  1. Ironic given its designer and its history.
  2. Banshee is having very slow operations today. Spent 10 minutes on the brake run on my ride.
  3. Thoughts on the Skyline operations- First, it is well staffed for the small menu they have, just coneys, ways, salads and fries, simple stuff. 4 on table is pretty adequate. However, they could REALLY crank food out better if they did stations instead of like an assembly line. They'll get better with practice, and they are doing quite well for the 3rd weekend, but a few small changes in operations could really improve their efficiency. Also, even compared to the Skyline I work at where we're generous with cheese portions, they use a TON. I also like the hot dogs better than mine. Got coneys today that were of good quality. They do need to open the buns up and put a bit more chili on coneys, but not drastically off what's done at the outside restaurants.
  4. Action Zone is fairly action-less.
  5. WindSeeker is still playing Haunt music, just heard music from Nightmare Before Christmas.
  6. Grain and Grill- A+. Had the shrimp, and while it needs to be a tad more tender, it's still good. Potatoes and focaccia bread also good. Light on the stomach compared to other park food.
  7. Diamondback has the bottom of about every drop painted now. I think the new paint sections also feel slightly smoother. EDIT- I also see that Backlot has had its trains repainted.
  8. How do you know Intamin is re-doing TTD?
  9. Isn't there a whole surfing club in Ohio dedicated to riding and being good at this?
  10. Which, I don't completely get because I did ride recaR and backwards Racer 75, and it didn't feel much rougher/smoother than the forwards side. Now, I do think that GG and GCI said that Timberliners and Millennium Flyers respectively can be made to go backwards. Hmm....now I want backwards Mystic Timbers.
  11. Why can't KD and their fans be better at Grizzly updates like KI was when Beast got retracked?
  12. Getting #wakandaforever vibes from the trains. Courtesy of Hersheypark's Facebook page.
  13. I just looked at the hours of all the parks I'm going to, and I'm not getting a lot of night rides. All but KI and CP close at 9 or earlier on weekdays and KD is the only other one I get night rides as I'm going on a Sunday.
  14. That and PTC kinda preferred them go forwards only.
  15. Uh, mine's more on topic.
  16. And then these other 2 groups started snapping their fingers and doing weird synchronized dances in the parking lot it was weird.
  17. What happened to the other blue Racer train?
  18. So I may be getting completely spoiled on the wood coasters I'm riding this summer that have had recent retracking- Beast, Racer, Grizzly, Shivering Timbers, Wolverine Wildcat, Phoenix, Twister If I somehow find that any of the GCI's or Ravine Flyer II got retracked, I may reach a state beyond spoiled.
  19. I also now see a lot of teens hanging out near the entrance soliciting older visitors to trying to get them to be the 'chaperone'.
  20. They just landed an interview on Fox 19 in Cincy, too. Also, what could possibly go wrong? Also also, wouldn't those doing this be kinda opening themselves up to liabilities if the kids under them cause an incident? My head hurts.
  21. I wonder how they'll put out this announcement for the parks yet to open...
  22. Just out of curiosity, how effective have these plans been in the past?
  23. I think it's chain wide based on the number of parks that announced it and that they all use the same word for word message.
  24. The way the Skyline restaurants do it, 1-2 people puts together ways, 1-2 on coneys, one on burrito bar (salads, wraps, chilitos, pretty much everything else). Depends on table size and layout, but each person puts together the items in full, not via assembly line. I can make make a full rack of 8 cheese coneys in under 30 seconds. I work drive thru a lot and have to often put $50-70 orders together on my own on busy shifts. I've even put together very large catering orders (in the ballpark of 100-300 coneys) together in an hour during a dinner rush in Clifton (because UC frats/sororities/AD stuffs). I'd say a table crew at the restaurants can put together an average order for a family of 4-5 in under a minute (unless there are fries, most Skylines cook fries to order and those take 3-4 minutes depending on the fryer and its servers' discression whether to take them out with the whole order or take them separately). The one in CM is more well suited for making Skyline so they can use both sides of the table, the on one I-Street doing it a la Subway is extremely inefficient. I never eat Skyline at the park (more due to not wanting chili+coasters, sounds like a terrible combination to me, the only time I consider it is before my Haunt visits and I usually eat at the one just outside the park or at Blue Ash Chili that's also close by), so I've never really seen them in action on a consistent basis. Obviously, making it all automated orders cuts down on order confusion since there's a LOT of different lingo used to order Skyline (mostly coneys). But siphoning everything to one location is going to be a pain for that staff. If you want to see how its done, assuming they're somewhat well staffed, go to one outside the park. I think KI should partner with the one just outside the park to train employees before putting them on the line in the park.
