  1. Guess what? According to the website, "Back to the 90's" starts Opening Day! Plus, they have all the show's schedules* online: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/live-entertainment *At least, the ones that have been announced so far Also, according to KI's Twitter, the 2017 map has been finalized! Looking forward to a great 2017 season in just 30 days!
  2. Not sure. CP hasn't announced anything (to my knowledge), but I'm guessing it'll open in 2018. EDIT: What I have seen so far of RMC Mean Streak looks incredible.
  3. Any news about DuoFannick returning? Or even Sam (one of the gnomes)?
  4. Great interview! That station reminds me of a cross between King Cobra/Adventure Express's station (as it's giving off that Jungle/Outpost vibe) and The Beast. 31 more days till we ride our very own GCI!
  5. I first saw the change on my phone and I practically squealed with delight! Now that I'm on my laptop, I like the desktop view as well! Great job/thanks to all involved.
  6. Hollywood Nights was a cool show, with that awesome However, The Boyz are Back was one of my favorite past "musical" shows they've done, along with Way Too Much TV.
  7. Oh, I didn't see the roof wasn't done yet lol
  8. Looks like the shed's done! 33 more days until we can ride!
  9. That looks pretty cool. I like the tropical theming (like that statue head halfway thru the ride) and the waterfalls throughout the ride. The parrot is also pretty cool. Did you know that there is some Atlantian writing on one of the props? I believe it's on the diving bell. Check out more facts about the slide here: http://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20170303/32528/walt-disney-world-s-newest-ride
  10. So, I actually went to "Circus Xtreme" today, and overall it was cool, but it was sorta hit or miss for me. Instead of writing a trip report (which I started to do). I'm going to list the things that were cool and not-so-cool. (WARNING: SPOILERS!!!) Cool: The theming- The theme of the whole show was going around the world to find the most extreme acts, which was a cool concept that was executed well (it went Desert -> Mt. Everest -> Space (?) -> Undersea -> INTERMISSION -> Jungle -> Concrete Jungle) The final act- This took place in the "concrete jungle" of downtown, where there were breakdancers, dogs doing tricks to some instrumental versions of modern songs, BMX'ers (which was cool as these guys came to our school when I was a kid, and I was always bummed as they never did a flip- well, they did multiple flips!) and some of the Cirque-like acts. These included trampoline tricks similar to Skeleton Crew and Cirque Imagine (though they did a cool thing where they double bounced the people so they went higher) and a slack rope performer (the rope was cleverly disguised as caution tape near the "concrete" area). I was bummed the slack rope guy only did like one trick, but hey, at least they included it! Under the Sea- This "scene" featured mermaids and girls hanging onto rings, which I had only previously seen in a music video ("Malang", check it out if you like Cirque!) The cannon- It wouldn't be a circus without someone being shot out of a cannon! I've seen it in cartoons, but never in real life, but I must say, it was definitely something different. The Intermission- They had some cool stuff to keep people engaged, such as trying to fly a helicopter/boomerang like-thing into a trash can (one guy actually made it and then one guy moved the trash can so the other glider could land there) and a large scale variation of the bottle flip (as seen via DudePerfect). All other misc. things: This includes the tightrope act, firebreathers/jugglers, these "skydiving" glo-in the dark clown things, and the pendulum guy (this guy ran on a spinning pendulem and jumped rope). They also had an aerial silk person (like the princess for Cirque Imagine), but that was kind of lost in the action (see the first point below...). EDIT: I also meant to say, I was impressed that there was a live band on stage for the music (though there was also pre-recorded stuff as well, I believe). Not-So-Cool: The sensory overload- Unlike Cirque where it's relatively intimate with a cast of at most, 10-20 people, there at least 50 people out on the floor at one time. At one point where there were firebreathers, sword swallowers, dancers and the like (like during the strongman routine), it was hard to follow what we were supposed to be watching because there was just so much going on. The Animal Acts- Yes, the poodles were cute, but they also had Tigers and Camels, which I was "meh" about 'cause I question the treatment (yes, they had whips for the tigers and camels...). Also, I thought white tigers were an Endangered species (which is weird as they played an ad during the Intermission where they say they are committed to saving the Endangered tigers, irony) Length- Some of the acts seemed too long, but maybe that's because I'm used to Cirque being around 30 minutes.
  11. Quick question: With the new update, are there no longer friend lists (as I only see the option to "follow" a user)?
  12. Cirque is awesome! And yes, i can attest to MagentaLizard's status as a Cirque enthusiast. I would love to see DuoFannick come back and it would blow my mind if there was a trapeze-off between Shannon and Evelyn (season 2 of Imagine) and DuoFannick. Bonus points if they use TFK's "Give up the Ghost" as the song during this act. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he? In all seriousness, I am excited to see what these talented guys and gals bring to the table this season.
  13. As can I, sorta... (some departments have a better view then I, but hey, the window is facing in that direction)!
  14. I like this idea- I know when I went to Holiday World last year, one of the Rock the World stages was in the 4th of July section and I enjoyed the music even though I wasn't there for the event.
  15. I only watched the Adventure Express part of the video and that fog coming off of those sticks looked really cool; they should bring that back!
  16. I enjoyed T3- it's an odd little coaster Give it a try and see what you think. Storm Chaser is also pretty fun, but stick to the front as the back is painful!
  17. @Zexeos: As for a begginer maze, I'd reccommend either Carnevil or Urgent Scare (it wasn't very scary when I went thru last year at least). Blackout may not have many Scareactors, but what it lacks in people, it makes up for in audio/visual effects! Blackout is the scariest maze I've done at KI; I was shaking when I come out. This is coming from a guy who was scared to death to work Haunt (as a Sweep) 3-4 seasons ago (and I still don't really like getting scared), but just last season, I did all the mazes within 2 visits. I think it's all about exposure to the environment; Slaughter House used to scare me, but now it's like walking through a friend's house (who has a bunch of weird relatives...). Next season, give a maze a try and see what you think; you might even grow to like it -MDMC, a semi-Haunt enthusiast
  18. I'm probably not of any help to solve this mystery (as I don't remember the bridge), but.... I love seeing those old maps from the mid-90's (and late 90's/early 2000's as well...) and I'm also curious about the Swan Lake bridge. Anyone on here have any pics?
  19. I would love another launch, but maybe not the Extreme Spinning coaster kind (for clarification, I'm talking about that particular model; I'm not against a launched spinning coaster entirely, that would be really fun! ) I'm thinking an Impulse (like V2/Possessed), Sky Rocket (think Superman at SFDK), or even a custom Mack Launch.
  20. As I've said on here before, I'd love to see Action Zone/part of Oktoberfest become Adventure Village once again, and I think Bat, Banshee, and most other rides would work (with the exception of maybe DT and Invertigo - which ironically, were the 2 big rides that opened with (Paramount) Action Zone in 1999).
  21. For Q#1, I answered with the second option. In my mind, Vortex is one of those great Kings Island classic coasters (see also Bat, Flight of Fear, Beast Adventure Express and Blue Racer) and it's pretty iconic to the park. However, my experiences have varied. I've had awesome rides (particularly those in the back or those summer night rides through the fog) as well as some rough ones that make me dizzy (and see stars in the double loops). All in all, I ride it every once in a while and it's a good ride. I think I'd miss it if (when?) it left (leaves) as I (or anyone) might take Vortex for granted and then it's gone one day. And I must confess, another KI Arrow great has stolen my heart even more (sorry @homestar92, to me, Vortex is not bae! ). For Q#2, I answered with the second option as well due to the varied ride experiences detailed above.
  22. That's great; that means the park is starting to open up again! Also, those lights on MT are nice. Now, if only we could know when Bat will be getting its trains put back on...
  23. That's so cool! Thanks for letting me know
  24. Precisely, Chris! Also, Pulsar looks fantastic! I personally believe that we should get one of these in the US, and it would help the US, and everything like such as... (sorry, I had to...) Seriously, though, we need one of those in the US; just look how efficient that turntable is. And, it's like an impulse coaster and a huge water ride (like Congo Falls) all in one. This should be given to a park that doesn't have a big water ride, but also needs/wants a coaster.
  25. Good read; sounds like a really cool thing CP does. I'm curious about those promo VCRs/VHS's; care to elaborate?
