Would love to see either of them Alice Cooper would be great for Halloween but agree that it probably wouldn't be int eh budget, especially for all the Halloween season. Could be nice if they could get someone decent at least though that might be cheaper or even someone that could do good cover performances and do a musical show around acts like Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath instead of the Monster Rock show they do now. If they did get someone like Alice Cooper be cool to have a maze themed to them/their music like Universal has done as well. Could be interesting to at least get a theme each year with a mascot like them too. Last year would have been great to have Eve as the mascot type character of Halloween Haunt and have a Celtic/Irish maze themed around her

I agree with the sentiment of why not both. A hybrid coaster would be a great addition to the park. Just don't convert any of the ones we already have.

Yea and with Banshee still being fairly new and popular but on the other side it will split the morning crowds up a bit more for ERT between the two locations. I look forward to being able to ride both Diamondback and Woodstock Fliers in ERT. Hopefully Boo Blasters will still be running for it as well and maybe Surf Dog, then I can get all my rides in that area before the park opens then head around through the backside then.

Late 80s was my first trip to King's Island so some fo the stuff mentioned wasn't around at that point. But I remember the Smurf's ride, I loved riding it, was one fo my favorites. Was really sad to see it leave (though Phantom Theatre was one of my all time favorite rides there ever. So at least had a great replacement.) I also remember riding the handcar train things. Have some photos of me on it somewhere I'll have to try to find. Also miss The Beastie being The Beastie. I miss the haunted look and all the trees and stuff over by it. Plus was nice having a junior version of The Beast to ride until I was big enough to ride the real one. And I also greatly miss the vine tunnel as others have mentioned as well. That really needs to be brought back somewhere in the park. Also loved riding the Character Carousel. I also rode on Jabberjaw

I like it as is but as long as it had a natural color look to it like it's original green or a brownish/red color like the one in Paris I'd be fine with it. Think the green/blue looks better for in a park though. Anything bright like yellow or orange or really vibrant like purple would be strange looking

It's a toss up between TR:TR and Outer Limits mostly because of the immense theming of the rides. Really gave the feeling of being at a major park like Universal or Disney. Tomb Raider edges out Outer Limits to me since it had a great theme and scenery throughout multiple rooms and the ride itself, whereas Outer Limits mostly had a themed queue and loading area.

Great report. Glad to hear you had a great trip. Keep wanting to take a trip back to Gatlinburg and go to Dollywood too. I always thought something like Mystery Mine would be great where Crypt/TR:TR was. Could use the current building and go out of it some like Mystery Mine and the thee would fit great for Rivertown. I love the dark ride/roller coaster combos like that.

I agree. I wouldn't mind a water coaster but I see it going over in Action Zone in place of Amazon Falls more, then move it to Soak City or somewhere else in the park. I think Amazon Falls looks a little out of place in Action Zone now and a water coaster would fit in great and still keep the same general feel of having AF there. And if AF was moved to Soak City it would give a nice high capacity attraction for them, something new without a huge investment, and a great way for people to cool off one the ride and as spectators while in the park and they aren't worried about getting drenched. I imagine over there the bridge would be packed with people.

Agree don't touch The Beast. I wouldn't mind an RMC coaster added but would one a completely new one. RAcer and Beast are both classics, and part of Beast's appeal is the roughness.

I could see us getting one too in a few years and B&M is the most likely candidate to build it. Though there might even be a new popular type in the mean time before we get another. If we do get a giga though I kind of hope there is something different to it to help set it apart from Diamondback aside from just height. Like maybe a wing-rider giga or something.

Sally Corp would be the more likely and they can make some good stuff. But if I had to pick I'd go with Oceaneering International. They are the ones that did the Spiderman and Transformers ones for Universal, Curse of Darkkastle, and are building the new Battle for Metropolis ones for Six Flags (Sally Corp is providing the animatronics though and they look great)
-
I think that would be a great fit for Tomb Raider's box and theme it around a mine o fit in the area's theme. It could even dip in and out of the building. I also agree with others for an immersive non-shooting dark ride. something like Curse of DarKastle would be awesome.

Yea I'm not sure about keeping Boo Blasters bu I'm all for keeping that as a seperate family dark ride and then getting something like Battle for Metropolis or even Wonder Mountain's Guardian, though I'd prefer the Justice League one right now. If we got a new updated shooting one I'd hope that they convert Boo Blasters into a new dark ride that is one you can just ride through. MAybe themed to Peanuts since it's in that area.

Winterfest Wishes and Ideas- A Way to Bring It Back
purdude86 replied to Skyrider's topic in Kings Island
YEa the weather would be rough to manage, especially with the artic chills we got last year. But every winter event has to deal with that that are outside. Like the zoos and stuff. As for only being a 2-3 our thing I feel man of the events for Christmas are about that long. I think they could definteily do a bit though. I'm not sure about Flight of Fear being open but keep International Street to Rivertown open. Have a live musical show I the Paramount Theatre, I do like the dinner theatre idea for Festhaus (with traditional holiday food), strolling carolers, roasted nut and hot chocolate carts, ice skating, have some rides open like the train, carousel and a holiday overlay of Boo Blasters, lastly have a petting zoo area with reindeer and such. This would keep the cost for the park lower as it's not over the top and only has about a third of the park open to worry about keeping clear and such. Could add some heaters around to help on the cold days. I don't think everything should be an upcharge. MAybe charge a small skate rental fee and charge for food and gifts but everything else should be included, no individual show tickets and such -
Looking forward to the new Woodstock Gliders. WE have needed a new flat ride. Kind of glad it's in Planet Snoopy as well. Help keep their status as a great kids area and help keep lines shorter from people viewing it as a kids ride and staying away. Ive often walked onto Surf Dog or just had to wait one cycle, where i'll see Disk-o rides with longer lines at other parks when they're on a general midway.

WWC is my favorite. I love rapids rides and the location of it is great being tucked back in the woods. I like flumes a lot too so RFYLCB is a close second. KCKC is greatly missed as well, would love to get a new big flume like it back. It really sucks now with Tomb Raider being gone so that area has nothing for the regular season.

As others have said Firehawk would be my first ride just due to it's capacity. Flight of Fear is really bad as well and lines up fast so by hitting Firehawk first I could jump over to Flight of Fear right after and knock them both out really fast before they get a huge line. Favorite area is tough as Action Zone looks great with it's improvements and additions this year but still has a little more work to go. I love the look of Coney Mall too. But Rivertown wins for me with the Diamondback and Beast combo. Plus White Water Canyon is a lot of fun and RFYLCB is right next to it and fits in a bit with the theme as well. Reds Hall of Fame grill being the only real sit down restaurant at the park gives it a little bit of a boost on the food side too.

This was a hard choice as it's kind of a toss up for me between Slaughterhouse and Madame Fatale's. Both are excellent but I went with Slaughterhouse. The skeleton key room was the best at it so that kind of puts it over the top a bit for me for the win.
-
Yea that one was great. IT and Madame Fatale's were the best mazes overall and Slaughterhouse's room was the best by far and the actor was great. Wish my roommate could have gone though, He is deathly afraid of snakes so would have loved to have seen him at Madame Fatale's room.

Article: Designing Phantom Theater (Theme Park University)
purdude86 replied to TombRaiderFTW's topic in Kings Island
It's true to an extent about the intereactive rides being the bigger, more popular additions now but there have been rides that have shown that is not necessarily what people like best. Some fo the most popular dark rides are non-interactive ones. Transformers, Harry Potter, Spider-Man, Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion are probably some of the most popular and well loved dark rides out there and non of them are interactive. The only really popular and loved interactive one I can think of is Toy Story midway mania. I will grant that many of them don't include animatronics anymore but they are done with a high quality still that they don't really feel lacking either. -
I can't wait, just got my skeleton key passes ordered for this Saturday

I'm between 6'3 and 6'4 and fit on it. the biggest problem I've had is the close proximity of the seats in front. my I can easily kick the seat in front of me without even having to lift my leg very much, but fit alright into my seat itself.

Haven't made it there yet this year but just scattered throughout the gallery portion of the wax museum I have noticed a few props from it. That's where I've seen the cannon too. not sure if any got moved or not though.
