Kings Island adding two rides and other improvements for 2015

Featured Replies

Should be so blessed to have these additions: To a great Park already and a Park that beats out in the Universe the best Kids Park, that in many ways is beyond awesome.

Just saw this on Kings Island Facebook page, the Woodstock Gliders have arrived!

I can't wait until they begin to set it up so I can watch on the webcams.

Here it is for those without Facebook:

Hmm, it looks like Cedar Fair likes to do the decals on these rides themselves. It's awesome that they have these capabilities in-house.

It looks as if the item sitting behind the "planes" is indeed the ride's "tower" section.

I'm guessing that they haven't been delivered yet, as they are not pictured, but the arms of the ride, should have also been in the bundle.

That color scheme makes me think of Kraft Mac and Cheese.

No way!

Them's shells and cheese colors.

Just because shells and cheese is better. :P

I'm guessing that silver pole-like piece of steel is a central support for the ride?

Just wondering what other things may be happening in the back of the park that were not announced? Perfect time to slip something in/make changes, while all the webcams are facing everywhere but the back. lol

Were they to replace all of them, is there enough capex even available?

Terp, who loves perhaps misleading questions and, sometimes, missing punx.

Is the right side of the pic the side that is closest to the fountains?

^ That's what it looks like to me. I think the picture is taken in the former 80's store, looking towards Thrill Seekers.

Kings Island on Facebook :

"The construction of Woodstock Gliders, a classic flying scooters ride from Larson International, is underway in Planet Snoopy. The ride features eight two-person planes that glide 28 feet above the ground. Each plane has a stationary rear wing and a movable front wing which allows the rider to control the flight and alter their ride experience from mild to wild. Be among the first to experience Woodstock Gliders when the park opens for the 2015 season April 18."

I was talking to a guy at work the other day (another season pass holder with kids) about the petting zoo. I as a 42 year old big kid enjoyed it in Oct. for Haunt (as well as the trick or treating)

But here is my concern---How bad will it smell in the summer with 90 degree heat and most of the park downwind of it?

Thoughts?

Later,

Mark

As a long-time employee of a major U.S. food company, as well as a huge, life-long fan of Kings Island (my fandom is huge, not me) I'd have to say that the picture of the Flyers, with the Flying Ace Aerial Chase in the background, would make an awesome background for a commercial. I'm just sayin'!

Speaking of commercials, are they advertising for the 2015 season of Kings Island yet on T.V.?

I haven't seen one on T.V. yet but they are advertising on the radio.
