Looks like some new buildings have been added in Oktoberfest area of the park, located on the bottom right.  The second pic is some work is being done on the shed part of Mystic Timbers.

I don't think that is new construction in Oktoberfest unless you're seeing something I'm not. It looks like it is a prize storage shed behind the rope ladder game, that ordinarily would be blocked from view by the game. 

I think I had heard they were removing/replacing that game but I don't know if that is why it's been stripped down so much or if that's just normal off-season 

The new construction is in front of the rope ladder game to the right, right behind the Coke-Cola building that was added a few years ago.  Google Earth shows there  used to be lockers there before.   Added a circle for it. 

Oh, I just assumed that one was something added at the same time as the Coke Marketplace. Do we have any pics that might show whether it was there last year?

There were never lockers in the area by the Freestyle building and rope ladder games.

It has been awhile now but yes there was.  It was back in 2014.  

It almost looks like two shipping containers sitting next to other. Whatever it is for, it's pretty firmly in a "backstage" area tho. 

I agree,  it's in the backstage part, I can see the fence more clearly now.  No construction in that area confirmed then.

The buildings behind the freestyle building were added around September of last year.  I figured at that time that they would tear down the other arcade storage buildings but they have remained so who knows what they are for.

Maybe it’s storage for the “Coney Barb-a-Roni” Restaurant” project.

My guess would be Winterfest storage. They need that big of a building just for light storage.

Those look like shipping containers...likely storing items needed for construction of the new building. 

Mystic Shed -- probably adding a train back onto the tracks.

If was watching clearly on Friday to the Diamondback cam I saw a train car lifted up.

I think you'll are missing the major new addition in front of that shipping container... A FENCE!  and we all know that every coaster installation is preceded by a fence installation   I need a shirt: KI2018 We got a fence!

Seriously, it does make me wonder why the installed the fence.  If the shipping containers are for the restaurant, I would assume their contents would be emptied and they could be moved by opening day so that makes me believe that those containers or whatever they are will likely be there for a longer period to accommodate some sort of change in that area.

If memory serves me correctly, I think the ladder game is always taken down to that stage each offseason.  I'm sure there are screen captures from Banshee's construction that would confirm that or not.

hey we are making progress! A Fence!!

2018 should bring some more tree/ Vegetation growth around MT.   The vines covering the Whitewater Canyon path should start filling in, too.  It will be good to see.

Yes! Can't wait for the path way to be covered. It will bring back memories of the tunnel coming out of Hannah Barbara land.

I miss that in such a bad way!

There ate a lot of things that I miss about the old KI. That being said I am much happier with  have total faith in CF.

That would show consistency in both the story and the theme

I think it'd be cool if they added more random encounters with other "characters" from the park, such as The Beast, Banshee, and the aliens from Flight of Fear.
