I don't know why, but the pictures wouldn't upload as pictures from my phone. Instead they uploaded as files. Idk if it was an issue with the site or my phone, but I tried reuploading them and it didn't help.

A little update on the area: It looks as if recently two new pathways were started on the Drop Tower side. Also it looks as if the dranes were spray painted with orange spray paint. Also interesting that they planted grass on one half and have the other half gravel. Honestly i would be ok with the area becoming a pathway that connects Banshee to Drop Tower and have the grass area become some type of lawn area that could house lawn games and maybe a stage for live music (like the lawn area at Carowinds by Thunder Striker/Harmony Hall. Will be interesting to watch this area. 20250503_182339.heic 20250503_182353.heic 20250503_182428.heic 20250503_182433.heic 20250503_182514.heic

Plus if the 2026 family thrill attraction is put in the Crypt building, they could put the nebulaZ in the pad right next to the building near Beast's entrance and open up that area past The Beast's entrance and maybe have the exit be moved back to its old spot again and maybe just maybe get the water mill working again.

Seriously why can't KI do a Peanuts specific event for the 75th anniversary of Peanuts? The 75th anniversary of a show only happens once a lifetime so why not plan some sort of celebration for it? Or at least a kids focused festival in Planet/Camp Snoopy like Canada's Wonderland does with Kidzfest.
-
In that case, I feel like if KI isn't going to go with a Haunted theme for Action Zone, then flight theme it is, but I would hate to see Banshee rethemed. Maybe they could try and fit Banshee's mythological flying ghost theme into an aviation themed area.

Isn't Area 72 sorta that? The whole backstory of Area 72 is it is a secret research facility studying flight.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I like looking through that thread too. I remember originally the rumor was a ride like Skyhawk at Canada's Wonderland I believe. Then it became a giga for awhile (which looking back I couldn't believe I fell for that as there is no way a giga would've fit back there), then I remember when the blueprints first got leaked. Then the rumored name was SplinterCat and then I remember announcement night. I was at my (former) local county fair in Indiana at the time and I remember looking at my phone past 10 and seeing the name the first time and I was like "what?!" and it took me a couple days to process the name as I wasn't expecting a name like that. -
Technically I think Yukon Striker does. Rapterra exits through a gift shop and so will AlpenFury.
-
Ik, but imo I like exiting through a gift shop. The shop is already there so why not have it exit through Coaster Connection?
-
I like it. How about having the exit be through the gift shop like other legacy CF coasters.

That NOC was filed last fall and had nothing to do with 2026. It was "labeled 2024 and 2025 additions and modifications" for example the one filed in 2018 for what became Orion was "2018, 2019, and 2020 additions and modifications"

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Or what about the skyflyer area? @BoddaH1994 shared a photo on facebook of a survey flag in that area. Now that could be many things, but I definitley will be keeping my eyes there as well as Timberwolf this season. -

Any pics/updates on what the skyflyer area looks like? I saw a pic on facebook that there is already a survey flag placed in there. Maybe that's the 2026 family thrill attraction spot? -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
With the nice weather tomorrow and expected rain on Saturday, I would assume tomorrow could reach Haunt level crowds. I would say get there at least 2 or so hours early and even then there may be a backup to get in. -
The current wait time for The Beast is 48 hours and 49 minutes...
-
The problem is right now the stage there is built specifically for the stunt style shows there. Maybe in future years though as I don't think those stunt shows will last forever.

As I said "current" forecast. Obviously the weather is unpredictable and can/will change by then. -

Michael Williams the guy from American Idol and The Voice who used to perform at KI and had his own show at KI in 2020 along with rising Cincy area band Telehope played at Busch Gardens Tampa as part of their Food and Wine festival this weekend! If they can perform there, they can obviously perform at KI, but yet the park keeps settling with Hifi Honey and River City for every event entertainment instead of offering more opportunities to other bands. Imo the park should reach out to those 2 artists and have them perform at KI too. They would very likely draw a crowd as both are up and coming especially locally. EDIT: let me be clear: I don't dislike Hifi Honey or River City. In fact, I really like both. I just wish the park would branch out and add more bands instead of settling with the same 2 bands every year. It just isn't fair to the other local bands that would love the chance to play at KI even if it was just one set on one day. That's why I think a Bands in Residence program would be perfect! For Michael Williams and Telehope, I think they're big enough where they could use Timberwolf for them. However, I don't think they would fill the place, but I think they're popular enough locally to where they could fill half of it. However, idk if the ROI is there for that so maybe having them perform on the bandstand or on a temporary stage in the grass near International Showplace like during Banshee Brew Fest years ago would work.

Seeing how Carowinds is doing a Fury 325 10th anniversary block party, I think it would be cool for KI to do an Orion 5th anniversary block party this summer in Area 72! They could do it on July 2nd (Orion's official opening date) or maybe do it over 4th of July weekend as part of Star Spangled Nights! It's not too late to plan something like this and it would be a great way to honor Orion this summer! -

It has to be earlier than that as Skyflyer is still standing in the view. -

Isn't Winterfest sorta sponsored by Coke? I think KI could do a Spring family event sponsored by Peeps just minus the Easter stuff. Imagine a putt putt tournament in Tower Gardens and lawn games set up in the grass areas near the Carousel, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and/or Diamondback's brake run. Imagine silent disco under the Eiffel Tower and a dance party at the bandstand. Imagine a block party in Action Zone. All with awesome spring decorations by the park's outstanding landscaping and decor team! It would be a good in between event to draw people into the park during the weekends between opening weekend and Memorial Day weekend.
