  1. Which is worse: The Junkyard Coaster, The former The Crypt building, or the trashy white tables on IS?
  2. I think we waaaaaay over think things like this. When the time is right for sewage, food and merchandise, it will happen. To justify the cost, I'm sure the infrastructure would be part of a gig..er big project. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  3. ^^ Being a native Kentuckian and pretty much in the middle of the Bourbon Belt, I had never heard of this adult beverage until this post. I learn the darndest things here...
  4. ^So interesting that people can have different experiences. I've been mostly satisfied with food quality this year and have noticed time spent in line waiting for food. I've noticed more international workers in the food service locations. Granted, I have the ability to go on slow days during the week, so my experience is framed around that.
  5. Let's not forget this is a small park, not part of a corporate chain. Remember the Storm Chaser teaser? This is a definite step up from that. Underpromise and overdeliver. (Sidenote, to give people an idea of how KMAA would look, KI could have easily done something like this. Yes, I realize it is "just" a bunch of antique cars, but at least give it some perspective.)
  6. All ya'll wanting restrooms in X-base. I want restrooms near The Crypt. If you marathon The Beast, it is a fur piece to get to BLSC or the Snoopy restrooms. Maybe they could covert the big brown box into the world's largest restroom?
  7. ...without a ride on The Beast. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  8. I'd venture a guess that SOB was more expensive. As much as I LOVE Kings Dominion, I wish we had got Dominator instead of Firehawk. I understand why it went to KD, and laugh to myself when I think about the name. At GL, it was renamed Dominator before it went to Dominion. Foreshadowing, indeed.
  9. @upstop I had heard somewhere that Paramount was going to replace it with a Giant Wheel and have the Paramount stars incorporated somehow. I don't know if it was sarcasm or legitimate. I was fairly new to the enthusiast community.
  10. Please, do not send that junk to Kentucky Kingdom. Conversely... Kentucky Kingdom, please do not take this junk. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  11. Glad Vortex is safe (for now). Firehawk was a one and done for me. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  12. It's no secret that the fair board has land available for park expansion...most notably the flat spot between the water park and the hotels, near where the Starflyer is. I think the height limit is around 200 feet here. Also, between there and Storm Chaser, there is plenty of land, and as we've been told, as businesses leases expire, the fair board is leaving open for park expansion. 13. He knows exactly what he is doing. And I'd conjecture that at this point he knows what he needs to know about the project. (IIRC, in an interview here on KIC, he doesn't know details until the time is right so he can maintain plausible deniability.) Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  14. Ohhhhhh, now it all makes sense! To raise cash, CF is selling off KI (restinpiecesKI) to Ed Hart et al. Firehawk IS moving to KK. Ed will begin his chain of Kings/Kingdom parks. How could I have been so blind? Note: this is sarcasm. @Ben43065, good eye on the CF logo. I was wondering if there was a clue in it myself.
  15. I know, @VortexBFForever. Just giving you a bit of grief--some people get so wrapped up in speculation that they will take any little thing as a clue.
  16. ^ @VortexBFForever, you speak of Firehawk in past tense. #Firehawkremovalconfirmed
  17. Man, you've been on quite the critical roll lately! Maybe we need to switch your personal concierge from Dennis Spiegel to Dick Kinzel!
  18. You mean spending money wisely, underpromising and over delivering? Or reopening a park that was abandoned for several years and had a bad reputation? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  19. If you watch and listen to the video the park put out today, you might be able to hear a sound that a bird (maybe a hawk?) would make. Most noticeable around the .11 mark.
  20. My two cents: In my experience, the service aspect was much better this year on my visits. Rarely longer than a 5 minute wait. Food quality has improved. Quantity is still enough for two people. (And I am a big guy; i rarely finish my meals.) Of course, my experience is based on the days I visit the park. I usually go on slow days. Kentucky Kingdom has the quality, quantity and speed of service. It's becoming a benchmark for me--as well as Knoebels.
  21. The next video teaser has been released on KK's YouTube channel. Whatever its going to be its called "Kentucky Flyer." Anybody have any guesses? Please...please,,,,please...not Firehawk relocated to the park!
  22. Interesting sight on the Banshee webcam. They must have a fog machine positioned high up at Wolfpack. Fog is coming from the top of the building on the SW side and drifting towards The Bat. Or it's on fire. LOL
  23. ^Can you blame them, though? No need to reinvent the wheel. Best practices are best practices. And the food service is miles ahead of the large competitor in Mason.
  24. I was going to post this link last week, but I couldn't post on KIC for some reason. Will be interesting to see what they have planned, but I don't like that they used #whatsinthewind.
  25. All things considered, I'll throw this out there: I brought my elderly parents to KI for the first time since 2011. The bring a friend tickets played a roll in this because they can't do many rides (they did the Eiffel Tower, Boo Blasters and the train.) I also brought, on a different day, a friend from first grade. She had not been since 2009. She can ride everything and we had a blast. Besides the money they spent in the park (meals, ice cream and Sweet Shoppe items), both my parents and my high school friend plan to visit again next year. My parents are looking forward to KMAA and my friend just might be a budding enthusiast after a terrific experience. FTR: my parents and friend are not low brow surly folks. While the gate giving surely did attract these types, I believe it did attract some quality folks too.
