June 3, 201610 yr After watching the video Ohio Valley Coasters posted, I am now on Team GCI, it would make PERFECT GCI plaza, another amazing ride through the woods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLaxhld5QjI 3:45-In reference to the metal cages- "Maybe they should grow some kind of ivy or something on them." *facepalm*
June 3, 201610 yr Snake Pit was still open and selling cheesesteaks as of Coasterstock weekend. They were closed by the time I made it over that way tonight (around 7) but many food places closed early tonight, likely due to the weather scaring a lot of people off, but the sign still said Snake Pit and there was no evidence of anything changing there as far as food offerings go. Was there on 6/2 and it is now a hot dog and Italian sausage place with a new sign on the front.
June 3, 201610 yr The hot dog and Italian sausage place that used to be in Soak City is now gone, too. It is interesting, and I would hope it means there will be a new special themed food item, but I fear it is just more cutting corners/saving pennies in food service.
June 3, 201610 yr Bring back the Rib Pit!! ...but not with that horrible Heinz bbq. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
June 3, 201610 yr Everyone forgot one place. what about that Turkey Leg place I NEVER see open across from Adventure Express?

Maybe their cheese steak provider went out of business? Seems like training the food staff to make the cheese steaks and then later switching it to hot dogs is very weird.
June 3, 201610 yr Everyone forgot one place. what about that Turkey Leg place I NEVER see open across from Adventure Express?I've seen it open only a couple times... usually only on very busy weekendsSent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
June 3, 201610 yr This may seem far fetched, but... I was at the park yesterday and watched Cirque: Origins. I remember hearing at Coasterstock that it was specifically written for Kings Island. I could relate portions of the show to Coney Mall, Oktoberfest, International Street and Action Zone. Missing were Soak City, Rivertown and Planet Snoopy. (Unless Rivertown was represented by the set decor itself.) I left with the impression that something BIG is coming--that may be a return to the roots of what made KI so special, or a hint at what is coming in the future. But I had a feeling that some things are going to change. I for one am very happy with the nods towards the past: the renovations of the clock, calendar, the tower topiary, and the return of the wisteria tunnels (the wisteria has been planted about a week and it has already grown several inches and started to coil around the wire base!). My thoughts could be there because I want to see them, or they could be legitimate. Who knows?
June 3, 201610 yr Now that you mention it, I do sort of see that.... The pole= Effial Tower/I-Street, People in yellow = Oktoberfest, The finale = Action Zone. The ball entrance could be Soak City (a waterslide). However, I'm not really seeing the Coney Connection, unless that is just the show itself being a part of Live Entertainment. Good thoughts!
June 3, 201610 yr Anyone feel like running out to CSF and getting a picture of the tags on the gray track? They have two tags facing the road. Obviously my phone camera cant zoom in close enough. Sent from an Indestructible Phone
June 3, 201610 yr Are they being paint readied, Or are they actually painted grey? Is the best question to ask at this time.
June 3, 201610 yr Looks to me they have already been painted that gray color. Sent from an Indestructible Phone
June 3, 201610 yr If anything, it's probably a coat of primer or something. Look at the same gray color on the yellow piece next to it, on the portion that attaches to the support.
June 3, 201610 yr I agree with you to a certain point, but it still looks like the actual track color and not a primer color. Sent from an Indestructible Phone
June 3, 201610 yr From what I remember going there, they keep the unpainted track on the side of the building, not out front.
June 3, 201610 yr I guess I just find it hard to fathom someone would order a flat, matte gray coaster. Yuck.
June 3, 201610 yr I thought it was confirmed anything not green was for the wing coaster at Hot Go Park in China, but I could just have heard that on another website.
June 3, 201610 yr I'm not sure. I'm not an employee there. Just another curious person. If anyone knows for sure, I would be interested to know. Sent from an Indestructible Phone
June 3, 201610 yr Perhaps the yellow track and grey track are for the same coaster. Look at Lost Gravity for reference of how whatever park it's going to could pull it off.
June 3, 201610 yr Actually a question emerges. Why would they put a label on it if it's not painted? The grey is the actual colour. Which is a bit interesting... but at the same time, the grey on the yellow looks unpainted, while the grey on the grey piece of track actually looks painted grey.
June 3, 201610 yr Why would they put a label on it if it's not painted? They still have to keep track of the pieces throughout the process. imagine if they messed up labeling later and caused delays during the install
June 3, 201610 yr Swarm at Thrope Park has a color that isn't too far off from that grey track. That might be the final color.
June 3, 201610 yr I guess it will ultimately come down to the theme of the coaster whether the color will look good or not. I imagine for something aircraft/space themed it would look nice. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

June 3, 201610 yr I'm thinking that grey track will be heading to Silver Dollar City, seems it could fit in there, and they are getting something big next year.

It is interesting, and I would hope it means there will be a new special themed food item, but I fear it is just more cutting corners/saving pennies in food service. The physical stand was replaced by a come refill station, but the hot dogs and sausages are now at the stand by the upper wave pool (which previously had hamburgers). Hamburgers are now only at the main Soak City grill. Total Soak City food options is unchanged, plus a drink refill station has been added.
