have plenty of time to do so. It's not about "affecting" the park, I never stated anything about that. It is simply weighing on the situation at hand. You do you...
