  1. Gravity Group revealed at the ACE No Coaster Con the amount of work Racer is getting. It seems just Red is getting work. We might see blue side get some work next year? Looking forward to riding Red and winning more!

  2. Sounds good. Is it getting Gravity Group`s new track system? In several years, if KI keeps up this rehab work on The Racer and The Beast, they will eventually all be the new vertical style track, which will hopefully provide a smoother ride for years to come.

  3. This will honestly fit better with Rivertown. Gives Diamondback a little more of a rustic look and no more McDonald's lift hill lol.

  4. I know there was brown test paint on Diamondback's supports a few weeks back and was discussed in another thread.

  5. The new colors make the ride look more mature, it's not super flashy, rather it is apart of the landscape. It will certainly complement Orion much better!

  6. Not perfect, but it should give a good glimpse of what the lift hill and supports should look like after the repaint. (Original image is from CoasterBuzz on Pinterest)

  7. Interesting! I think the brown will blend better in the wooded part of the ride. With it peeking out of the woods for the crests of the hills. Estimated Color Visual: (it'll be very similar to this, but we'll likely get photos soon of the new colors!) Mushroom Brown: RGB (144, 110, 88) Crimson Red: RGB (124, 41, 42)

  8. They used to have a walking trail by The Beast many years ago. Also, the pathway from the leftover part of Dinos Alive that wasn't used by Orion is still there. Maybe if they want to, they can do something like Forbidden Frontier back there.

  9. Idk how it works, but I believe the Kings Island Inn kept the Kings Island name even when KI didn't own it.

  10. But does it, really? I still say that’s a waste of a theatre with a full fly rail to have a unit set that doesn’t use the fly other than to hold up some windows. Tinkers didn’t work in festhaus - as I don’t feel any show with a “plot” does since it’s such a loud, high turnover location. I even felt The 70s show and Swinging into Christmas were both about 10 minutes too long for the space -would rather see a shorter 15-20 show with different playlists more frequently so the stage was almost in constant use. But I think that KI theater needs to be used for a much more produced, longer (40-45 min) show, then move Tinkers to a renovated International Showplace (the existing iron work even looks like the original set) and bring back a modified Charlie Brown Christmas Spectacular in the peanuts theatre and find a new home for Sounds of the Nativity-which is also a bit of a waste of a performance space with lots of covered seating and better production capabilities than needed for a 4 person vocal combo with a petting zoo.

  11. On the webcams I thought the yellow supports looked brighter. Then KI said the support color is changing to Mushroom brown. That is what I was laughing at because 1 hour after I posted that KI said they were changing the color of the supports to not be yellow. Lol. I haven’t seen mushroom brown on any of the supports yet. Just the images here.

  12. Yes, I could see them building a hotel here too, this is a great location, and like you said what they did at Carowinds. Maybe in a few years we can see Cedar Fair look into it, since the one at Canadas Wonderland fell through.

  13. Did you see a picture of the new paint job?

  14. I think that, unless material technology has improved drastically since 2016, they are blowing it by once again painting a track red. I use 2016 as an example because that is the year Dragster was repainted crimson red, and look at current photos of the tophat to see how well that has aged. The brown supports will be cool for the reasons already mentioned, but the red track gets a no from me, dawg. Granted, my opinion means all of zilch, but there it is for better or worse.

  15. One of my main concerns with repainting Diamondback was if they went with the yellow lift hill again and seeing it fade out again within a few years. The brown should blend in a lot better in Rivertown and should look nice for a lot longer compared to the original color scheme.

  16. Incredibly happy with the color choices. This is what I'd hoped for when we first saw that swatch on the brake run support. That will look SO much better in Rivertown.

  17. Cedar Fair owns a little over 640 acres (could be 670, it's somewhere in that regard) of land in regards to Kings Island @Imperial79 They have a LOT of space out back that is unused, don't know if it'll ever be used there's not much resale value with access to the area but we could certainly see expansions going back behind Orion in the far future? There's still stuff in-ward that needs redo so doubt we'll ever see that back area used for areas other than rides. https://www.acrevalue.com/plat-map/OH/?lat=39.344644&lng=-84.263436&zoom=14#!

  20. Great America has announced that they will be changing their name for next season. Their new name will be California's Great America. Along with the name change comes a new ride for 2008, as they will be adding a HUSS TopSpin, named Firefall. Bigger news though, will be a new for 2009, CGI-built wood coaster, with a lift height of 104ft, and top speed of 52mph. They will also be adding Halloween Haunt for next season, and an Ice Skating show in the "Great America Theatre". http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories....90503&EDATE

  21. Shocking news. I got to spend about a week with him in 2008. He was very nice and easy to talk to. My condolences. https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/13/robbie-knievel-daredevil-son-evel-knievel-dead-dies-stuntman-stunts/?fbclid=IwAR2FIsYbBDjULJUhQI0Ap5rTzmnRr2VbYZHZd_ZOCb90X0VjntNnnT_1a7c&mibextid=Zxz2cZ Update: KI makes a statement via Twitter
