silver2005
Canada's Wonderland is getting a giant Premier multi-launch coaster that will cram one more ride that utilizes the iconic center mountain of the park. Alpen Fury stats- (I converted everything from metric off the park's website) Height- 164 ft (154 ft drop) Speed- 71 mph with 2 launches, one just out of the station and the main one being below the mountain 9 inversions- most for a launch coaster in North America Length- 3280 ft
beastfan11
Looks like a really solid addition. Nice to see Premier getting some attention in the chain. Makes me excited to see what could occupy The Vortex spot.
johnjniehaus
This has probably become my most anticipated new coaster for 2025... I still can't believe how they managed to cram yet another rollercoaster inside wonder mountain. Does anyone know if any rides are being removed to make space for this coaster? I couldn't think of anything that I saw missing from the POV but perhaps there is a flat they removed for the station area that I am just not remembering at the moment? 9 inversions is pretty sick and I think this really has the potential to be their best coaster. Of course the 3 B&Ms are really really solid so it'll have some competition but from the video this looks absolutely amazing!
silver2005
They needed a launch coaster that isn't a Backlot clone as well, it was a glaring hole in their coaster line up.

I never thought about it until you said it... You are absolutely right that Backlot is their only launch coaster which isn't great. Canada's Wonderland has a pretty good collection of coasters (some of which aren't very good... looking at you, Flight Deck & Time Warp) but others are very good. The arrows are both classics, I personally love thunder run and wonder mountains guardian. The Bat is the best Vekoma Boomerang I've ever ridden (perhaps because it runs an arrow train?), and the two woodies should not be underestimated! They both will need some re-tracking in the next few years but they have amazing layouts. AlpenFury will be a great addition to the park and also showcase a different manufacturer other than B&M. I love B&M like everyone else but I do feel like many of their coasters have similar elements and after a park has 3-4 B&Ms perhaps it's time to utilize the strengths of a different manufacturer. DJSkyFoxx
Kinda giving me Velocicoaster vibes with all those rolls. Looks really graceful and fun!
DoomPlague
Seems like a good choice aside from everyone's issues with Premier trains. It compliments their lineup well and fills 2 major holes at CW: inversions and launching. Its good to see more rides from manufacturers not named B&M or GCI.
WoodVengeance
It definitely looks like it's going to be the best coaster Premier has ever built.
KIBeast
Could we possibly see a Premier launched multi-looping coaster in The Vortex plot? I wouldn't mind.

If it was anything like Alpen Fury, that would be great. Just as long as they put more than 2 trains on it.
Coastercrush
Intamin, mack, vekoma all make better products with better trains and capacity. Cedar Fair went cheap route and this is premiers largest scale product to date.
silver2005
Did I see that right in the CGI rendering that it'll have flames coming out of the mountain a la Volcano?!

I imagine people are going to start saying this is more of a Volcano replacement than Rapterra is.

TombRaiderFTW
It's a cool concept, with features unlike anything else on the continent, in an iconic location in the park. Love it. Totally agree with the Volcano comparisons, and I kind of love that another park is getting their own take on the concept. I'm a little concerned about capacity--Wonderland gets BUSY and two 18-passenger trains are a bit concerning. I also wonder if it'll have comfort collars, as those only make loading slower. But yeah, all in all, I think this'll be a win. Good for them!

The renders show that the trains do not have comfort collars, only lap bars.
silver2005
Now I'm curious if this was meant for KD before they decided to take down the volcano and they swapped it to CW and, maybe, the wing coaster KD is getting was maybe meant for CW? Considering the rocky relationship Cedar Fair has with Intamin, I’m not sure they’d go with them on a big project like this- they’d probably reintroduce them in a small way down the road if they wanted- think something like DarKoaster. As for Vekoma and Mack, it’s possible that other parks in the chain might receive something from them. If I were to guess, Cedar Fair is courting other manufacturers to see what they have to offer.

I don't think it was. A "blast coaster coming out of the mountain" was one of the options that Wonderland sent to passholders a few years ago.

In fairness, Intamin was the original manufacturer that pitched the TT2 idea. CF took that idea and out of spite gave the job to Zamperla. We see how well that’s working out. I agree tho, I think it would be best if both worked together on a smaller project. A Darkoaster would be an amazing addition to KI.

I would want a custom building for it so it fits the ride size better and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb link a certain box in Rivertown.
silver2005
Those beating the dead horse of capacity worries should also know that the ride lasts only 80 seconds. Launch coasters can get away with smaller capacity trains as it balances it out with short ride durations. 1
MisterSG1
It's a real shame though however the actual park has went downhill this season.

I went to wonderland last year and thought the park was very well run and the food options were pretty good. I had a wonderful time. What seems lacking this season? If I was blunt about the issue, I’d probably get banned, go look up the CanadasWonderland Reddit and you’ll see what has happened. A friend of mine from university who worked there told me that by the end of last season, they had brought in people from corporate because of the problems in the park.
BeeastFarmer
I can't comment on the internal, but the park was annoyingly crowded. That didn't bother me so much, but the inefficient procedures did. Lazy Bear Lodge...slow to serve the food. Think Coney BBQ with both sides open and lines to Coney Treats. One cashier. One drink stand. Backlot Cafe...no drink stations, you had to get your drink before entering, so wait in that line, then wait in a long food line, your drink was gone, hot or watered down (if the park had ice) Blue Ice Cream...4 people in front of me. 3 workers. Still took 20 minutes to get a cone. And they said they were not allowed to put it into a cup. Ride ops were great on most coasters, almost rivaling KI. Friendly too. Park wasn't very clean. Finally, the park can't control this, but the crowds....no sense of personal space. Children literally pawing at me. Teens cutting right in front of you on International Street...worse than KI teens. And the spitting...oh the spitting... Despite the dirty state of the park, it was beautiful. Still has some hints of Taft. 2

Like what are we talking about? Are we talking about everyone coughing up phlegm and spitting it out? We talking people chewing tobacco and spitting? I've never experienced that as an issue at a park before

Not a hawk tua thing and not a propulsion thing...just a spit. I mean I spit in the comfort and privacy of my own farm, but not in public.
