  1. You are referring to Deep Impact. Will Smith was not in either Armageddon or Deep Impact. What is it with all the adult movie references to the new coaster???
  2. Outside.... If it rains of course.
  3. Some enthusiast sites thrive on promoting negativity, and donkeys. Some enthusiast sites that are linked to a specific park only want their park to be the best by finding fault with another park. For some it's a rivalry. For others it is just plain fun! KIC (specifically PKIC) had a few members that would put CP down any chance they had back in the day. It should be noted that KIC does have some of the most open-minded enthusiasts when it comes to other parks that can be found. Attitude starts from the top down...... In the early 2000 I was lucky enough to live close enough to CP & a pass to PKI due to relatives living 20 minutes from the park. Each park has enough unique features that "comparing" isn't fair to either one. ( I personally LOVE Hershey & BGW as much as KI & CP).
  4. Looks like the title to an adult movie......
  5. Your commitment to hydration and subsequent relief is commendable!
  6. I watched the video. Its really not fairly done due to inaccurate comparisons. The populations around the park really have little to do with attendance. I feel that attendance is effected more by weather & competition (competition not necessarily from other parks). I also found it interesting that all the comparisons of cities to each park used a 4 hour traveling, but the author used the comparison of SFGA which is 5 hours from KD. I'm also confused by the comparisons of each park's current land usage & available land. For instance, Beast takes up a considerable amount of acerage. The author states that KI is using a percentage of their current land. He never considers how much extra acreage beyond the existing structure is needed to keep Beast out of view. As most of us know, much of Beast's allure is not being able to see the track from the rest of the park- especially at night. The video has lots of numbers that are found in the CF quarterly reports, but no acknowledgement. The video also has lots of pics and videos found at various enthusiast sites, but no acknowledgements. In a nutshell- the video regurgitates much information that we discuss here & is discussed at other sites quite regularly. While I totally agree that the video may not be geared to enthusiasts like most here, I honestly wonder if the author believes it to be for the general public.
  7. The biggest decision on investing rides in a park is ROI. Even though each park is owned by CF, each has a separate revenue stream. Comparing parks to each other is unfair.
  8. The noise from B & M coasters goes back to Raptor. Some parks like the noise & incorporate it into the theming i.e. the former Incredible Hulk, other parks want it quieter. The decision is up to the park.
  9. I can remember looking at the operator booth thinking: "Man, I want to be in that AC!"
  10. My first question to the regular would be: "So the 10 year plan included WS not lasting 10 years?"
  11. Not necessarily the "brakes" but the sensors by adding or placing the sensors in a different location for a 3 train operation.
  12. KC was a fun coaster & VERY unique for when it was new. Metal fatigue will get ya every time.
  13. Pelee Island is only 22 miles from Sandusky.
  14. I believe CP will use the 150th anniversary to market 2020 with adding a small ride or no ride at all (meaning a ride transplanted from another park). This will allow year long "teasing" in 2020 for a new large ride in 2021/ 2022
  15. Adding more attendees or more bathrooms will not impact guest respect on how to use the facilities. Signage on guests respecting the facilities and where to go/ get in touch with an attendant could go a long way.
  16. Seasonal parks can rarely touch year round parks on any level.
  17. "You must be a star because you look beautiful from a distance"
  18. Rest assured, there will be teasers. It is a no-brainer way to market 2020 season passes.
  19. BGW also does not get the high attendance every day that CP & KI get. I was shocked at how both BGW & KD were dead when we recently visited just before the 4th of July.
  20. Not that any of the recent posts are false, but why would the park allow someone to "steal their thunder" to announce anything? These projects are kept very confidential. Why would they spill the beans to someone on the inside now before announcing it themselves?
  21. I don't see a desperate for teasing topic there......
  22. As a former bar/ restaurant owner, this is 100% accurate. I can't tell you how many times I would find a "product" sticking to the side of the stall- and there were separate cans in each stall for these....
  23. With all the ugly pedofile issues that have come to light the last handful of years is likely the reason for the closed doors.
  24. 60-90 days seems a bit much. The typical cure time is 28 days. Or are they using a different type of mix that requires a longer cure time?
  25. This is not the first time enthusiasts had blue prints in hand from public sources. Those making the decisions on teasers/ media releases know enthusiasts treat is as a badge of honor to provide "insider info" about new rides- especially coasters. Meaning- KI knows public blueprints will be found. Teasers are thought up long before the blue prints are available to the public. Coming out with teasers now only satisfies or upsets fanboys, but potentially turn off the GP due to media attention (why go to KI in 2019 when 2020 will have a BIG ride?). Rest assured, the media surfs KIC due to the vast knowledge of the park & industry and will report many things seen here. Beast 40th is still being promoted by the park which many are, alarmingly, dismissing. Relax folks. Some are sounding like Veruca Salt wanting everything now while others sound like the old man down the street yelling at kids to get off his lawn.
