savesonofbeastfb
Greg released what the 40th anniversary cup for Kings Island on twitter about a hour ago. Here is the link... http://twitter.com/#...4947072/photo/1 I personally like the design but miss the old larger cups.
Hendrick
But we don't have a blue roller coaster At least not that color blue. There must be a repaint coming!
beastrider97
Something else I noticed. They are painting Snowy River Rampage! One of the most underrated slides I've been on, seems to finally be getting some love! On topic, I love the cup design. Great that the park is officially commemorating the anniversary. savesonofbeastfb
I like what the park is doing by painting most of the old Boomerang Bay water rides.
savesonofbeastfb
Hendrick , Invertigo was painted blue this season.
Hendrick
The track itself is turquoises. The supports are that royal blue that is featured on the cup.
savesonofbeastfb
I think they just wanted to use a blue coaster track because the cup itself is blue. Unless they are hinting something...
FOF1996
I really like these cups, and like you, maybe they are hinting at something? Maybe a new coaster for 2013?
flightoffear1996
I like what the park is doing by painting most of the old Boomerang Bay water rides. I thouht the snowy river ride was kind of dull. I used to like it when I was kid but it doesn't seem like it goes up high enough on the turns anymore.

medford
Dippin' Dot guy's twitter says they're painting SoB blue and re-opening it later this summer.

Browntggrr
Dippin' Dot guy's twitter says they're painting SoB blue and re-opening it later this summer. This how rumors get started! Now there will be someone claiming SoB is being retracked with a blue steel track!
TombRaiderFTW
Hey guys, I just heard they're going to retrack Son of Beast with a steel blue track for 2013! I don't usually get that excited about the souvenier cups each season, but this one looks really nice. Might have to pick one up sometime.

CedarPointer
I hate the tall cups with the fire of 1,000 suns. They are impossible to get under the drink machine properly. I dearly miss the old Diamondback cups. I won't miss the creepy face in the clouds of the WindSeeker cups, though. I had been around those for weeks before I noticed that face. standbyme
I love that there is going to be a 40th Anniversary cup, and I like the design...but I am not a fan of that style of cup.

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME that they're NOT hinting at FUTURE plans in the DESIGN OF A COLLECTIBLE CUP!? GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR LOGIC!
Colonel_SoB_fan
I know why the coaster is blue. They secretly repainted Flight of Fear blue.

LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I bet that everything but the Kings Island 40th logo is generic and will be on all Cedar Fair cups this season. They'll just put the Cedar Point logo on there, and so on and so forth. Blue coasters and fireworks everywhere!
jcgoble3
Actually, I'll bet that they recycle the leftover WindSeeker cups from last year and use them at Carowinds and Kings Dominion.
CedarPointer
The WS cups said KI on the front and it was molded into the back plastic.
jcgoble3
Good point, but after taking a closer look at my two WindSeeker cups (one each from KI and CP), I notice that the CP one just has an image of the ride itself plus the name molded into it. So they could recycle those.
KI-ORIG-EMP
The most important question would be the drink capacity. Is it 20 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz?
jcgoble3
Last year's WindSeeker cup was 46 oz.
CedarPointer
I think it's 44. I think this is the cup they use: http://whirleydrinkw...UB&cat=cw&sub=s . Diamondback cups were 46oz IIRC. Paramount ones seemed to usually be 32oz. (WHY do I still know this stuff?! )
The Interpreter
When I first worked food service, a small soda was 10 ounces and cost a dime. A large was 16 ounces and was 15 cents. A. I'm old. (a 6 and a half ounce returnable bottle of Coke was also a dime, plus a 2 cent deposit). B. Why do *I* still know this stuff, 40 years later?
jcgoble3
According to a new post on their Facebook page, the 40th anniversary cup will be sold in both ocean blue and silver, but there will only be a limited quantity available. There will also be a Soak City cup.
