  1. ^ I know your video is just an example, @SonofBaconator. But please, none of those over the shoulder restraints.
  2. I heard it was Jim Cantore when he stopped by Cincinnati to have lunch with the local news celebrities on the way to a blizzard! (Dippin Dots guy at CGA told me his peer at Fiesta Texas said his friend at Great Adventure heard it from the septic tank guy at Camden Park).
  3. Gotcha, thanks. OldSchool is a content beginner, but not a content finisher. His documentary fell thru because of COVID travel restrictions, of I remember correctly, but above he mentioned money so I'm not sure why his project wasn't completed.
  4. It wasn't my intention to nitpick his video but to offer a friendly piece of advice. Apologies if that is the way it is taken.
  5. I enjoyed the video about something I love to eat. As you hone your skills, I think your confidence will grow. I am not a content creator, so I admire your commitment to starting something and finishing it. If I may offer a suggestion: work towards a conversational tone. Research is great, but don't read your content to the viewer. If it sounds like you are conversational, it makes it easier to process. Keep up the good work!
  6. I can only speak for myself. The work is much appreciated, but the park needs to devote more resources to getting the event off the ground. Add to the team. Keep the team paid well. And maybe, just maybe, push the Winterfest prep back just a little and have a big enough team to get it done starting right after Haunt. The tree should not be up in the entry plaza, Royal Fountain needs to operate and the ET should open during the last Haunt weekend.
  7. As someone who has lived with type one diabetes for 43 years, you really only need one thing immediately and that is glucose. A pack of glucose tablets and/or a tube of gel fits nicely in a pocket or the bag size they indicate. If you insulin pump infusion set comes undone, it's not an emergency. Neither is it an emergency if your CGM comes out. You don't need a suitcase full of cookies and candy. Most glucometers and supplies can fit in the small bag. Extra supplies can be left in the car. Or, check in with your small bag, go to guest service or first aid and get documents for leaving a couple extra supply set and insulin at the first aid building. It's not that hard or dramatic.
  8. Maybe the water infused with chili will catch on outside of the VIP area!
  9. Not a dime because I didn't reserve. The igloos dont appeal to me because Winterfest is only 5 hours and there is so much to do. NYE is the only night I would consider, and I have to work this year
  10. I would love to have a flyer vs a wing. Unique to the market. More fun than a wing (subjective, I realize). I would even have no problem waiting a few years for a big, record setting coaster that ties into the Junkyard coaster space (if it's retired/relocated) and the entire area cleaned up. I think the train route renovations were a positive and to the best of my memory, they could tie in to Losantisville. Undertaker, Inn, livery etc. This history was a predecessor to the gold rush Old West, but there was a major difference. As to Diamondback...I wouldn't expect major thematic elements being changed. The lexicon is a part of KI heritage now, And if the 30 year mark is the average expected service life of a large steel coaster, we are about half way there.
  11. Rivertown needs to reflect it's original purpose...a wooded pioneer era with the industrial era that started in Losantisville. Not a Wild West town filled with dust and saloons that you would see in gold rush era in Californie, Arizona or Nevada. Big difference.
  12. Oh, but according to the Dippin' Dots guy, you will get a vat/crate of yesterday's chili dumped into the lawn in Soak City VIP area, and the room monitor at the drypark VIP area will throw old rice and beans from Hanks at you. Maybe they will give a choice of chili infused ice water or leftover KI salad infused water? (unless the Dippin' Dots guy was telling the truth, this post is satire)
  13. I'm ok with it if the park continues to improve the experience next year. Contrary to what many think, it will take some time to recoup from the 2020 and to a less extent, 2021 losses. I'd rather have the 2022 experience with more improvements in 2023 than a new major attraction. Those will come. However, they probably should plan something major for 2024. For example, I have decided not to renew my Kentucky Kingdom pass for next year. I'm not mad, bitter or jaded, I just want to see something added. Pumpkins will be great for the park, but HFE needs to add something big to KK to make a statement. I feel if CF does KI 2024 without something big, some passholders might begin to view it the same way I am vieiwing KK.
  14. You have got it all wrong. For Haunt, instead of the snacks for the two hour Friday night VIP area, they will have the attendant throw the leftover beans and rice from Hanks to Prestige Passholders. This has been in the fridge ever since the previous Sunday. I heard it from the Dippin' Dots guy.
  15. @disco2000can I get an AMEN?! This was one of the best wall of text I've seen out of you....but....where are ....all the.....at???
  16. It replaces it. When it's gone, it's gone. Dumped right out in the grass.
  17. Soak City's Prestige Pass area will be in the large grassy area and will have a boom box playing top hits from Van Halen and Twisted Sister. Once a day, they will dump out a vat of yesterday's leftover Skyline Chili and infuse some water from the leftover KI Salad mix.
  18. Likely related to pandemic. In 2020, there were capacity limits. In 2021, there were staffing issues. In 2022, people came to the park and spent record amounts on money. So they didnt need traditional ads.
  19. You mean the Christmas Tree is not set up yet?
  20. I like the idea of putting a coaster that goes outside of The Vortex footprint, but in my mind, keep the track along the pathway. When the Junkyard coaster reaches the end of service life, remove it and replace the entire are from the Eifel Tower to the new coaster with a promenade with smaller pathways, remove the circular paths. Put in lots. of shade, elaborate gardens , benches and grandparent friendly flats, Pop up food stands. This area could be called the Parisian Promenade. I may have mentioned this before, if so apolgies.
  21. I hope he doesn't retire, but if he does, I hope he is given a title like VP/GM Emeritus.
  22. While a dark forest theme would be nice, it would require...trees. And If they started planting even large boxed trees (expensive) this fall, it would be years before they grew in enough to complete the theme. I'd rather see a phased in approach with Oktoberfest getting some flats and theming first. Do some background work in AZ and then retintroduce it as something to pay homage to the OG land it was--safari themed. We have a great templated about 8 hours southeast of here we could use...
  23. What would people whine about? I could whine about the lack of ornate lamp fixtures on IS and the Junkyard Coaster. @Benjamin22 could whine about no new ride for 2023. @BoddaH1994 could whine about reading about Tower Gardens here vs in the local media. I could go on an on... *disclaimer...this post is satire. No malice intended.
