There are survey markers that have been placed by The Bat queue. Attatched is a photo. A red marker indicates electrical line or conduit. Thoughts?

Just looks like they are pushing dirt away from that "shed." Don't think there is anything being demolished.

This sighting even makes the sight weirder.

As far as the instagram post...it's not necessarily reputable....if there really were folks seen walking around in suits checking it out, more would be reporting it.....most pages do this stuff for "likes."

True, but that doesn't explain the reason why they had bulldozersIMG_7663.PNG

Closer image shows what looks like is a bulldozer.

@gforce1994 I can't see anything demolished or that has been demolished.

The building you're seeing has been there for quite some time and is currently all standing. As of 4:32 today.banshee1.png

The same structure has been there and seemingly unchanged since 2015.

It might be leftovers from the Safari, since the stuff being moved looked like it came from a structure.

Except that area is historically the area where the park dumps dirt that is removed from elsewhere in the park when they have excess dirt that needs to be dumped somewhere. It is simply the dirt dumping grounds.  That way, they do not have to pay to haul the dirt away off site.

If they have that much excess dirt, they should be selling it, that way you don't have to pay anyone to take it off site.

On the other hand, if they need dirt, that don't have to buy it.

But Mystic Timbers didn't need a fill/excavation. Most of the ride was placed on terrain, exception being the footers for the steel trusses supporting the sections over water. So where is this dirt coming from?

The park built the foundation for the new restaurant in the water park which did require excavation.  Mystic Timbers is built above White Water Canyon which required filling sections of the ride with dirt for construction equipment which was removed from this field and returned at the end of construction.  The park also just built a new storage building which also would have required a foundation.

Yes, but the land that is excavated way exceeds the size of fill for the three sites. Plus storage buildings require mat footings, so the amount of soil excavated would be minimal in this situation.

All I can say is I remember seeing the dump trucks move the dirt from the construction areas to this field on the webcams.  A bulldozer was used to smooth it out so that it would not be left in a large mound.  This disturbed a huge area which is what I think you are seeing.

And don`t forget that footings for Mystic Timbers required some dirt to be excavated.  The amount of dirt cut or filled is actually a question on the City of Cincinnati building permit form.  If you have excess dirt after building a building, they want to know where the dirt is being moved to.

In the fall, after they closed WWC, they built a temporary road across it (to aid Mystic Timbers construction) by filling in the channel with dirt. This would have had to be removed and placed somewhere, again.

I remember seeing this in the construction photos, but it wasn't enough to equal the amount of dirt that's been dumped over there. Even if they had two crossings across WWC it still wouldn't have been enough. My estimation is well over 100 dump truck loads of dirt. The amount needed to fill in WWC, for its 6~ foot depth, plus the dirt above it would probably have been 10-20 truckloads of it by the time it was packed down and tall/wide enough to work with.

For the post before this one, no idea if Warren County has a stipulation in building permits about dirt removal and if they care where removed dirt goes.

They should tell employees to encourage all the speculation on new stuff, just to confuse people and generally keep hype levels increased.

So a ride element on the new coaser gets conplaints of being over-hyped, but now we want to hype up a dirt pile? Sometimes you guys confuse me.

I think the point is to be confused

It is quite clear that something is up, since the volume of the fill is larger than the accounted volume of the excavations from the construction this season. That alone means land is being excavated/filled in, but from where, and why?
