Personally, I don't see much of a re-usability of the building for any type of ride. I think it could serve as a sit down restaurant downstairs, and create a second floor for private events and dancing. When not in use for private events you could use the second floor for more of a sports bar area like Jr for Birdy mentioned above. This would allow parents to order an adult drink, appetizer, watch the game while other family members are enjoying the rides. I would try to cover up the building with the same wood and stain that is used for the DB station to help give it that Rivertown look.4 points

One of the trains! I was going to use this photo for the hard-option, but it technically isn't the lift hill. Easy: Flight Deck's queue line or station. Hard: A photo of the zero-depth entry on Splash River. EDIT: Didn't know it had to be a recent photo!3 points

Certainly not saved yet. Article said that they are close to reaching a lease. Still said that the group will have to secure financing. Let's not forget Bluegrass Boardwalk also had a lease at one point in time. Until opening day comes for this park, I'll remain pessimistic.3 points

It was actually from SonofBaconador originally, then I reposted it. But I can answer it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcgoble3/6976876494/'> OK, so it's just a statue. It technically meets the criteria, doesn't it? Hard: First aid golf cart in action (from DBInternational) Easy: Fireworks (from KIfan73)3 points

I had a crazy dream about Kings Island last night! The first thing that happened in my dream was that we got to KI and they had re-opened the Son of Beast for a limited time only. This was to give fans of the ride a chance to ride it one last time before it got torn down. The funny thing is that in my dream I knew that the demolition had already begun, so I thought it was weird that it was open again. Anyway, I got in line and took a ride on it again! After we got off Son of Beast, we decided to go over to Planet Snoopy and take a ride on Boo Blasters. As I approached the ride, I could see that it was no longer Boo Blasters. The ride had been re-themed as something completely different. It was still a dark ride, but it was based on this character who was a bunny or something. There was someone working inside so I asked what happened to Boo Blasters and she said that they decided to re-do it as something different. I thought that was cool so we got in line. The ride made absolutely no sense at all. The individual cars had been replaced by one long train. Everyone boarded at once and went into the main ride. Once inside the ride it was like one part train ride, one part coaster and one part water ride. There was music and characters and stuff like a dark ride, but the track was like a coaster track for a while, then merged into some type of log flume type track with water and all. Everyone was getting wet and I remember thinking how weird it was. Then the ride ended and we got off. Don't remember what happened after that. I think I woke up! Not sure where that dream came from, but it sure was crazy!3 points

I'm not so sure, look at wolf pack, the park decided to keep the station so they could keep the maze. I rolled my eyes when I heard that they would keep the station, much how I rolled my eyes at the decision to put a haunt maze in the crypt building. Does anyone else here question the parks choice to put a maze in an area that had so much more potential?2 points

Despite the fact that Cedar Fair JUST got into the upcharged "extreme" haunt this past season with Knott's Trapped, I am actually surprised they haven't pulled this stunt yet, much like Universal's House of Horrors or Ripley's Haunted Adventure. I didn't get a chance to go to this year's Haunt, but I've heard wondrous things about Madame Fatale's, so they should at least keep everything from that haunt intact, and build upon that experience to make it a really lengthy walk-through (20 minutes at the very least). The only thing I'd really want to see them do with the building, however, is lower the ceiling a good 30-40 feet, at least to where that line is in this picture (just above the roof of the preshow building): I'd assume they'd would like to charge for it, as that would also net them the opportunity to be scarier and more graphic than if it they just let folks walk through all willy-nilly (the fact that Haunt is free with park admission notwithstanding). And they would also have no shortage of associates lining up around the block wanting to work at a haunted house for an entire operating season.1 point

If I could do anything with it? Put the Giant Top Spin back inside, restore everything to the way it was when TR:TR first opened, and make the necessary modifications to keep it that way, such as weatherproofing. (You did say "anything".) Failing that, keep it as Madame Fatale's Cavern of Terror.1 point

Ummm. Make it a BW3s with slots and blackjack tables. Flatscreens with specials during every Reds game, what a great idea!1 point

Gambling boat? Anderson Township Trustee Russ Jackson suggested the Delta Queen. Pinnacle Entertainment "didn't bite". http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/print-edition/2012/08/24/river-downs-racino-plan-includes.html?page=all Companies like this have all the plans drawn out prior to purchase and the plans will include not getting bigger than what the area can support. The initial plans normally include purchasing all land/ buildings at one time due to the inflated land values after the casino/ racino opens. If the plans did not include Coney from the beginning, it would be pure assumption (almost trolling for a reaction based upon a newspaper article you twisted into a rumor) at this point. Do you have anymore newspaper "sources" that can be quoted that don't date back to August?1 point

Not a rumor, but here's hoping Dollywood gets a (proper) Drop Tower. That would be a neat spot for one, as you've got the train running along the hill on one side and Wild Eagle/Mystery Mine on the other to give riders an exaggerated sense of height. Kind of like how I hate sitting on the Skyflyer/Son of Beast/Eiffel Tower sides of Drop Tower because it reminds me how stinking high up I am.1 point

Well I mean that is my favorite childhood coaster. And it's a PTC. I mean I wouldn't mind too much. Plus with two of them the wait would be very manageable.1 point

^ SSN is social security number. If you're a US citizen or a US permanent resident, you definitely have one. You should find out what it is, then memorize it. You will need this for job applications, credit applications, and tax forms. (Do be careful how you give it out, since it can be used by identity thieves.)1 point

I don`t think you have to worry about Coney going away anytime soon. It will be around. I don`t think River Downs will take over Coney. They own quite a bit of land already. If anything they see Coney as an added benefit, because it is another attraction to attract people to the area. And remember, technically, Coney Island borders Riverbend Music Center, which in turn borders Riverdowns` land. Riverbend is owned by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. I don`t think that the changes to Riverbend will cause Coney to go away. Will it change the way that Coney does things? Yes. I know that for a fact. And I`m sure we`ll see some of those bear out in the coming months and year1 point

The long-term solution has been found: As a Halloween Haunt attraction. This sounds rather familiar......1 point

Return on investment. Far more intricate haunts need not be broken down and rebuilt totally each year. See also Son of Beast's station.1 point

I realize the fate of the building isn't about to change, but I keep daydreaming of a renovation where the building is shrouded in evergreen trees. The theme would shift from Tomb Raider (which, really, was all The Crypt's "theme" was, anyway) to some sort of "spirit of the woods" theme (a la Verbolten, only less Germany and more Ohio.) The queue would be modified to resemble walking deeper and deeper into the woods, and the preshow chamber would instead have what appears to be a wolf statue atop some rockwork in the center of the room (with the rest of the room changed to a "heart of the forest" theme, with faux sunlight shining into the room before and after the preshow.) Via a projection system (much like the one used at the front gate at Haunt a season or two ago), the wolf statue would appear to come to life and tell some foreboding tale about how humans have been a curse on the forest and how the riders may leave in peace or else press on and face the consequences. Not that I've been thinking about it a whole lot or anything, but I bet the Hunger Games score would blend really well with the theme, too. I mean... not that I've thought about it much, but I think an edited form of James Newton Howard's "Healing Katniss" would make a neat queue theme. And they could maybe play "The Hunger Games" in the outdoor queue. And then they could... I dunno, use an edited form of "Rue's Farewell" for the preshow ambiance. And then I guess they could use "Katniss Afoot" for the loading music, and maybe they could use an edited "Muttations" for the ride, which would then contain an encounter with the "spirit of the forest" in the form of a giant wolf carving that comes to life and engages the riders in a battle of the elements. ...Not that I've thought about it or anything. (Old habits die hard, I guess.)1 point

I wouldn't mind it if they painted it. The color makes it stand out more than a giant building should stand out, IMO.1 point

Repetitive dreams about an object, person or place might reveal a desire for closure to some issue in your life. Your subconscious mind keeps taking you there, even adding details like weather conditions, so that you can discover what you need to do to resolve something you're not consciously aware of. I keep dreaming of being in Action Zone, and running into of a family from Miamisburg that I revered very much, but haven't seen in 20 years. I used to lie to them a lot about everything, and I was foolishly egotistical and narcisistic to the point of quickly overstaying my welcome (they were a perfect, Brady-bunch-like family on whose daughter I had an enormous crush, but as that wore off and I grew wiser and less naive, I realized that I loved that whole family dearly). I've never called or written to them for fear they still think I'm the dork was back then, and I keep having the dreams of visiting them again, probably because my subconscience wants me to come clean and ask their forgiveness for the lies and stuff. I think that the dreams take place at Kings Island, because the park has been the stage for dreams of mine throughout my long life.1 point
