  1. Had a dream last night where Diamondback used the international street royal fountain as its splashdown.
  2. I would imagine Kings Island would have chosen the colors already, unless they're doing what Kennywood did with Phantom's Revenge and are having a public poll.
  3. Maybe a better term would be renovation, not expansion.
  4. Given how fast KI managed to repair The Bat after the derailment earlier this year and the repainting of the trains, I think it's safe to say KI plans to keep The Bat around for a while, which is good because I really don't want to see that coaster get removed.
  5. Banshee and Bat could fit well with an Oktoberfest theme, though the other rides there like Drop Tower or Delirium might want to see a retheme to fit in the area.
  6. I feel as though if Kings Island were to get another launch coaster, it would probably be best to have something unique about it that stands out from the other two launch coasters in the park (besides the use of LSMs). Although I do feel the surf coaster could fill that niche well, I feel it might be better to go with a model like the Mack Extreme Spinner or a launched B&M Wing Coaster that could probably offer more in a layout than a Surf Coaster. However, Pipeline is currently the only Surf Coaster confirmed as of now, so I think it is a bit early to say what the Surf Coaster is capable of layout-wise. And yes, I do agree that an Extreme Spinner would probably be the best candidate for a new coaster that isn't an Intamin or RMC.
  7. It's a possibility, though I don't think it will be the next coaster Kings Island adds. The Surf Coaster is a model that B&M just introduced, and Kings Island (under Cedar Fair) isn't the type of park that adds all-new coaster concepts. In addition, we don't know how successful the Surf Coaster is going to be just yet. Maybe it if becomes successful in the future Kings Island might add one, but for now I think there are other B&M models that have higher odds of being added for the park's next coaster.
  8. Big Zamperla year for Cedar Fair
  9. Looking at the concept art, it seems the area that held the VIP area/the ladder game is getting removed.
  10. I think if that were the case, Kings Island would've already announced Invertigo's closure by this point. I do agree that Invertigo is likely to be the next coaster to get axe'd from the park given its age, capacity and its location near the front entrance. Given that Firehawk and Vortex were removed back-to-back years and that Vortex doesn't even have a replacement yet, I think Kings Island doesn't want to gain a reputation for removing too many coasters.
  11. When Canada's Wonderland put in Yukon Striker, there were elements of that ride that were heavily influenced by SkyRider, the coaster that was formerly in that spot (Similar paint scheme, loop in the same area as SkyRider's loop, the initial announcement video for Yukon Striker featuring SkyRider). Assuming this potential B&M could be going in Vortex's plot, it's possible that there could be elements of Vortex in this new ride, whether that be with theming or with certain element(s).
  12. Also, RCCA neglected to add additional bents to areas of the ride that had higher g-forces.
  13. I think a new generation enterprise themed to either skylab or some sort of german theme would work really well here.
  14. I believe roller coaster at lagoon still holds it's ace landmark status, despite getting millennium flyers. I'm sure The Beast's status won't be affected.
  15. Hangtime has 16 person trains (4 rows), but Gerstlauer can put more rows on the trains if Kings Island wanted. On Gerstlauer's website, they say they can put between 2 to 7 rows on their Infinity Coaster trains.
  16. An intamin launch coaster similar to pantheon could fit well in that area, especially if they had the launch and spike section right next to the path by where Vortex's batwing was. A man can dream.
  17. I could see it being Invertigo or The Bat. Invertigo is an inverted boomerang model, which has been getting removed from other parks in recent years. (I believe Invertigo at Kings Island is the last inverted boomerang model still operating that isn't a giant model) Same situation with The Bat, however, that coaster sits on a very good spot in the park for expansion. It could go either way in my opinion. I think the other coasters in this poll are safe for now.
  18. This is the second construction thread I've kept track of, the first being Mystic Timbers. So with Clifford being at the park, does that mean we'll start seeing construction of the lift hill and other tall structures soon?
  19. "Welcome to Six Flags Kings Island: Where Banshee is now Batman: The Ride, Diamondback is now Superman: Escape from Krypton, Orion is now Goliath, The Racer got taken out in favor of a super loop, and The Beast is now Twisted Beast!"
  20. Personally, i'm not sure if The Bat/Vortex station is going to be reused again. The reason I say this is because I do think Cedar Fair would want to have a larger queue if we were to get a new coaster in that land. The current queue area for Vortex is very short compared to other major coasters in the park and I just don't see much land that can be used to expand the current queue without going into the valley or blocking the brake run/transfer track area. I think what will happen is that we will see a new station built farther away from the pathway and a new queue going where the current Vortex station is.
  21. My intention wasn't to put a copy of SV in that area. It was to show the amount of land we're currently working with and that you could fit a pretty large coaster there, it doesn't have to be an RMC.
  22. Here's Steel Vengeance in Vortex's plot of land for reference.
  23. I would love to see a ground up RMC wooden/hybrid coaster, but I could also see a T-Rex or a mack rides spinning/multi-launch coaster going there as well.
  24. I'm wondering if we're going to be seeing the other Cedar Fair arrow loopers get removed in the near future as well. Carolina Cyclone, Dragon Fyre, Demon and Corkscrew are all older than Vortex and are still operating.
  25. I think if you cleared some of the trees behind Vortex, you could fit a good-sized RMC there similar to Steel Vengeance or Zadra.
