  1. I went to Knott's in 2017 with a platinum. There was some information floating around that Knott's did not include free parking. Of course that was seven years ago (yikes!) and a different pass, but I had no issues. I only ran into issues with the meal and drink plan since ki wasn't open yet but those were resolved easily. For me personally, it's not that big of a deal unless this becomes chain wide. That would end my all parks run. It seems as is Cedar Fair is becoming more like six flags with unneeded pass complexity.
  2. Last weeks Coaster Radio featured a segment on the assumption of the removal of the ride. Can't remember if it was a first drop or quick hit.
  3. SIX earnings call, in a very brief read, looks dismal. FUN would be wise, if possible, to renegotiate...if they were in a strong position, which they are not. Of course, this is from a cursory glance and I'm not a financial expert.
  4. If sharing your content on this forum to drive traffic to your site for clicks, using a clickbate title is hate... Oh, then there is this recent gem where you "hate" on someone else....
  5. Good grief! How is this "breaking news?" It has been released by the park on their channels and discussed here. I mean, let's call the OG iPhone "breaking news" in your channel's next segment!
  6. What a great surprise! Came home after work and gym, and my Tablo DVR had recorded the Brady Bunch Cincinnati Kids !
  7. Looked at the camera, looks like we have support and track in place.
  8. I don't think so because that's where Fess Parker wanted to build his park. If I remember correctly, they had moved forward with the Kings Mills site before they got the banks to push Fess out. I wonder what things would be like if we had Walton/Verona Island Instead? ( Yes I know that's further south than Fess's site).
  9. I see the Eiffel Tower, B&M track and support, and a palm tree representing Soak City. I can see part of the "l" at the end of KI Central and the line that's under the current image. I also see "the woods".
  10. @Hawaiian Coasters 325...you sure like your brews, wine, and saloons don't you?
  11. They all look like a 4th grader blindfolded, in the middle of Mammoth Cave drew them.
  12. Like sands through the hourglass and Voban through the deck boards, such are the incomplete projects that get shelved. Meanwhile, there is a great history book by @KIghostguy and an awesome coffee table book by @Shaggy that can fill the historical needs.
  13. Kings Dominion and Kentucky Kingdom that I know of off the top of my head.
  14. Like many other things from last season.. Not washing midways ( moms notice), trash bins overflowing...less monsters and Christmas characters... People do notice outside of the enthusiast community. These decisions eventually will bite them in the row 18.
  15. Someone with knowledge help me. As I understand it: 1. SEC has given the blessing for the merger. 2. Now on March 12, SIX shareholders will vote to approve or deny. 3. DOJ is/was asking for further information based on SEC request. Does the SEC blessing mean that the DOJ review is no longer needed? 4. If government is satisfied and SIX shareholders approve, the merger is ready to consummate? 5. Finally, the new company will trade under FUN but the corporate entity will be Six Flags. Will the new company have shares or units? One thing that made FUN attractive to investors was the corporate structure which provided tax benefits.
  16. When you rename all your Google devices after KI. Driveway cam- international street Backyard cam- Sycamore Holler Main TV- Kings Island Theater Secondly TV- international showplace Front Door Cam- Front Gate Dog camera- Lion County Safari Nest Hub- cinema 180 Yard cam west- Rivertown
  17. According to the article, the individual parks will retain their names. This is just a name for the holding company. Perhaps a change will come in the future. Or not.
  18. I don't see how they could be labeled as crooks. They refunded passes and allowed gift cards to be redeemed or refunded. (Or maybe it was part of the contract of sale that mama would bear those costs and mama was the money source). Coney owners took away memories past and future most likely. But the only people who know the rationale of selling are the ones involved...not us. Maybe it was a decision made in October. Passes already sold. Maybe it was made two years ago, but they relied on pass sales money to run their business. People seem to forget that 4 years ago, we started to hear about a highly contagious virus in China around now, the likes of which has had devastating effects worldwide. Imagine if you made 100k in 2019. Things are going great! Now in 2020, because of sickness, you only make 10k. Then in 2021, you only make 40k because you owed the 60k to you banker. And your costs for everything have gone up exponentially, taking away 20k. In 2022, you claw your way up to 90k, but your costs have gone up more, so now you are just taking away 60k. In 2023, you've gone back down again to 80k and your costs remain steady at 30k. Now you have 50k. In four years you have made $140k. Had a catastrophic event not happened, all things being equal, you would have made 400k. You are barely surviving, if at all, because you lost 360k. This is why we see things like Coney Island close and SIX and FUN combine. I'd expect more fallout for years.
  19. Actually, post merger, it will be FUN, not SIX that will have to make these decisions. The ticker will be FUN, but the company will be called Six Flags. This is going to take some getting used to.
  20. RFYLCB to Kings Mills Log Flume Backlot Stunt Coaster to what the area really looks like to Junkyard Coaster The Area Formerly Known as Coney Mall to Coney Mall Woodstock Express to The Beastie (this could bring back nostalgia and tie into Camp Snoopy (ghost stories are told around campfires!) All the buildings on International Street to their countries--The Spanish Building, The Italian Building, etc. Drop Tower to something more original
  21. 2023 was truly a let down, but for perspective...2022 was arguably the BEST season for Kings Island. So there's that. The park ambassadors were a true asset, but in doing their job flawlessly, they were largely invisible. I do think it's a portence of things to come. In fairness though...Cedar Fair historically runs great parks. I dont think 2024 will be anything close to the terrible Viacom/ CBS years.
