  1. 17 months later, and the post above remains my opinion. And Pat Koch is welcome at Kings Island. I often saw Will there...
  2. Recent cemetery discussion merits bumping this for those who have not seen it. Note Paramount and relocation....
  3. And then came the Apollo Global thingy.
  4. This thread is being bumped for a reason wholly different than my usual ones. And, oh how I wish I'd paid more attention to the ATL stuff ere I upped and moved there. And the King Street Chili Parlor (Hard Times Cafe) on King Street in Old Town Alexandria mentioned, too. It's A Small World After All! Anywho, none of those, sufficient as they may be, are the bumping reason this time. Intended audience: Read Well. We's still waitin'. (If they can close Mrs. Knott's for months for rehab, and they have....)
  5. And still....nothing. "...not on the radar for now..." http://www.observer-reporter.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20150613/NEWS01/150619776 aka kaput.
  6. One has to wonder if ride maintenance, training...., Remember, it was Mr. Hart who said the park workers check out each ride mechanically and for safety...annually.
  7. Huge underdeveloped market with lots of money to pay for projects.
  8. They were not available last year until gold went away, I do believe.
  9. A Gold offers every single thing the regular does and more. And it costs LESS.
  10. WHY would you want one? Pay more and get less?
  11. At least in the early days of Kings Island, appropriate arrangements were made. If the cemetery did not have access, it'd likely have to be relocated.
  12. All "regular" passes are upgraded to gold through, typically, Memorial Day. Free parking, and good through Haunt. Regular passes offer neither and cost MORE. Once gold goes away, it can't be purchased at any price.
  13. Forget that. What about the families who have loved ones buried there? I can assure you the park will never commercialize that cemetery. It is hallowed ground. Regardless of what blarney Cedar Fair spewed about Haunt in the early years, there ARE limits. As well there should be.
  14. For those who read the recently bumped thread about the Apollo Global aborted takeover of Cedar Fair--this thread, much shorter yet detailed, covers the technical aspects of just how Q, Mr. Raynor and the Knott family stopped Mr. Kinzel and Apollo Global in their tracks. Well worth reading if you are interested in corporate finance and governance.
  15. It was VERY difficult to get in and out of for anyone who either weighed more than 98 pounds or had bigger than size 9.5 (men's) feet.
  16. I started to say I'd do that--if it weren't for the refillable cup. Then I remembered I no longer drink carbonated drinks again.
  17. Fired artist had tried to kill former boss with scissors in the neck: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/artist-charged-attempted-murder-theme-park-attack-36081775
  18. rumblings rumblings food service changes pricing changes ...reception....lost....
  19. Interesting contemporaneous impressions of Kentucky Kingdom, Ed Hart, the Kentucky State Fair Board, Screamscape, and the Six Flags Bankruptcy....
  20. I am so glad this is part of Kings Island's past. "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
  21. No wonder the Disney outside contracted legal counsel is so feared. Wrenches into the legal work, they hammer their cases and use the pliers to get best results!
