In the Facebook thread of the announcement (https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/posts/10153464055928368:0) someone asked about the preview for passholders and this was KI's reply:

There will be for passholders that renewed by the fall deadline.

So that answers that.

Unfortunately, it seems that I will be busy on Opening Day.

Depending on the details for the preview night, I might make a trip down for that.

So passholder preview night is likely to be the 17th?

Thrilled to see some nights open till Midnight. Riding Diamondback or The Beast in extreme darkness just enhances the thrills.

They typically stay open til midnight on Saturdays in July, and this is at least the 2nd year that they've included the last Saturday in June in that as well.

I also find it interesting that they're open from 4 til 10 on April 24th.

They did that last year on the Friday of the second weekend as well.

I highly doubt I'll be there the first 2 weekends for those are the weeks around exams. Might try the first Friday in May at the earliest.

I will probably be there at least part of the time on opening day, depending in part on when the passholder preview night is. If I end up taking a day off work for the preview night I'll probably go in on that Saturday. I'm trying to avoid taking a lot of time off until after May due to having two enthusiast events in the course of three weeks in May (Coasterstock and Holiwood Nights).

Edit: I found something interesting about the 2015 operating calendar. The last two Friday's during the regular operating season, the park is open 5pm to 10 pm. I find that strange.

I'm going to try to make it opening day, I just hope it's not as packed as last year, hopefully I'll be there, but until then I'll just keep watching YouTube videos, and pretend I'm at Kings Island.

You and me both.....I would think last year with Banshee debuting, That drove up the crowds alot.

Last year was the first time I went on opening day, We got to ride pretty well everyting we wanted.

After fighting crowds last year on opening day, I just might sit this one out. I don't know. If I'm not doing anything that day, maybe I'll ride out in the evening and catch a few rides. It depends on how I'm feeling, I guess.

I would be surprised to see massive crowds like last year on opening day this year. For one Kings Island isn't opening a major roller coaster this year.

And what was opening day 2013 like?

And I will NOT be at Kings Island opening day this year. I will be getting married to the love of my life that day! And then the next day we are off to our honeymoon in Southern California, where we will be indulging in some Disney fun (although we are both slightly bummed that both Matterhorn and Soarin` will be down for rehabs when we are out there.

I will be celebrating my 2 yr wedding anniversary that day. We were married on the 19th but going out Sat. ^also congrats on getting married.

As with all opening days at our home park. We plan to be there, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. It does not coordinate with my schools Easter break(Easter falls early in April this year). It would be fun though

i havent been to an opening day in 7 years. I may come for it.

I'll likely be there for preview day, whenever that may be. Opening day... eh... After last season, I think I'm good. Might go early and get a couple rounds in on Vortex while the bulk of the crowd heads straight for Beast, Banshee, and Diamondback.
