markr Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Now that the scooters have returned to KI I was thinking that it would be nice to bring back other old flats that have since left the park. I just saw an old photo of The Rotor ( showed people doing the silly stuff ) and this made me think about how much I missed that ride. I was thinking that it would be nice to have that ride back. ( If it was possible. ) Any thoughts on whether this is a possibility or am I dreaming? 3 Quote
malem Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Please, not a Rotor! It's one of the few ride experiences I thoroughly disliked, and I'd really hate to be in one during a protein spill! 5 Quote
markr Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Very controversial ride Malem. Seems like you either love or hate that ride. Quote

I can't even recall the last time you got excited enough to use exclamation points and/or underlining. 3 Quote
KI Guy Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 My vote would be the original eagles first. Second would be Cuddle Up. 7 Quote
Tanna Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 +1 vote for Skylab's return from me.Don't know how many ride ops would agree with you- there's a weird sideways gallop halfway around the ride until you meet up with the other checker, then back again the other way-Great for your outer thighs, bad on your knees. 3 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Tumble Bug was such an awesome ride! I'd love to see it "return." As I was walking by the big, open field that used to have Saltwater Circus and Burnout Spectacular, I kept thinking how nicely a nice, colorful Paratrooper ride would look in that space. Not something I remember the park having, but a nostalgic flat to be sure. 6 Quote
Nick_Plummer Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Skyride. It would be interesting to see that come back. 7 Quote
kingsislandfan1972 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Winnie Witch's Cauldrouns would be a great idea to return to Kings Island, as I've said before. 7 Quote
purdude86 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Der Spinning Keggers. A spinning teacup style ride is something missing from the park now, and it would help build Oktoberfest some too. Could go where the ladder game is, I think there's enough space there for a small flat like it. 7 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I wonder if there are certain rides that they simply could not bring back at this point for insurance would not cover them. For instance, a skyride! 1 Quote
Tr0y Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 A Ferris Wheel, Enterprise, or Trabant come to mind. 7 Quote
NoChickens Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 The removal of the water fall in Tower Gardens only made it more obvious how under utilized that space is *. If the restroom across from Hank's was relocated closer to the tower, there would be more than enough room for 2, maybe even 3 classic flats. A Trabant, a Roundup, and though there was never one there, to my memory, a Tilt-a-Whirl, or a Shooting Star or........... The Coney Mall area could then start at the path that goes that way, maybe change Hanks to a Skyline. It would truly mean the end of Oktoberfest, but it seems that's a done deal. Vikings Fury, and Adventure Express don't really scream German to me anyway. Rebranding those 2 could be problematic. * Yes, even a dreaded smoker can see this. 4 Quote
purdude86 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Rather than expanding Coney Mall itself they could just utilize that space along with the area that did have Snoopy's Starlight Spectaular to put in a few flats and perhaps even being back the Les Taxis (make an electric version that doesn't use has possibly). Then just make that all part of Internstional Street and be a hub around the base of Eiffel Tower. Utilizing the Tower Gardens space along with the grassy areas you get get multiple flat rides in there. 5 Quote
Steph88 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I'd like to see one of those double skywheels. It's like a ferris wheel only more thrilling. I've only ever seen one at the Bluegrass Fair. It was a blast. Also I second the votes for a paratrooper. Would be great somewhere in Coney Mall. Also, a flying carpet ride. Those are SOOOO much fun. 2 Quote
BlondyRidesOn Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I like the idea of bringing back Les Taxis. The best location would be the area where Tower Gardens is. The French name could tie in with the Eiffel Tower and International Street, bringing back some sort of European theming without turning the area into the World Showcase at EPCOT. 4 Quote
Tr0y Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 The removal of killmart and the party plaza would open up a lot of real estate in Coney Mall to fit a bunch of these "Coney like" rides. 7 Quote
markr Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Perfect place for Rotor if possible to bring one back would be the location of old Flight Commander . At any rate, love the various suggestions as to flats that others wish we could bring back. ( Especially Cuddle Up.) 2 Quote

A Rotor would be great addition, but that type of ride could easily make its way into X-Base ( a place that has no flat rides or restrooms) and be themed as a UFO or something along those lines. 2 Quote
upstop Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 ^^Why not put a Gravitron in X-Base...it looks like a ufo. 4 Quote
upstop Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 How about something like this in X-Base, themed to look like a captured alien behind a chain link and razor wire fence. It actually has an awesome light show too. Â https://youtu.be/XPWqOkEKh5M Â https://youtu.be/WgIjz5xXHEs 3 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 That thing looks vomit-inducing. But, I really like that it has changing modes and a good long ride cycle. 3 Quote
BB1 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I would like a Rotor in the Coney Mall section, that would be a fun ride to have when I just want to spin around for a while. 4 Quote
