  1. @DispatchMaster, you seem very illogically committed to an idea that you have a very small chance to win in this forum Using haughty tones, even if inferred in a static written message, will not influence people. Whatever side folks are on, everyone, let's try and agree to disagree. As my ninth grade English teacher would say: "People, people. Love one another and use your study skills!"
  2. Don't give them ideas! They may remove The Bat 2.0 and build a giant Coke marketplace and restroom on The Vortex plot. The Bat side is The Bat's Den. Restroom side features squat toilets like they have on Filipino trains. It will be called The Abyss of The Vortex. (Coke marketplace jokingly stolen from the Tower Topics podcast)
  3. Thanks! The budget cuts were really noticeable with very reduced numbers of scareactors, but the the ones who were in action were excellent. Park looked busier than it actually was. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a house or ride. I just wish Effie had been open.
  4. Trip Report for Kings Island - Last Sunday We arrived at Kings Island on Sunday around 6 pm after getting off work late. The atmosphere on International Street was a bit lacking in terms of monsters, but the fog added a nice touch to the ambiance. We checked out "Cornered," although it didn't quite live up to the previous year's experience. "Alien Abyss" left something to be desired, as it didn't deliver the scares we were hoping for. Our stay at Hotel Saint MicHELLe was a highlight, providing a great experience. "Slaughterhouse" was enjoyable, although there weren't many scareactors around. While the scareactors we did encounter were well-done, the British accents in Coney Mall left something to be desired. The situation with "Pumpkin Eater" was a bit puzzling. It seemed like they placed the old Pumpkin Eater in Vortex promenade without the iconic chant, and there was another version in Action Zone with a muted chant. The music on International Street didn't quite fit the spooky vibe, as it was high-energy and too loud. In Rivertown, the atmosphere sounds were good, but it was challenging to hear them. On the bright side, many of the rides were running exceptionally well. "Orion," "The Beast," "Diamondback," "Mystic Timbers," "The Racer," and "Adventure Express" all provided excellent experiences, with "Adventure Express" feeling particularly fresh. We managed to fit in all these activities, grab some food, and catch a couple of shows by 11 pm. The weather, cool and cloudy, added to the overall experience. It turned out to be a great night at Kings Island.
  5. Why are British accents a thing for scareactors this year? From clowns to international street...but not in Rivertown, thank goodness.
  6. Since the other thread was locked, it might be a good idea to lock this one too. People have established their camp. We can read what we read and infer what we infer. As my ninth grade English teacher would say: " people, people...love one another and use your study skills!"
  7. Having employees interested in stocking shelves ( socializing mostly) with backs turned to the register at closing doesn't help the matter.
  8. It's my understanding that Trailblazer does or did do continuous loading without a stop.
  9. That's awesome! But I think it is more fitting to area 72.
  10. I just wish they would leave Effie and Roya alone until Haunt is finished.
  11. Interesting to see all the Christmas lights going up from the webcam views.
  12. Sometimes, people like to complicate things more than necessary. But, my viewpoint is to make things simple to save myself hassle. I don't live in their shoes.
  13. Those supplies that you were worried about leaving in the car can be left at first aid. Glucose tablets can fit nicely in a zipper pocket as can an insulin pen either as a pump back up or primary source of insulin. If on a pump and/or CGM, extra supplies can be left at first aid. Dislodged infusion set or sensor is not emergent. Ive done all this for 11 seasons without issue. Epi pens would be a similar issue. There is no reason to carry around a kitchen sink in the park.
  14. First Aid is open until the last guest leaves the park.
  15. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me " Since the debacle that Cedar Fair has had with RMC, they have become very conservative with large investments, going with what they know. (TT2 is an outlier). I think they would want a more proven flyer from vekoma. Fly looks really good, but are there more of these in existence? If they wanted a flyer, I think they would go with B&M because the reliability. But even they are tricky and require more staff to operate.
  16. I don't know specifics metrics for an average pay per meal, but if an annual meal plan is $140 and it's used 20 times, the cost per meal is $7. Id guess the cost to Kings Island would e around $1.50 or $2.00 including labor, shrink and waste. If they didn't have a meal plan, the passholder might only buy 3 meals a season and either pack a meal or go to Wendy's. So Kings Island 's cost per meal escalates sharply. They still could make the same $7, but sell much much less. So would you rather have $21 for 3 meals or $100.00?
  17. ^if they could have spinning vs not spinning cars on each train, could they do a queue separation in the line, similar to how The Beast has a front/back split point?
  18. Maybe I misunderstand what an "extreme spinner" is. If it has a magnet that controls the spin in a very controlled manner, is it still extreme? Can they allow some cars on the train to not spin? Best of both worlds?
