It varies per park. Historically KI is one of the last CF parks to announce. But generally (except for the Covid years), the parks usually open around the same time as the year prior, so looking at this year's calendar for the parks you want to visit next year should give you a good idea.

2022 & 2023 Additions and Improvements Notice
disco2000 replied to MrSourNinja's topic in Coming Attractions
Crazier things have happened, but I find it hard to believe that they would have left all those original firms in this document if they do not/did not plan to have contracts with those firms. With all the firms listed, speculation can run wild on this and if all of this means more than just maintenance work, then we are in for a 2024 treat! Could erroneously leaving companies in that they do not plan to work with potentially open them up for liens or other liabilities? -
Cedar Fair Board Members resign

They were probably the ones that came up with the Prestige Pass that is going to bleed them dry either providing what was promised or paying the class action lawsuit -
2022 & 2023 Additions and Improvements Notice

I don't know many that put Orion over Millie...and many rank Diamondback over Orion... Orion is consistently ranked the bottom North America giga by many polls... Heck, even the golden ticket ranks Millie #3 and Orion #20 (last place giga). Not even close... Where did Diamondback fall, oh #17...ahead of Orion... -
That is how they get around the no vaping policy
-
You forgot one LOL: Soak City VIP Lounge as it is now being called a reserved area. and wait until next year when the preferred lot is full and VIP is standing room only and they add "subject to availability"
-
Not Prestige lol..oh wait that isn't an add-on

Kennywood incident 9/24
disco2000 replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
From the article: According to Allegheny County police, three people were shot inside the park in the “Lost Kennywood” section by the “Music Express” ride. This happened around 10:49 p.m. Witnesses told police that two groups of juveniles were involved in an altercation and that was when shots were fired. One handgun was recovered on Kennywood property, police said. Kennywood has metal detectors and yet someone still got a gun past them and within the park property (previous events we have heard around the country were a gun in the parking lot, but this one apparently made it past the metal detectors). All of these incidents continue to put these events in bad light. At some point, more parks will decide it just isn't worth the bad press. We will continue to see chaperone policies being implemented at parks or they simply do away with these events and cater to the spending family demographic... -
Carowinds turn for unruly teens 9/17/22
disco2000 replied to disco2000's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Or maybe these policies are in effect a way to control attendance without having to impose an attendance capacity restriction...just let the effects of said policies do it for them. I am sure they are still making enough money even if the attendance is down. And per cap may actually go up because maybe those that would spend in the park but avoided it based on perception that it is unsafe will now attend. -
I always chuckle when someone says this...there are over 100 high schools within the greater Cincinnati area....certainly not all of them had Homecoming same weekend.... While some scare actors were good, most I saw were more interested in taking selfies with guests than doing scares (talking about the ones not in houses or mazes).... A lot of pictures on FB confirm the number of selfies taken with the roaming scare actors LOL

Carowinds turn for unruly teens 9/17/22

According to different sources on social media, Scarowinds was it's normal packed self, despite no bag policy and a chaperone policy in effect... -
Someone probably stole the phone charging cords as they were loading their bag up with chips and bottled beverages... I saw they moved the entrance to VIP as well. Makes it a little less obvious to someone now that they can sneak in there for some infused water LOL.
-
There are many that think that....but regardless of what the park puts together, the attendance is still there. Last night appeared to be one of the higher attended opening night Friday's in a long time...
-
Yes they do. Just north of The Bat, across from Great Wolf Lodge.

Everyone has an opinion and the opinions range from voted best Halloween Event to this season was worse than the offering last year...to everywhere in between. Certainly getting a fair amount of poor reviews on social media...
-
And yet it continues to get voted Best Halloween event....
-
I suspect that when you do actually attend, your opinion on the event based on photos and reviews will change....for the worse....
