  1. I'm in community bands all year and have turned playing my sax into a hobby including transposing a lot of music I just want to play for fun (and potentially for random solo gigs, may start to share recordings on here). College basketball was a big thing for me for a while, but I'm not liking what college football (which I've stopped watching) is starting to do with the other sports so BB might be up in the air. Its a bit tough as I find it hard trying to find things to do of interest in the winter (I don't dislike winter as much as many do), maybe Pops/CSO concerts if I find some I like and a bit of random photography if something presents itself.
  2. Now that I'm seeing both Loch Ness Monster and Big One at Blackpool being retracked, I'm starting to go through the what if's of whether that would have worked with Vortex. I'm hoping Magnum is in good enough shape to retrack in such a way as well.
  3. I've caught a hat on Diamondback and a scarf on Beast. I've also been hit by coins on Vortex when they dropped from the top of the loops and landed as we bottomed out. EDIT: Oops, I didn't know I posted the same thing a few posts above.
  4. Wasn't the Dinosaurs Alive! film an upcharge at first? I think that may have delt a blow to its popularity. I know Spongebob did start to lose popularity its last few years, but it was also left there for an eternity compared to the previous films before ending its run.
  5. James Bond: License to Thrill was my favorite film shown there.
  6. ^Before in 2018. The entire figure 8 section was jackhammer city (I rode on a center of the car row). Weather also affected it as it didn't have the ejector air that it supossedly has and felt sluggish. Its at 16 out of 37 wooden coaster I've ridden.
  7. I always thought of an alternate reality where KI waited a few years to build SOB as an Intamin a la El Toro, but from what I've heard about El Toro aging (plus my own experience riding it), I'm not so sure that would have gone well either (would have at least been a better ride and lasted longer). Such a boring layout, and a 200 ft wooden coaster with no airtime wasn't a good thing either.
  8. I think there is a slight possiblity that some Arrows get rebuilt. I think the B&M rebuilds of Nemesis and Hulk have created that spark.
  9. Could they just be having the conference the same weekend as Coasterstock as a separate event?
  10. Backlot into pretty much anything better than California stunt driving.
  11. Doesn't BGW have a thing where KD can't build a new B&M? Or is Cedar Flags paying through the nose to get around it or did it expire if true?
  12. Maybe its one of those old light strings where if one bulb goes out, they all go out.
  13. I got a few snaps on it when I was down at Carowinds a few years ago.
  14. I'm kinda jealous of Pennsylvania where the smaller parks are allowed to co-exist with the bigger parks. I wish there were 1 or 2 good smaller park options in Ohio/NKY, at least something closer than Louisville.
  15. So this means we're going to give Zamperla a bit more credit now? I just want to know how they're reinforcing switch track that can handle a multi-ton train going triple-digit speeds.
  16. I just realized its only the former Paramount parks that are doing Winterfests. All those are close to big cities. Kings Island- Cincinnati Carowinds- Charlotte Kings Dominion- Richmond and piggy back's off Williamsburg, not too far from DC going by east coast travel standards Canada's Wonderland- Toronto CGA- San Fransisco
  17. Cedar Point, compared to most other CF parks, is more or less out in the middle of nowhere (its over an hour from Cleveland, Akron and Toledo, Columbus and Detroit are around 2) and most people don't want to trek over an hour in the cold, plus one bit of lake effect snow and you cancel. Also, CP has a big lack of indoor facilities.
  18. I've ridden Moonshine and the Smokey Mt Alpine. The former is a bit faster, both in ride time and actual mph speed, to me, and the later is longer (I think its the longest in the area, possibly the US). The former is really good at night being so close to the Gatlinburg strip, too.
  19. Oh I respect them a lot, I know one of the trumpet players, they're great.
  20. I have a question regarding auditions for instruments- they use a hired group for some shows, what do they do with additional horn/guitar/drum players who audition? Asking as I may indulge in auditioning on sax again.
  21. Herschend has also done wonders improving the experience at Kentucky Kingdom.
  22. ^I honestly think if you gut the building of Haunt/storage/motion chair stuff and spruce it up, it could be a decent building to work with. On a tangent with the action theater, I really wish I could find footage of the Days of Thunder and James Bond films that showed there...
  23. Don should troll Chad by posting something like that but have the information be slightly wrong where you can tell Chad doesn't do his homework, is unoriginal, and to call his bluff for copying posts.
  24. I'm shuddering at the notion of the kind of wind chill Orion would produce...
  25. Somehow I got pushed off liking them through FB's algorithms or something. Fixed now.
