johnjniehaus Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Got a survey from Busch Gardens Williamsburg that had some interesting new additions for the poll... Honestly I would be really excited to see some of these actually happen! 1 Quote
BeeastFarmer Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I think they used the same AI tech that @Hawaiian Coasters 325used for his Rivertown building;) 1 Quote
disco2000 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I guess Pantherian and KD being 80 miles away and in the same state as BGW isn't in the Mid-Atlantic... 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I feel BGW is one of those parks that doesn't need a giga coaster. It's almost too scenic to have something that big kind of dwarf the park. 7 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I was wondering if that survey I saw online yesterday was an April Fool's joke, but I guess not. Was it too challenging to find a real photo of these types of attractions? A photo of Iron Gwazi perhaps for the hybrid coaster would've been better than the AI slop they presented. What's even weirder is that some of these images have two Google Gemini logos in the bottom right corner, slightly overlaid on each other. Do you think any of these would be a retheme for the Sesame Street Forest of Fun? The new Italy Gardens concept looks like it could either be part of that or replace another part of the Italy area. Either of the two dark rides could replace DarKoaster. I think there are also two of a ride type and two concepts for the same plot(s). Quote
WoodVengeance Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I'm just wondering if the rabbit with deer antlers was intentional in the prompt or if it was another AI slop mistake. 1 Quote

jzarley Posted April 7 Posted April 7 BGW is my favorite of the United Parks properties—it’s a gorgeous park. It’s the only theme park I’ve ever been to where the backstage areas were pretty as well 🙂 1 Quote

If I were to pick one of those options listed, I would choose the RMC. Busch Gardens went crazy with Iron Gwazi, so maybe they'll go crazy again with a new RMC at BGW! Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 8 Posted April 8 It's hard not to love BGW. Walking it & soaking up the atmosphere is a must but using the train's (3) stops to the premier rides in the evening is fantastic. 2 Quote

Although, I think Tampa is a pretty park too. I think it’s just hard to beat the hills and trees of Williamsburg. I’ve also spent a lot more time in Tampa with it being so close to Orlando—I was only at BGW a few times, so maybe it’s just more “special” to me that way. And, over half the times I was at BGW it was off season (I think February twice) so I’m sure part of it was wanting to get on the rides yet not being able to 😀 1 Quote

BGT has the stronger coaster collection... well if they are all open. Been to that park 3 times and all 3 times two different coaster were just not open. In numerous cases no refurbishment listed on the website, not broken down temporarily, just not open or staffed... The 3 times I've been at BGW all the coasters were running with the exception of Verboten was closed two of the three times with workers activity working on it both times. Also they at least put that on the website so everyone knew before they went. I agree Tampa has better coasters but their operations of one train consistently on iron gwazi and burning me now three times with 2 non operating coasters has made me a believer in BGW. BGW has always delivered for me when I was there and as I said while verboten has had some up time issues the last few years, at least they are transparent about it unlike BGT 2 Quote

I haven't visited since 2022 so it's been a while, but when I was there Iron Gwazi was running 2 trains (albeit at a slower pace) but the line never got over 45 minutes. But recently I have heard more stories of bad experiences at BGT so maybe 2021-2022 was a good year for them and they just fell off. If everything that happened to you happened to me though, I might be more inclined to pick the better park experience in BGW. Just goes to show that guest experience is mostly more important than the ride itself. People will come to the parks and enjoy the rides, but not if they aren't open or if they have a bad experience. For sure. Yes I visited in 2023 and twice in 2025 and the park just left much to be desired on the operations side of things. I also don't love that they ripped out scorpion and the log flume because those were some of the rides you didn't have to wait an hour to get on. Williamsburg has the stronger flat ride lineup as well. Glad your experience was better than mine though and it's true that worse rides but better guest experience equals better time Quote
SonofBaconator Posted April 9 Posted April 9 From a thrill rides standpoint- the RMC makes the most sense. Even though KD has Twisted Timbers, what BGW is “proposing” is completely different enough to not rally draw any comparisons. A giga on the other hand doesn’t seem needed right now. Even though it would be a completely different experience from Pantherian, I think people would be quick to draw comparisons. I honestly think Tampa would get a giga first and is arguably more deserving of one: Florida’s tallest/fastest/longest coaster is extremely marketable in a state with so many large parks. 1 Quote
