  1. That would be a tough one. As far as my statement goes I would have to agree with you "It's A Small World After All" would ruin the ambience more, but I might actually prefer it to the dumb announcement.
  2. I think it would be hard to keep it as a city of the future as technology keeps changing so be hard to do that. Think the path they are going to is best. Keep it an educational park but with lots of rides. IT will help attract kids to it and keep them engaged. Think having the "future" area with all the different pavilions is good and attractions for them and then the world showcase to learn more about other countries and cultures. Though I think they could use some expansion of attractions throughout it. I can understand some disappointment with the Viking ride being removed for a Frozen one, but overall I think it will attract more people and help out, just maybe add some other educational aspect like a small theatre somewhere to it eventually. Think could be good to also add the Ratatouille dark ride to the France area and one in Germany since it has a ride building already. A river rapids ride would go great in Canada.
  3. Yea I didn't see anything going for the old dino movie at all last season either. Think Action Theater could be a better location and then leave the old Crypt building for a wild mouse or euro-fighter style coaster. I am curious as well to see what story they will use for KI's ride since they are all supposed to get park specific stories. There is plenty they could pull from like the supposed ghosts, something around Banshee (though don't think it's likely as the two buildings likely to be used are well away from it's area), The Beast, could do a Phantom's revenge story, something themed to Cincinatti/Mason area history, or something completely new. If they use The Crypt's old building, I think a cool idea would be to make a story surrounding the entire Rivertown area. Something that incorporates The Beast into it but is about the Rivertown as a whole. Like maybe it was a prosperous mining town, then sighting of a creature in the woods and some disappearances of miners ran a bunch of people off and turned it into pretty much a ghost town and it went bankrupt and is limping by. The ride is themed into going into the mines in search of the abandoned gold and end with an encounter with The Beast (but not getting a good look at it to leave the mystery. Have it shrouded in fog and/or shadows so you never really see it. Just some blurs and flashes of orange) mostly just sounds and shadows throughout the ride until you get "attacked" and barely escape at the end.
  4. I agree wholeheartedly about the message to remain seated and such repeated. It completely ruins the ambience more than any music could
  5. Wouldn't be surprised to see one. Though I really hope we end up with two dark rides. Keep the ombimovier system in Boo Blasters building with a new theme (maybe Peanuts). Then get a new Triotech ride in where either Crypt or Action Theater were.
  6. I'm curious to see what Knott's ride will be like. Looks like it will be more of a standard dark ride and not a coaster hybrid like CW. I would prefer that I think as the coaster part of Wonder Mountains Guardian doesn't seem that amazing. Though it would probably depend on where they put it. Seems to be used as an easy way to get to the top and have multiple layers to the ride to circle down since it is a more vertical space than spread out. But we have two empty boxes essentially right now they could build in: The old Crypt building and the old Action Theater building. Both would be good spots. Personally I'd want a dark ride in the Action Theater spot and a themed wild mouse like Mystery Mine where Crypts building is.
  7. I didn't notice the cannon last year either but I had seen it in there in prior years. Most of the props were in the actual museum portion of the maze, pretty much the middle of it. The giant rat is also used in Board to Death in the Mouse Trap room
  8. I agree with it's appearance. It doesn't really fit that area of the park too well. Given it's backlot theming, even back during IJST days, I felt it seemed more suited to Action Zone. But I do enjoy the coaster a lot, and it's still semi-new so don't see it leaving soon. It still seems popular as well. But I wouldn't mind seeing it get re-themed to better suit the area. I also would hate to see The Bat go since there are not many suspended coaters like it left. I see it leaving before BLSC as well just due to age and many like it closing down around the country. There is rarely much of a line anymore either. Though the area is less prime real estate so I think that will help keep it around more. There area plenty of better location to build new attractions and coasters.
  9. Excited to see this season's show. Last year was great. Can't wait for it. Have to see if I can try to make it for the preview. Have a few things going on that weekend already and have to work that day but can usually duck out early on Fridays.
  10. This was a tough choice between Phantom Theatre and Tomb Raider. Both were great and would be welcome additions back to the park. Loved the Disney Haunted Mansion like feel to Phantom Theatre and it was so much fun and I still miss it each time I ride Boo Blasters (and on Scooby Doo before that). Tomb Raider was a fun thrill ride with amazing theming. Wish we could at least get something like The Crypt at Kings Dominion at KI. Love top spins. Phantom Theatre got my vote this time though. Great nostalgia and was something special to the park. Think a great themed dark ride would be an amazing addition to the park again. Plus it has great capacity and fun for the entire family. The Les Taxis would be a very close third option for me as well but the other two would definitely be ahead of it for me still.
  11. I think the music is ok but with it stopping before you reach the top feels weird. Think it has enough ambience to not need it, but fine with it. The announcements interrupting it are a bit annoying though. Best ride ever was at Halloween Haunt year ago. Rode front row with a friend and only other riders were in the back car so could to hear them. With only seeing the track ahead as hearing no one else felt like we were alone in the middle of the woods at night. It was amazing. Almost forget where you are at and that there is a whole train of cars behind you.
  12. I agree music fit to the areas in general would go a long way to enhance theming. I think the general looks for everywhere are good for theming but music would jsut push it over. The only spots that don't look fit to themes is Action Zone (it doesn't seem to know hat it wants to be right now.) and The Crypt entrance. Think this could easily be fixed with giving the building a mine theme for whatever attraction make take up residence here in the future. Never really understod the Asian flair inteh middle of Rivertown, though I did love TR:TR. BLSC is kind of on it's own so don't think it is hurting an area but could be themed to fit in with either Coneymall or Rivertown better. Thought IJST would have fit great in teh old Action Zone since both were themed to movie lots at the time. But change it to a steeplechase-esque feel for Coney Mall or a Maverik-esque feel for Rivertown.
  13. Also as far as night rides, a night ride on Beast is a must. Best ride in the park that way.
  14. Yea I think for early in the season you should be fine to get around to everything while you're there but if you're wanting to get multiple rides on most of the stuff you might need to get Fast Lane. BBut as others said wait until you get there. Rarely sell out and can decide fi you need it or not.
  15. Not sure on that one, wasn't there for it, or at least didn't go into it if I was.
  16. I agree. That's why I'm always mixed on getting a giga at the park. Would love to see us get one but something new and different, not just bigger, really helps to enhance the park and make it more diverse. Gigas are fun but it wouldn't be vastly different from Diamondback unless there was something new to it. I do find it a bit funny though that all three coaster in Action Zone now are ones that hang below the track.
  17. It could work. Do a slight turn out of the station and you can have the lift hill go up by the side of the turn around on Banshee, then the return/brake run could come in undernether it or over The Bat. And I don't think it would ruin it's theming. I'd imagine any coaster over there would have a similar theme to The Bat and Banshee, and it would be over by the back section of Banshee whereas most of the Theming is at the front with the queue and station.
  18. YEa be cool to see some pics of that. Remember going to it when I was a kid but hardly remember what it looked like inside the tent/dome thing it was in.
  19. When I was at Purdue our food courts had blue ice cream in the soft serve machines in the food courts sometimes.
  20. I agree, no conversions of our current woodies, but I really don't think they would anyway. Woodstock Express is a small family coaster so don't see it getting an expensive make over, not really something likely to draw a ton of crowds. Racer and Beast are both classic, renowned coasters for different reasons so don't see them messing with something that has such a big history or renown. Would love to see an original creating from RMC back in Rivertown somewhere., maybe next to the crypts old building in the woods there. I do agree with Airtime though that a giga would be more likely though with Cedar Fair's history of builds at other parks. Would love to see one as well and think running out behind Banshee is the perfect spot for one. It could even utilize Son of Beast's old station.
  21. Think a Soak City expansion is much needed. We could definitely use at least a new slide tower if not a few big new slides.
  22. Going to try to go, but most of my friends just got passes this year so can't go to the preview night. Got one that renewed so hopefully he will be free.
  23. I'd rather have a mine theme to fit in with the area of Rivertown. Always liked TR:TR and Crypt was ok but never felt like it belonged there. Think something like Mystery Mine at Dollywood would be perfect. Highly themed interior portions but also go out if the building for some fun outdoor parts. Give them more room to work with too
  24. Honstly aftergoign through it the last couple years I wouldn't mind if it was retired for something new. Or revamp it like Slaughterhouse got this year elsewhere in the park. I thinkt he concept is a good one but the execution has been pretty weak. Also not sure if it's just the night I went but there were hardly any scareactors in it. Think we walked halfway through it before the first one popped out.
  25. You also have to consider the fact that while it is a smaller space than the one we lost, the old car ride at Kings Island had two completely separate paths so it was really like half the size of the land. And I think there is enough room to add one in as things are now. Could use the remaining open space next to BLSC and have it bridge over the walkway and utilize the open space next to the International Street Theater and Diamondback's break run. There is plenty of room there for a single track car ride. Could round out a nice midway for International Street there too if they did put a flat ride or two where Tower Gardens is now. Think putting one fo the two you listed would be great because would add another ride but leave enough free space to keep plenty of trees and maybe a smaller sitting/gardens are there too
