  1. I remember riding WWC when I was in my teens (about 15-20 years ago), someone on the ride pulled out an umbrella on my boat (this was back when they paired riders up to fill up the boat so I didn't know the person). The person shooting the geyser warned the rider to put away their umbrella which of course they didn't listen to. All of a sudden I had something happen that had never happened before, they stopped our boat in the middle of the ride and she just started pounding us with a geyser until the rider eventually put the umbrella away. Too bad they didn't do that to this particular rider, I can assure you no electronic device would of survived the water beating I took that day.
  2. I don't have any screen shots, but I can say that they have seemed fairly accurate on the rides that I have compared to the wait times.
  3. It's down today with maintenance workers working on it
  4. Just in case anyone in the Louisville area wants some "free" tickets to Kings Island. http://www.courier-journal.com/story/life/family/2015/06/30/holiday-hero-independence-day-blood-drive/29500229/
  5. Is this very common to happen on really busy days? I can't recall anytime they have extended the close time on the actual day.

The wait time to close has been extended an hour as they are closing at 11pm tonight. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/615241112240979968
  7. Went today and my 5 year old daughter hit the 48 inch mark for the first time! Was an awesome experience just seeing her joy in getting to ride all these new rides she's seen the last few years but not been able to ride. Rode all the 48 inch rides with the exceptions of Drop Tower, Beast, and Vortex which we were also going to get but the rain got in the way since we decided to leave after the downpour around 2. I was told her favorite new ride was Zephyr and favorite new coaster was The Bat. But really she enjoyed all the new rides. She was kinda upset she couldn't do the Dodgems on her own as she couldn't reach the pedal but she was OK with doing the steering while I just held down the pedal. Her first ride was on Racer which she loved, I was kinda annoyed though because when we were going up the lift hill there was a teen on the red Racer (we were on the blue) yelling at his friend in the seat behind us "F*** YOU!!" repeatedly and flipping him the bird the whole way up thinking he was being funny, luckily it didn't phase my daughter as she was more into the ride than senseless idiots, but still left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that "incident" I had a blast getting to see my daughter have first experiences on these new rides and look forward to doing Beast and Vortex with her next week.
  8. ........... I've seen a few Hawaii plates in Kentucky before, but I could probably only count them on one hand obviously.
  9. That would be a slippery slope in my opinion that the park probably is hesitant to go down especially since they pride themselves on the high capacity of the ride and that would take down the capacity numbers.
  10. Thanks for the idea Magenta, don't know why I didn't try that yet, I'll try it this Thursday when I head back up there.
  11. I get prompted to sign up every time I open the app. When I try the Facebook option it throws up a Facebook window for like 2 seconds then goes away and then just shows the Kings Island skyline kinda blurry and never changes. Then I try it with email and it let's me in even though I never get an email for it. Then the next time I visit Kings Island I have to go through the same steps again, i would think the app would save this information. I have gotten to use the BOGO Funnel cake offer though, it was quite yummy, first time I had ever had a funnel cake at Kings Island.
  12. The comments on there are quite funny, so much hate for Frozen. Also, I didn't know so many people went to Disney World to learn the history of Norway lol. Disney is in the business of making money, they have a new Frozen movie due out in a few years and Frozen is still extremely popular with young girls. Gotta change to stay relevant.
  13. The Smiler accident has more media attention because the chances of something like that happening on a coaster are extremely small due to all the safety precautions and therefore is something that is news worthy. Random car accidents with no major injuries will not be reported because they are very common.
  14. There is some on here who will defend the news stations reporting this, I'm not one. Ratings are great and all, but come on...

I have been once a week since opening week so I think that puts me around 6 or 7 visits, there was one week that I did go there twice. This week might be the first week I don't make it up there as I plan on attending Italian Fest in Newport.
  16. Just like roller coasters, move up from the smaller slides to the bigger slides as they see fit. Last year my daughter (who was 4 at the time) went from riding the little kiddie slides by the wave pool to the larger slides with that big water area where they spray you, to the family tube ride, and finally up to Rendezvous Run which was quite an accomplishment. Couple other tips: - Make sure the child is comfy in the tubes, they can feel uncomfortable to younger ones some times and feel like they are sinking in - Sunscreen - Do the wave pool, but remember that Kings Island requires children under 48" to wear life jackets and it is enforced - Sunscreen - Do the lazy river, it is probably the best lazy river I have ever been on - Sunscreen
  17. No I do not, they don't bother me, I do enjoy the most prestigious wooden fence in all of Mason, OH though!
  18. I think it would be fun to move Dinosaurs Alive to the train ride. Not sure if it is logistically possible, but it would at least give an extra layer of entertainment to the ride that's missing other than the one liner jokes from the ride ops.
  19. I saw one for Gatekeeper and Rebel Yell
  20. Either way, there is no way I'm coming close to the park that night. Hot sun and beer make people act stupid. I bet the Mason PD will be camped out on Kings Island Dr though, so beware to any dumb enough to drink and drive.
  21. Judging by the comments I looked at so far I would say Pirates of the Caribbean is a lock.
  22. They could of hired engineering aliens from a galaxy far away, still doesn't "feel" safe when I ride it. But again, I know it's safe, just doesn't "feel" that way. Maybe my point was missed. Either way, I will still ride it, as long as I don't have my souvenir cup along with me for the day.
  23. The only thing I have seen in reference to it not being allowed is the little sign inside the seat that say's no sudden turns. Other than that though, I haven't heard anyone be told not to do anything extreme that might cause a snap.
  24. Firehawk remains as the ride I dislike the most in the park, simply for the restraint system alone, something about it just doesn't feel safe to me even though I'm sure it's more than safe.
  25. What is bad about them? They give an extra layer of entertainment in some long lines, sure the music may not suit everyone's preferences, but it's better than listening to teenage gossip by the kids in front of you. The only FunTV's that I have had any issues with have been the Boo Blasters for the obvious reasons which have been beaten to death. Like others, I just hope they keep FunTV away from Flight of Fear though.
