  1. I would like to see the press release stating these facts.
  2. ^ You could plug many things into that statement where Americans spend more money for item/ experience "X" compared to other nations in the World.
  3. Even though it is not 200': http://www.rcdb.com/ig3183.htm?picture=51 Yet the funny thing is: yeah SoB is 200'. But the roughest part has nothing to do with the height of the first drop.
  4. Does it have low ridership? Honestly, there always seems to be a line for it. But on the other hand, there are many (if not most) water rides that have significantly smaller numbers of guests that enjoy the ride than other irdes in the park. Most often times I never see a line for CF or SRF (at CP), and rather minimal lines, less than 15 minutes, for WWC and TC (at CP).
  5. So do you really believe that when both X-Flight and Steel Venom were being removed last year, CF had no intentions of closing the park for '08?
  6. So when do you think the forecast was submitted? If it was after the season, it would not be considered a forecast. I would also have to think that to be a true "conspiracy theorist" you would have to believe that CF's intentions were to close the park four years after it was purchased.
  7. For those who still believe that attendance was great and things were that much better under SF.
  8. I am not sure how you could take quotes like: and... as anything but a permanent closure of the ride side. http://www.cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases...mp;story_id=133
  9. Now that the unfortunate decision to close GL is official: Why did KI get Firehawk instead of Dominator? It seems rather easy to assume (now) that CF had decided to close GL prior to the 2007 season, but what is their thinking to why a particular park gewts a particular ride? My only idea is that the footprint of FH is much smaller than Dominator, and KI had enough land to install FH with minimal clearing of land; whereas Dominator would have been more difficult to place in the current footprint of the park w/o clearing land for installation purposes. The same can be said for KD, as long as the rumors are true (Dominator going to KD as well as where it will be built).
  10. Cedar Fair has had one full year to install new rides, and since the one ride that was put in happened to be from another park, a coaster no less, you are calling CF "junk city ride wise". Wow. Exactly what did you expect for 2007 when CF purchased the park in July of '06?
  11. The restraints on Mantis and Raptor are still the original ones from when the rides were first opened.
  12. Of course the people purchasing are smart enough to know the difference between the two rides. But it is the people that spend money to ride that count the most. If they don't know the difference, and are afraid to ride it, what is the point of buying it?
  13. ^ Great story! Congrats! Hey, whatever motivation a person needs to lose weight, great for them.
  14. ^ Which is why the topic is titled... Top Guns OLD queue.
  15. ^ LOL! So your idea is based upon a computer generated model. And you have formed your opinion upon a computer generated model. And you opinion is that there are better coasters out there compared to the computer generated model? Ok...
  16. ^ Thanks for the update Captain Obvious!
  17. Being who you are! So you are saying that you exactly know how the ride is based upon a computer generated model? That is a joke!
  18. Wow! Not too many others will agree with you on that. I believe they do not hinder my ride experiance at all. Glad to hear that you believe that it is a success. I am anxious to read about other TR's.

  20. Well for some reason, CP decided to make it a two tone where the first half is the "Moly orange" and the second half is the original color. But even the "moly orange" still looks red. That was before it was re-painted. It's now back to red. Pre-paint job: http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=429 Post paint job: http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=386 Here is a great shot of both before & after colors: http://www.pointbuzz.com/gallery.aspx?i=2199 I find it rather intresting that a ride manufacturer's original paint fades and weathers rather quickly.
  21. How can you form an opinion about a ride that: 1) the footers are not even poured yet. -and- 2) you have not been on yet. So now I ask the question; if you had the choice of having a ride like F97 or nothing at all, you would choose nothing?
  22. ^^ The similarities are that both coasters are low to the ground, have numerous and very quick transitions, have inversions, and use smaller than traditional trains. It really just comes down to: you say tomato and I say tomato. (You know, that makes so much more sense when you say it aloud)
  23. It really has nothing to do with CP, but more with the recomendations for seatbealt length from Intamin for MF and TTD. CP could ignore what Intamin said, but, that would leave the door open to many issues if an incident would happen to occur. Now with Maverick, it has OTSR's and caters to a majority of America. Chances are anything over a 38" waist will not be able to enjoy MF or TTD.
  24. ^ Nice. I'm hoping that he was politely escorted from the park.
