  1. Anyone else notice that Beast and the kids/family coasters (Flying Ace and Woodstock Express) aren't listed on the Coasters page? Also, it doesn't seem like the other headings in that section (Thrill Rides/Family Rides, etc.) are not working. Otherwise, the new site looks pretty slick! EDIT: Also, I like their 404 Error page. Try clicking on the Planet Snoopy link on the main page and see what happens!
  2. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview (it's really cool that this is becoming a "thing" now that KIC does!); only 6 more days until we ride into the unknown to see what's in the shed on Mystic Timbers!
  3. Gotta say, I like the whole "ride into the unknown" factor about Mystic Timbers, as reflected in the above picture. 7 more days!
  4. Thanks for the forecast, DubVLegend! Looks to be a fantastic week in general weather-wise! 8 more days ya'll!
  5. The queue line is great; the curvy part reminds me of Slaughter House's exit. Mystic Timbers is shaping up to be a really nice addition to the park; between the shed, themng and the ride itself, it seems KI is pulling out all the stops! 10 more days!
  6. This happens to me and it's frustrating as heck! Sometimes, when I'll type a post and it takes it a second to catch up. When I press backspace (as there are misspelled words), sometimes it just takes me back a page. Thankfully, the text is there when I come back, but it's still super frustrating. I think this mostly has to do with the fact that I'm using IE, but when I use Firefox, instead of this issue, it takes a second to process and the text sometimes appears slowly. My theory as that there are a lot of devices pkugged into the WiFi, i dunno. However, when I use KIC on my phone (like I'm doing now), it works great. However, I really wish I could use KIC on my laptop consistantly as it's a pain to type every. single. letter. Especially when I have a lot to say lol EDIT: For refrerence, I use a Windows 10 laptop.
  7. Just saw Drop Tower testing about 10 minutes ago. 11 days until Opening Day!
  8. Maybe "they" are the Outlaws, perhaps? But seriously, CP is finally saying something regarding RMC Mean Streak! Wonder what'll happen next...
  9. I think Adventure Express would beg to differ But I see what you mean, an RMC hybrid! I don't think I'd want Racer touched, other than maybe regular maintenance of replacing wood and maybe a repaint of its current colors. Also, speaking of RMC, did you hear about their new project coming to Kiddytown in 2018? Check it out on Coaster101!
  10. The shed looks beautiful! The shed in the video looked cool, but seeing it actually built, it looks great!
  11. So, now that I see the vine in context (in rcwizard13's picture), it's not as annoying as I previously thought. And yes, KI has outdone themselves with all the theming on this thing. 17 more days!!!
  12. Good stuff, I enjoyed your story! I too started with The Beastie, and long story short, I liked coasters when I was a kid, but was hesitant. For me, it was about milestones such as Son of Beast (first looping coaster) and Flight of Fear (first indoor coaster). It wasn't until high school that I really became the enthusiast I am today- my first major solo coaster trip was to Six Flags Great America in 2008 and I had a blast. Flash forward to 2 years ago, where I successfully went to Hershey and Dorney with my cousin; and then last year when I took a solo trip to Kentucky Kingdom (I paid for everything except for the hotel). I'm hoping this year that along with Mystic Timbers, I can get to Carowinds to make Nighthawk my 100th coaster. I'd also like to get back to Cedar Point and maybe a trip to The Kingdom. That's my coaster history in a nutshell
  13. Though I'm way more excited about the ride itself than I am about the shed, I am still curious about it and would like to be surprised by #whatsintheshed rather than have it spoiled to me. Also, I watched that FB video and MT seems slower than I was expecting. I'm guessing with all the test cycles needed to break it in and with fully loaded trains of people, it'll be much faster than the video shows (or at least, it will feel faster!) 18 days until I ride this thing!!!
  14. Sounds like a great time; thanks for riding Nighthawk for me! I plan on making that Y2K coaster my 100th when I arrive in June/July. I'm also looking forward to riding Fury.
  15. 18 more days until Kings Island opens for 2017! I can't wait to ride Mystic Timbers and The Bat and see my fellow KIC friends again! :D

  16. Sounds like you had a great time. I hope to get down there in June/July to make Nighthawk my 100th coaster! I'm also interested to ride Vortex and Fury, which I hope to make #99 and #101, respectively.
  17. Guess what everyone? Delirium's testing! Also, The Bat's just chillin' on the lift! 21 days!
  18. Thanks for the info; it'll be interesting to see if there are any new acts this season since there appears to be a mostly new cast.
  19. I only went to KD once in '01 and had a good time. Unfortuantely, I've never been back. While I only rode 4 rides when I was there, I did enjoy Anaconda, Volcano and Avalanche. If I get a chance to go back, I'd love to ride Dominator and The Crypt.
  20. When I read your comment (and similar comments), I was thinking, Meteor (at Dorney) better be a 5! as it freaked me out the first time I rode as I didn't expect to be flung upside down backwards! More on topic, both Demon Drop and Dominator at Dorney are 5's, but oddly enough, DT at KD is a 4 (as are Carowinds, Great America's, and Canada's Wonderland versions)
  21. Essentially, I guess. I didn't realize Mako had similar colors until I looked at pics of it
  22. To me, that "sheep" on MT's sign looks like (and reminds me of) Son of Beast's old baby carriage that was used in the promos and on the cover of the 2000 (iirc) park map. Also, the sign looks cool and I get what they were going for by putting Kings Island on the sign; it's like a roadside attraction sign (in a good way). Also, that dangling vine looks like tinsel and I hope it is shaped up before it opens so we can read the sign. Speaking of the sign, I agree with Shaggy''s perspective about KI being indirectly advertised (thru selfies, etc.) by being on the sign. EDIT: Also, Don; thanks for taking the time to answer our questions about this fantastic new ride! 25 more days!
  23. When I first read the thread title, I immediately thought of S&S's Thrust Air Coasters. There were only 2 made, Hypersonic XLC (at KD- which is now gone) and Dodonpa (in Japan). I've heard that for 2017, Dodonpa is having some track work done and a giant loop is being constructed where the hill once stood. This means that there is no un-modified Thust Air Coaster standing (unless that prototype on S&S's property is still there). More to the topic, suspended coasters (the Arrow/Vekoma kind, not the Caripro single-rail kind...) are an endangered species that I'd like to see more of. I've enjoyed my rides on The Bat (1993) at KI as well as Iron Dragon at The Point. If we are talking non-coasters, I would love to see more S&S Sky Swats. There's only 1 in the world, and it's in the UK (Thorpe Park to be exact).
  24. 28 days until Kings Island opens for 2017! :D

  25. Sorry to double-post, but according to KI's site (https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/live-entertainment), Cirque's off day is Wednesday and it starts May 27th!
