johnjniehaus Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Looking at the webcam now, the arms are indeed all on and they are now putting the smaller spokes on the ends of each arm (the smaller pieces that hold the pods) I can't make out of there are any pods on the pad yet. Curious if they are repainting the CP ones and that's what they hold up has been? 1 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Is it just me or did they also removed the left set of ques? Quote
mikejenkins1 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 yes appears most of the tubs are on. If open, this weekend I would expect long lines there as well...... Quote

Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If the line is short they intentionally only load one or 2 arms just to balance it. Quote

I know I'm just joking around about the fact that if the line isn't long you still end up waiting a bit for it because of the loading procedure. I think I've seen loading of 2, 3, 4, and 6 arms in the past depending on crowd levels at the park Quote
TheCrypt Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I don't know about you guys, but I feel like I've literally been waiting to ride it for more than a year. It's been crazy. 1 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Saw monster cycling today on webcam. If anyone thinks of it can you get some pictures of how it's looking? Did they fix all the lights and are all the ques still the same? Quote

johnjniehaus Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Looks like it's shined up a bit. Maybe fresh paint? Did they take the tube lightbulbs off the arms entirely? The round bulbs under the arms also look slightly different to me 1 Quote
DeltaFlyer Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Some of the pods appear to have a more matte finish than others. I’m wondering if those are from the CP ride. Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 18 Posted April 18 https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1bg2JaSt9C/ Appears to me that the ride is running a little faster than it did in 2024 when they noticably slowed it down to try and keep it going through the end of the season. Also, are my eyes deceiving me or are the new lights under the arms red? Also looks like they removed the green tube lights from the arms? 2 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Yes, red lights on the arms and then under the seats the traditional green and yellow lights. It is very bright. 8 Quote

Glad I got to see it for myself today! Looks fantastic and they had people in all arms not long before closing! 2 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 18 Posted April 18 While I wish they had restored the tube lightbulbs on the arms, I will say the red is kinda cool. Dorney Parks monster had red lights at night back before it was removed 1 Quote

Those colors look awesome! Now all we need is for the yellow tubes to return to the rotor at the top (please please please please please Kings Island just do it!!!!!) 1 Quote

The yellow and green bulbs below the seats were transferred over from the Scrambler after it's refurbishment in 2016. The current lights look new and appear to be LEDs. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I have updated our Monster page. The top photo was taken Friday and the one at the bottom of the page is from a few years ago. You can see the difference in lighting. https://kicentral.com/rides/monster/ 2 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Mixed feelings on the lights - I wish the tube lights had been replaced but in general it looks better now that all the light bulbs are working. There were a lot of burnt out bulbs two years ago last time I operated. Wish they had replaced the tube lights but it definitely doesn't look bad currently because all the bulb/globe style lights are working Quote
