  1. As my teacher said, look at the main print before you say something! The likelihood of underground storm shelters..... I'd say the likelihood of Patrick Swayze touring underground storm shelters is more likely than Boomerang Bay or Son of Beast ever coming back.
  2. Around the time the film "Red Dawn" came out, Cold War hysteria was at an all time high. Kings Island built a series of underground "weather" shelters in the 80's and reallocated them for storage purposes conveniently around the time that the Berlin Wall fell. In the mid 90's they used to give tours of them. As a PR stunt, Patrick Swayze came in and gave a speech on the day the tours opened to the public. I'm surprised no one has shared pictures on here before.
  3. And Son of Beast... ..."pretty much."
  4. Wow. Get a grip and a sense of humor. Or get lost.
  5. There will be guests in the park.
  6. Wow, that actually looks really, really good.
  7. Then what's the problem with discussing what positive changes could be made by comparing it to an established system at a similar chain that works?
  8. Ok, how about we compare it to Six Flags system which is good on a technical and execution level. No wristbands or hastily made queue lines there.
  9. Love this, thanks for sharing jandyb! Good luck on your move.
  10. ^I think you're misunderstanding his point. I believe what he means is that no matter which tiered experience a guest chooses, if any, they should leave with having a positive customer service experience. For instance... a regular guest in line not having their wait times hindered by an over selling of Fast Lane passes.
  11. ^He didn't say that guest's should have the same experience, but rather that all the guests have a positive customer service experience. I.E. whether you purchase Fast Lane or not, you should still be able to enjoy your day regardless.
  12. ^I've burnt myself and the back seat of my car more than I've burnt another person. When I was 17, I got the living crap kicked out of me at a Clutch show. Pure Rock Fury!
  13. ^To my knowledge, it has been the only event there all summer in years past since Sean Hannity's Freedom Farce Tour was disbanded.
  14. Sometimes the best kind of biography is an autobiography.
  15. Looks like a small zamperla Delirium-esque ride. You can see the support to the left of the photograph. Camden Park is my favorite park of all time.
  16. ^OBG, thanks! For me, it's just about respect for those around you. I certainly understand where you're coming from about the smell which is why I stick to the designated areas. Furthermore, KI is a private business. They can make the rules that they wish. If they banned smoking in the park, which I think would be pretty discourteous and just invite trouble, I would gladly abide.
  17. Speaking as a smoker, I see no problem with the designated areas. We can go back and forth all day on the effects (or alleged effects) of second hand smoke, but for me it comes down to courtesy. If I want to smoke, that's my choice, but the people around me shouldn't have to smell or inhale it if they don't want to. So when I take my smoke breaks, I do it with courtesy in mind. As far as Kings Island goes - their areas are plentiful and out of the way of regular guests. If you're a smoker, be courteous and utilize these areas. If you don't smoke, avoid these areas. Simple.
  18. Yeah. I remember in 2006 people were dumping soda on each other. Hoodlums.
  19. ^I saw them all listed as "Enquirer Archives."
  20. It's the Enquirer. You're lucky, that's actually one of their better articles. There weren't any misspellings in it.
  21. ^Beat me to it, The person in the OP's question was probably referring to the ride now known as the "Great Pumpkin Coaster" formerly known as "Little Bill's Giggle Coaster" and before that known as "Top Cat's Taxi Jam." Originally, before all of those - it was in fact "Scooby Zoom."
  22. ^Funny you mention that. The day after they announced their closure, a friend and I were up that way and had lunch at Waffle House. We swung by the Beach afterwards and I snapped this photo of the sign: I drove by again with my girlfriend the next day and the S was gone.
