  1. It depends on what Kings Island and or Six Flags want to do. History shows us that they will turn off the fountain at later Haunt even though they don't build snowflake lake. Same with the light on the tower so it closes down earlier than needed, although it seems it's been down more than up this year. I used to think these budget decisions were made by corporate, but the more I read/ hear/ think, Mike Kootnz is making the call. For example, according to what he said in Evan's book, he made the decision to kill Vortex after a rough ride one morning. At the spring conference, he said he made the decision to remove the fountain pedestals. Did he make the decision to switch to Sysco mini chicken chunks? Did he decide that rides positions can be eliminated? Did he make the decision that the KI theater was going to be dark for much more of the season than it should be? That Icees do not have lids? That they are/were playing jazz in area 72? Or were these all decided by corporate?
  2. Depends on if Sysco cut them a deal on the frozen minis!
  3. Watch the parade tonight. Being twilight or semi dark ( depending on what area you watch it in) adds so much to it. The lights on the floats, the buildings, trees and fountains ( and Coney Mall Midway...I didn't watch at the tie dye shoppe stop) were perfectly executed. So much better than a 7pm or 8pm parade. They have outdo e themselves with the parade this year in spite of floats being cut. I have a feeling this will be the last year of the event. It has declined so much from 2019. I wish they would do it to that level ( except move India to a better location than Tower Gardens) or put it out of its misery. The parade can't carry the event.
  4. I think starting in the Kings Parks that have boo blasters would be a good gauge. Would it replace Justice League at legacy Six Flags parks? No, it would make sense to continue their DC comics IP. But for a park like ...I dunno, Great Escape. If they have a dark ride that's nearing the end of life, try PT there. ( Just don't replace the boat/ dark ride at SFOG, it's really cool!)
  5. Not to mention, @johnjniehaus, Phantom Theater is an IP they already own. They could use it at all parks and pay no royalties. Plus they have a show ready to go to introduce it to new parks, merch templates, etc. If done correctly it could be lucrative to Six Flags.
  6. If they are going to redo the ride, and it's not going to be a Phantom redo, Peanuts makes logical sense. A four seasons ride would work well as a nod to Smurfs concept, and would tie in well with the Peanuts IP. I don't think there should be a shooting element, as I'm frankly surprised we still have shooting rides that are geared for children.
  7. I am just guessing, but that is a premium space. It's vastly underutilized. The main seating area would be a terrible place to loose for the plebes, even if it's just a WinterFest buffet. There is a party room on the Swiss Building side, but they may use that for corporate events, internal meetings etc. Just be happy the prestige passholders get tap water and yesterday's leftover food in a big trough. That's an upgrade, last year it was just chili! ( The last paragraph is parody and in now way represents the truth of any food choices in the VIP lounge)
  8. He did say that, although phrased differently: " end of its serviceable life..."
  9. I like Snake River Falls better....wish it could be relocated.
  10. This makes me sad. It was a fun ride! Is it an Arrow ride? I was told that this week by a CP friend. It has a twin at Dorney.
  11. You'd have to be a paying customer to enjoy the Icee lid!
  12. But your comment about no comment speaks volumes. Respectfully, when do you think you are going to recover from your prestige pass experience? I get it, your trust is gone with anything having to do with KI management and communications, but is it emotionally healthy to carry that burden around for almost a year and a half? Why not let it go and realize that you can't control it and just enjoy the things at the park that you can enjoy?
  13. Palace is owned by the Parques Reu...sorry I can't spell it haha. They open several other venues in North America but I don't think they are under the Palace umbrella. The article said north American properties generate approx 33% of the revenue for the company....are they looking at selling Palace, the other properties or all? This is going to be interesting!

  15. I rode Soap Box Racers the other day. I'm not the biggest fan of going backwards, but I figured that since it's a kiddie coaster, it wouldn't be bothersome. I was wrong. It was a little more forceful than I expected, so I had to sit down and drink some ice water. I enjoyed the ride and think it's an overall good addition...shame that they had to denude the log flume of more trees though. Things are fairly well themed, and hopefully will be kept up. Beagle Scout Acres looks great and was packed with kids having lots of fun. It filled a great need for the area. It did have a noticeable smell though. I hope they can fix that.
  16. Hence my viewpoint
  17. Regarding the potential implementation of a drone show at the park during the "Haunt" event, it is my assessment that such an addition would likely enhance the event's appeal to younger audiences, thereby rendering it more "family friendly." The proposed drone show at 10 PM, without traditional fireworks to mitigate disturbances to local residents, will inevitably prompt dissatisfaction among passholders. Furthermore, the entrenched visitor behavior of departing the park post-show suggests that the introduction of a drone show could inadvertently lead to earlier park closures, as the audience might vacate the premises upon its conclusion. Anything they can do to close earlier, they will. In the context of WinterFest, a drone show conducted three nights per week appears excessive. Given the event's extensive illumination displays, the introduction of drone shows might contribute to sensory overload. This scenario underscores the adage that "less is more." Conversely, the integration of a drone show with fireworks on New Year's Eve could provide a compelling spectacle, symbolically bridging the transition between the old and new years. It is my contention that while the inclusion of drones alongside fireworks is becoming increasingly expected, the latter can still stand alone effectively. However, the practical consideration of battery performance in cold weather must be addressed to ensure the viability of drone operations in winter conditions.
  18. That's the most beautiful and themed garbage bag that Six Flags has ever had on display! I almost think it belongs in a museum!
  19. A true "leak" has occurred. A local news station has secured the pov and the name. It was posted on a social media fan site. Looks phenomenal!
  20. Or just not buy a pass. This is the first time since I've been an "enthusiast" that regret buying a season pass. The passport was definitely a waste of money, I had only planned on using it at CP and maybe WOF, but if I've only been to ki less than a handful of times, I certainly didn't feel like those trips. Maybe I'm aging out of this hobby or maybe I need an extended break lol.
  21. Please, for the love of Scooby Doo, put a new Six Flags policy in place than bans adult onesies
  22. Only if they could replicate the iconic Arrow lift hill sound.
  23. Did Carowinds even have carnivale this year?
