  1. Kids love the petting zoo, my daughter included. Are you talking about this year that you haven't seen it opened yet? It doesn't open until the summer months.
  2. My personal opinion, this thread needs to be shut down. It was earlier asked the age of people on here, everyone is acting like children. Too many personal attacks, this forum is one of my favorite places to go because threads don't generally break down like this... ugly...
  3. I believe they also do that for Fast Lane to properly work with that ride since it turns into a narrow hallway after where that ride op stands.
  4. <deleted text to remove confusion> EDIT: D'oh! I just went back and looked and the post about the log flume was actually by the KI Central Facebook and not the official Kings Island Facebook... disregard this post
  5. Have it be where you can place your order and then be notified via cell phone when order is ready, if customer does not have a cell phone give the customer a buzzer like they have at the restaurants to notify them when their order is ready. Would be even better if you could place the order via the app instead of waiting in line with a cashier. And even better than that would be if you could stage the order to be ready at a set time (e.g. place my order a 3 to have it ready at 6). And a replacement for the app if you don't have one to place the order would be kiosks located outside of the food areas that can be used to place an order at ANY food area.
  6. Two years ago it was quite regular for the ride operators to allow for a re-ride if there was no line waiting at Kings Island. Starting last year though I noticed a few people ask if they could re-ride and they told them that they are no longer allowed to do that. Not sure if that was a new policy or a policy they just never enforced before, but I know all year last year I didn't see anyone get a re-ride at Kings Island.
  7. Personally my place to catch the fireworks now is on Shake Rattle and Roll, the lighting between that ride and WindSeeker and the fireworks being right around the corner make for a great experience.
  8. I think Phantom Theater, all other rides that have been removed were either removed for good reason (Son of Beast), replaced with a new even better ride (Banshee, Adventure Express, & Delirium > King Cobra), have been brought back already (Flying Eagles, although not in original form unfortunately), or was a shell of it's former self due to licensing (TR:TR). But Phantom Theater had no reason to be removed other than maintenance costs as far as I know, it was replaced with a much more inferior ride, and I don't remember the quality of the ride degrading too much over time like Boo Blasters has.
  9. Come on guys! It's obvious that they are re-locating Timberwolf Amphitheater over to this area and expanding Congo Falls to be a larger ride with theming going through what remains of the old animal park area then renaming it to Shoot the Rapids so they can get rid of that Paramount theme to the ride. Am I the only one seeing this? Oh wait, guess I am, nevermind < /sarcasm> (just in case anyone actually thought I was being serious which I'm sure someone did)
  10. I already understand all things stated above, I'm just saying I wish I could ride Beast watching fireworks again. lol oh you guys!
  11. I just wish they wouldn't close The Beast at the fireworks, my friends and I would make it a point to try and get on the ride as the fireworks are going off. Now if you want to get a ride on The Beast after 9:45 you have to wait until at least 10:15 to actually get on the ride. Last year I got a ride at 11:00 on a 10:00 closing night due to this, which was pitch black, so I guess it wasn't all bad.
  12. So here are my observations from tonight... The one show we watched tonight (which I think was the only one they had) was the Hollywood Nights show, good performance by those who did it, but I still prefer real instruments playing music than karaoke with dancing. We did do one of the claw games in Festhaus after watching the Hollywood Nights show, getting the card was pretty painless, I pressed the button to get a new card, but my one dollar bill in, and it gave me a card. And of course didn't win the claw game but that goes without saying lol I agree with the earlier post, the FunPix stuff they are putting over the pictures is a little over the top, you cannot see the pictures at all, that's a good way to NOT sell me on FunPix, why would I want to invest in FunPix when I don't even know what my pictures are going to end up looking like? Also on topic with FunPix, I noticed that Beast now has a "Selfie Station", don't recall seeing that last year or being discussed on here. Looks like a little kiosk area that takes you picture for you automatically. I was surprised they still had the sharks... *cough*... sorry, I mean associates out at the entrance trying to get random people with photos, was hoping they would be away with FunPix now being in the picture (no pun intended) I got one of the all season refill cups, it was $25, I would have to pay $15 for the one to get the $.99 refills and I imagine we will get more than 10 refills on this cup throughout the year. My daughter is at the 48" mark right now so we don't have any rides I can't take the bottle with me on, when we hit that 52" mark it might change my opinion Adventure Express... the theming seemed like it was finally back on and very close to it's original SFX being on, count me as impressed On the other side... Boo Blasters... it looked like they hadn't touched this ride all off-season. I do think this is going to be one of the last seasons for it judging by how little seemed to be done with it. And as others have stated, the targeting system seemed to be worse than it has ever been, I only got an 810 on it and I usually get over 1500 consistently. Food service... the line was very long at Festhaus, but to be fair, we got there right before the Hollywood Nights show started so I think there was some people there that came to see the show who got in line. By the time the show was over there was hardly any line over at LaRosa's. Diamondback, I had the same issue with the picture that the person above did, I could not see myself at all because was in the second row. I was thoroughly impressed with all associates this evening, it seemed like everyone was pretty much on their game. Sure there was a few that didn't seem like they knew exactly what they were doing but supervisors were helping out where needed, you gotta give them a break, it was their first night for a lot of them. Rides that I noticed being down at one point or another during the evening: WindSeeker, BLSC, WWC, Invertigo, Flying Ace Aerial Chase I love the Scrambler's new lighting package and paint job, it looked very nice
  13. Meanwhile, some apartment complexes embrace the noise http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/apa/5498579611.html
  14. I'm actually glad they did the chicken salad at Chicken Shack, it still may not be healthy, but I personally am more inclined to get lettuce on my meal with it as a salad over a wrap, but that's just me because I hate salad in wraps, I know, I'm weird lol.
  15. The gift shop next to the entrance is my best way of avoiding the photo people, of course then they throw me off on the days when they stand back next to the fountains where you are pretty much required to walk by them.
  16. Actually I believe that was at Coney Island the year before Kings Island opened in front of Shooting Star.
  17. Beast and Diamondback
  18. Every time I ride this ride I end up getting blinded by the sun when going up the lift hill, so I would recommend trying the ride on a cloudy day.
  19. If it's anything to improve food service I am all for it, the lines there were most of the time extremely long last season. I doubt a Coke Freestyle shop would be put there seeing as there is one right next to it at the train station that they never keep that one open. I have a feeling it could be something along the lines of FunPix as someone mentioned earlier, but hopefully with that loss there will be a gain of more up time at the Coke Freestyle shop at the train station. I doubt a FunPix kiosk is going to require as much labor as an area that served as much food and drinks as they did.
  20. Looks like they now have the full calendar up.
  21. I think with the unseasonably warm weather we had this December that Winterfest would have been a huge success. Unfortunately, Cincinnati is not the easiest city to predict weather patterns so I can also see why they wouldn't want to take the risk. But still, just to go to Kings Island in December and maybe get a few of the rides that aren't required to be down for winter maintenance would be a great time.
  22. Ugh... another ball bouncer at 29:21... would love to just go up to him and kick the ball away
  23. I just saw this on Kings Island's official Twitter page as well, pretty cool! Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  24. It seems like everything across the board is having attendance dwindling (with the exception of BLSC which had an awesome team this year that kept the line moving consistently). If I had to guess on reasons why this is: - Kings Island has been adding more rides such as the gliders and spaceship rides this year and Banshee two years ago, which spreads out ridership. - Some entertainment has been top notch such as Playlist Live! and Cirque Imagine (RIP) which pulls away from ridership - Food service lines have been atrociously slow, which as Terp mentioned, either draws away the crowds or has them leave the park for several hours then come back Obviously these aren't the only reasons, but it's just what I thought of off the top of my head.
  25. Would be great if there was a 2k15 but NFL did an exclusive contract with EA Sports
