Many of us thought that would happen after the July photo was pointed out, and yet here we are LOL....
-
Remember they used a similar picture in the Christmas in July 2024 sale And there are a few more places within the park itself that this picture or one similar is displayed for all to see....
-
It is actually FUN now LOL. So we either call it FUN, SF or Six Flags LOL But yeah I refer to it as SIX also LOL. So weird to have the Six Flags name but the Cedar Fair symbol.

Isn't it ironic that of all the photos they had to pull from, they pick one where Don is in it LOL. Paying homage to the creator of the event!

The park’s response when asked if there would be ride removals
disco2000 replied to Cincinatired's topic in Kings Island
That corresponds fairly well with the timetable my friend indicated. 2013 and 2014 were probably continuation of the foundation you set and by 2015 enough turnover and new direction went with the impersonal approach. It was certainly noticed by my friend. -

So CP updated their FL page and it currently doesn't show the 1 ride limitation with the daily purchase FL like it did last year. -
The park’s response when asked if there would be ride removals
disco2000 replied to Cincinatired's topic in Kings Island
It has been years since they had personal responses to general inquiries into Guest Services. My friend emails them at least a couple times a year due to medical issues with her daughter. She just did a search in her email and from 2015 to present (well 2024), it was the generic non-personal signature like above. She said 2011-2013 felt the most personal with names and direct line phone numbers and felt like the email was actually read and and a response thought out. Doesn't mean every response is like above. I am sure there are some that get a personal response based on the specifics of the issue or maybe a supervisor took the email, but I wouldn't read too much into the non-personal signature of your reply back. -
I think there is enough demand and with the HW event already being sold out, it will potentially give those that have been shut out of Coasterstock in the past a chance to get in. But I am sure some that travel to the area will sign up for both.

Already a thread about it....

Take a page out of Cedar Point's playbook - let's take an already crowded park and offer a cheaper pass for the locals (granted CPs Gold pass wasn't marketed as for locals, but many locals that only went to CP got to drop from Platinum to Gold and then opened up the park to many that felt Gold was a cheap price point).

RIP Kings Dominion WinterFest?
disco2000 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
What about this post. One could argue the 2nd bullet is intended for 2025? Except for the legal folks that is... -

RIP Kings Dominion WinterFest?
disco2000 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Exactly! Their legal team will imply that was the rest of 2024 WF; conversely, since it is for a 2025 pass, the purchaser is assuming it is for 2025 WF. Caveat Emptor -

So if it is true, is showing 2025 unlimited visits to WF false advertising or a bait and switch or simply caveat emptor? -

But that in and of itself is a strategy and I mentioned the exact same thought previously. So either this is their strategy that they thought out and people are trying to understand why they are going in that direction or folks are giving them too much credit that there is a strategy behind it and they are simply winging it and doing as they please with no strategy, thought behind it, or concern for long-term consequences. I guess if they get rid of The Beast, then we know they have no strategy and are simply looking at the O&M spreadsheet and cutting the highest costs rides

With enough money anything is possible. The park completely takes apart the trains and rebuilds them. Running until 12/31 and opening mid-April means a shortened time to perform this maintenance. Or do they wait until Memorial Day to open? Adding more maintenance staff could turn it around quicker. The park/chain has to decide if that additional expense justifies keeping those rides open during Winterfest. The 50 foot platform doesn't have wheelchair access (elevator doesn't stop there), so between that and all the wiring, it won't be re-opening anytime soon. Again, with enough money they could cut out elevator access, reprogram the elevators, re-route the wiring, but it is worth the expense?
-
They have always charged parking unless you have a pass. Temperature and other things like maintenance dictate what is running. Eiffel Tower is turned into a tree and lots of stuff up there 50 foot platform hasn't been open in many years. Between accessibility and lighting wiring, it won't be open anytime soon.

How did KI do for Haunt 2019 in polls and attendance after Vortex closure was announced....(for those that don't know, it did very well) Sometimes companies don't want to learn from the past...

Do you think the mindset is they have your money and let you go next year with it gone and thus the sting is gone by August and then renew for 2026 or is that giving them too much credit LOL
