  1. I mean, yeah! And bringing in an additional coaster--a Swartzkoff at that!
  2. Will give it a spin! Also, I was notified that my order shipped. Excited!
  3. This is outstanding. Never been to either park, but IB is on my short list for this summer.
  4. O'Rourke has shared Vortex demolition pictures on Facebook, which puts a bookend on this thread.
  5. Hannah-Barbera returns to the Tri-State area with Yogi Bear! And by Tri State, I'm being a little generous, it's Kentuckiana. Specifically, Kentucky Kingdom. Yogi will be in the 5D cinema this year. Ironic.
  6. And I thank you and the others who did it! You truly put an overlay on KI that made it magical.
  7. That's not entirely true--the vaccine itself is "free" (funded by the taxpayers), but the entity administering it may charge an administrative fee. Most places do not, but some do. @SnakePlissken, I don't want to contradict your employer, and I don't know the circumstances, but in KY, there is no mandated place to get it. Local health departments, private pharmacies, chain pharmacies and super sites are all open for anyone over 60 (or maybe 50 here) and first responders/health care workers were first on the list. It is not acceptable that as a first responder who puts himself in harms way, that you have not had an opportunity to get one of the vaccines. Speaking of first responders, have you checked out Firstnet phone service? It's a banging deal and I love my service. It was opened up for nurses about a year ago and I haven't looked back--excellent service at a very affordable rate.
  8. @IndyGuy4KI...Poor Coaster Sally. You confused him again.
  9. Richard Kinzel also did not have to navigate the parks through a global pandemic that forced the closure of the parks, the late opening of the ones that could open and the limited operation of all open parks. Richard Kinzel also said he would not add a certain Intamin coaster to CP with all the problems it causes.
  10. So looking forward to this. And especially at this time in history.
  11. Let me give KK my money for Hot Chicken!!!! Re Christmas: Maybe they could pick up a park full of Christmas from WOF.
  12. I dont know. But a vat of BIC would be wonderful.
  13. I didnt know there were jungles/rainforests in Losantasville!
  14. I had a dream that the Eifel Tower did not meet state requirements and had to be removed. It was replaced with a hologram. But it had a physical presence--you could ride up in a virtual elevator, you could go to the 50 foot level. But if stopped believing it was real, it disappeared from under your feet and you fell. I never fell, but I think if you did, you ended up falling into a vat of soft blue ice cream.
  15. The vaccine process is complicated, but is getting better. With the way 66% of the formulations have to be stored, it makes logistics difficult. But it has been rewarding volunteering myself and my students to put shots in arms.
  16. Man, that is one giant Sceamin' Swing! I like your ideas of The Vortex replacement being part of Rivertown instead of Coney. The Beast water looks good, too. The saloon and candy shop--do they replace the pathway, or are they backset towards the Junkyard Coaster? Would the saloon be open air, or enclosed like the Brewhouse? It would give an opportunity to use all the space available and give some great seating areas to view the new coaster, while shielding the view of the Junkyard Coaster. Very good concept!
  17. @SonofBaconator If Herschend were to acquire HP, they might remove the Intamin roller coasters since they don't have any in their tiny, insignificant parks.
  18. What is the significance of the shirt color? The only thing that really sticks out to me with the uniform is the billboard sized Cedar Fair SUPERVISOR letters on that level of employee.
  19. Chain lube, Sweete Shoppe, the Area Formerly Known as Coney Mall around Coney BBQ, paint on wood and metal railings in the sun, and WWC when you are on the back part of Diamondback. Please, though, no sweaty butt smell that arises on a humid day in a crowded queue like The Beast.
  20. I have noticed on social media feeds that KK's posts have ramped up exponentially. The KKSPH group is becoming more active and it seems more GP-type folks are commenting. It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds--a new player in the market and a still struggling environment in the Covid reality.
  21. I'd like a small-medium sized wheel in the Oktoberfest ruins. I think a giant wheel would be too distracting, and it terrified me at KK and CP. lol
  22. Whenever I smell asphalt, I think of the 70's/80's at KI.
  23. ^ I don't know, nor did I claim that is was going to happen. I just speculated. Unlike some other recent folks on here, I didn't claim it's going to happen.
  24. Thank you @Shaggy and @Gordon Bombay for your insights and knowledge. I absolutely love KK. I live a little over an hour away in Kentucky. But I consider KI my home park and go there twice as much as KK. I suppose that is for the sake of nostalgia--my first memory is of being scared of the log flume (after waiting for over an hour) and being consoled in the wisteria tunnel. That being said, KK is vital to our region and has done amazing things since reopening in 2014. What they did there was nothing short of miraculous and Ed Hart's vision has enabled that.
