  1. Yep-the big arch in the center was cool. It really tied it all together. Not sure if the ones now are original or not. There are 2 “fountains” up in Middletown in their light drive through that might the ones from 05 that were sold off.
  2. I’ll second that. I get jealous with every KD post at how much better that park looks.
  3. So… a former marketing manager posts something on his own blog about a potentially HUGE guest spending opportunity that the current park marketing people have said nothing about… then magically just a wee bit later, the park posts about it. Yet shows fewer images and video of it in operation than another person in this forum posted several days ago. OMG they are tripping over dollars to squeeze pennies (out of desert add ons for an overpriced buffet) and clearly have little to no clue about what one hand is doing from the other.
  4. That’s just petty and pathetic. I’ve not been, but these fabulous deserts are NOT the pinnacle of the culinary mountain I’m sure. Honestly I’m super disappointed.
  5. Thing is it’s not really a coaster event, so I don’t see that happening.
  6. That picture shows how they should’ve redone the pavement for IS. The curbs were gone, but it still felt “street like”. If you made the brick part a bit narrower and moved the lamps closer to the buildings when they put them back in, the floats would still fit. Also shows what I feel was a miss-adding seating back at the end where the junky funPic booth is that could easily be relocated-along with fastlane sales to a new “guest add on” building by the lockers and stroller rental
  7. Sad. Pretty much confirmed that’s failed.
  8. I don’t personally care for any activity yhh by at you don’t get out of thE car for. Just didn’t have toe impact for me
  9. Interesting tweak to the parade route this year. I feel like this is way better- now they just need to eliminate the show stop between coney and IS and run it back down the other side of coney to the start point for the last show stop. They could even list the “approx” times that it would hit the stops so people don’t stress out if they don’t get to the route right at 8. Also interesting that Carrowinds is running theirs at 9-likely as an official “end” to the evening. Wonder what their learnings from the haunt parade were. All the vids I saw of it, it felt a bit cringy and desperate.but those were all from early in the run. Maybe it got better, but that seemed like an odd investment.
  10. Dollywood has quite a few closed days and shorter days. They have added days for sure. As you say, the potential revenue makes it worth the cost to them.
  11. I don’t feel like it did. They ran two shorter trains I believe and then the soldier that got dropped off for train 1 had time to walk back to the load area as train 2 departed with soldier 2, then soldier 1 boarded train 1 again.
  12. And I’d venture that they have raised those pass prices to make them a bit “less attractive “ to the local “very few weeks” attendee that rarely spends much.
  13. I’d be down for this. While I like what can be done with RiverTown for HAUNT, it would be nice if they played up the whole Harvest Celebration idea. I think IS and Rivertown coins have some “creepy” elements, but maybe not all out scares, then really ramp it up in the other half.
  14. That was my point. Even in the concept art the fountain had already been turned into a planter LOL
  15. Are we sure it’s actual water? I could see them doing another “dry stream” idea. They seem to hate water features. We couldn’t even get an actual fountain in Adventure Port-they went straight to the “it broke so we turned it into a planter” phase LOL.
  16. Mike K actually said there were more “effects items” that had supply chain issues coming in. The newly painted masks for the lift hil never got installed-just sitting in a stack by the end of the tunnel. Most of the new audio never plays now. Mouth for temple god totally missing. Quit working right a month or so ago-looked like he was gumming his strained peas! . Lights on new monkey scene to actually see it at night. Some lighting in the gem mine to… you know… look like a gem mine. Overall it just never felt like it all got done, then it opened, and never got revisited.
  17. Is DrNightmare REALLY a show deserving of an actual stage in the center of the park? WTH was that? That could’ve easily been in coney on the mini stage or Action Zone or… no where and it would be fine. Wow. edit-but my 9 year old wouldn’t leave… new target demographic NAILED!

Delete!
  19. Lol. Don is blowing the fog up to Sandusky so he has a new feature article about migration of fake fog in the fall LOL.
  20. There is this CRAZY thing called weather. It affects artificial fog. I swear, do we need to turn every windy night into a budget cut conspiracy theory?!?
  21. The pics I’ve seen from Dominion, I’d say the cost seems to be justified. Seems like a better all around event just from what I’ve seen. Anyone know how the parade is going at Carrowinds? The first night videos looked pretty poorly watched.
  22. So was the witch spell casting show cut as well? The game show seems like basically a lateral (worse) move to the bandstand, but the daytime entertainment options seem pretty bad for this years Tricks and Treats
  23. Keep in mind atmospheric pressure has a huge affect on artificial fog. When the air is damp and heavy like last night, it can hang a lot more.
  24. Yeah. I cringed a bit when I saw that post.
