If done tastefully. I think DC comics would be a welcomed replacement of Action Zone.

Its current location isn’t bad, it just lacks seating. They really should reuse the straw bales from haunt as seating:

A multi record smashing GCI wooden coaster. Son of Beast 2.0?

The International Restaurant can then also be renamed to Mike’s Budget Buffet for Winterfest. ..On a serious note with the upgraded food offerings we have had this season. I’m hopeful that the buffet will follow suit.
-
Is the desert included with the buffet this season?

CP’s Frontier Sling is currently being disassembled. No official word on why from CP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1988602284500537/posts/looks-like-something-else-might-be-on-the-way-out/9348629118497780/? If it’s being removed, how much longer before KI follows suit?

I just filled out a survey for Cedar Point that asked about the importance of having an IP used for theming at the parks. DC comics was mentioned alongside Peanuts:

I’m not sure how much KK factors into having The Racer and SSBR operating for Winterfest this year at KI. Last season I visited BGW’s Christmas Town and KD’s Winterfest. KD was operating the same amount of coasters KI was for Winterfest in 2023. An hour down the road at BGW and they only had 3 of there coasters not operating out of their entire lineup. Also, Carowinds too was only operating a couple coasters. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the chain follows suit with having more coasters operate for Winterfest. Here are my trip reports: Regardless, having both The Racer and SSBR operating for Winterfest is a welcomed addition!

New Director of Communications for the Midwest Region for Six Flags

I'm still a bit skeptical on if this is going to lead to the improvements with Comms department that people seek. Although to some, it can't get any worse. PR / Comms being ran through corporate, hundreds of miles away. I can't imagine we are going to see anymore involvement than we do now. Coupled with the digital content partner guidelines. I would like to think the park uses KIC as a tool. An advantage to KIC versus other pages such as the passholder group is you don't get the white noise of questions that are asked repetitively. Also, that the criticism is more or less constructive than personal attacks. Although sometimes we, myself included, fall short of that. -
With the “Giga” we got, and the “Water Coaster” we are getting. Mid-level is the new norm for KI.
-
I think it’s still too early to tell. However, I will say the park experiences I have had this season is better than last.

So it appears that we will not be getting an extra hour for daylight savings time at the park for 2024. I paid for my Gold Pass with All Park Passport, drink, meal and ASFL. The fact that they are not giving us an extra hour has me feeling robbed and therefore cheated. I did call Guest Services and there was no answer. Kings Island did not communicate this to me when I bought my pass.

So what I take or at least expect is things won’t change from the current “hands off” approach of the current team.. I can’t imagine there will be more involvement now that PR / Marketing is being controlled from Charlotte. What will happen to Coasterstock? -
Rumor has it that Grace Peacock, from Canada’s Wonderland, will be the PR Regional Director for the Midwest region.
-
It is true. You can save around 25% by purchasing from Canada.

If I'm not mistaken, they extended the days for Haunt in September? I'm assuming instillation for the Ice-skating rink is contracted out. So, if a contract was already signed maybe they had no choice but the drain the fountains in order to have it ready for when the contractors begin installation of the rink? Although I agree it looks tacky, I'll take that for another weekend of fun. It would be nice to get clarification by the park here. However, our relationship with the park is well, non-existent.

Different strokes for different folks. I agree with the notion that it does look a bit tacky.

You seem bitter.

Project 305 "nearing completion"...

FoF and BLSC really stick out now in Jungle X-pedition. -
Yeah, outside of KI’s weak steel coaster lineup. KI in my opinion, has been the better park this season. The customer service was sub par at CP. Heck, my room at the Express hotel was dirty and the furniture looked as if a dog got ahold of it. Totally not worth the premium they charge.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Tr0y replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I'm sure Holiday World (Koch) is concerned about a 530ft water coaster going into Soak City next season. Especially after Good Gravy outperformed KI's SSBR in the golden ticket awards. Dollywood (Herschend) is still sitting at the top of best kids' area; KI however went down in the Golden Ticket Awards even after investing over 7millon into its kids' area. To Mike's Credit, the coasters people want are being installed at the park. However, there is a disconnect with what people want and the expectation with it versus what the park is putting out.
