  1. What a misleading article title and the phrasing of the article is weird/wrong - Haunt isn't every Sunday during that period, and no mention of Winterfest either. Daily operation ends August 21, but there are still plenty of days that the park is open... So many improvements are needed in that title and article... https://local12.com/news/local/kings-island-2022-season-end-august-21-amusement-park-close-labor-day-weekend-halloween-haunt-50th-anniversary-golden-celebration-mason-cincinnati-ohio MASON, Ohio (WKRC) - Kings Island's 2022 season will officially end on August 21. The park will be open again Aug. 27 and 28, Labor Day weekend from Sept. 2-5, and Sept. 11. Halloween Haunt will run Fridays through Sundays from Sept. 23-Oct. 30. Kings Island celebrated its 50th anniversary this season with a "Golden Celebration," complete with a special fireworks show narrated by "Brady Bunch" star Barry Williams.
  2. ^yes it is! Banshee is holding its own with two trains. Rarely has line been starting down steps.
  3. With two train operation today, the train is going up the lift hill at one speed and no slow mode since the previous train is well off the 2nd lift.
  4. ^ I was implying the quantity of prestige passes sold not the one time use pass....I totally understand the concept of the one time use pass and totally understand it is a once and gone...in fact I have used them before and know how they work... I was being a little sarcastic too (hence the LOL in my post) that if they way oversell the prestige passes, some of the lines at times could look like some of the Sundays in October where FL line is longer than regular line because everyone is redeeming their free fastlane for renewing LOL. I know I have seen The Beast FL longer than the regular line on occasion those last few Sundays.... Usually when there is an emoji or LOL, it can imply a little sarcasm....
  5. Well, that is one way to limit the potential number of them sold LOL...(but I bet if you select the link on the first page of this thread it will work)...
  6. So if they oversell the Presige pass and you never can park in preferred or use the VIP lounge, you are ok with that? I could certainly see the passholder that comes to the park later in the day not being able to use either one if the demand for the pass is high and not capped. Unlike the season long fastlane where you will still get a wristband if they sold out FL for the day and there are many opportunities to still use said FL, as it stands now, the preferred lot and VIP lounge is much more limited in capacity. Unless they increase the supply, the demand could overly exceed what is available....or maybe build a queue for the VIP lounge lol... And let's face it, there are more unknowns than knowns about this pass program right now... It isn't doomsday it is devil's advocate and the park does learn things by throwing these out early and see response here and on social media...they listen, learn, and improve and we will see changes of the Prestige between now and opening day as they listen to customers and try to improve on the offering... Remember duiing the offseason of second year of meal plan when they changed the meal plan to specific windows instead of just 4 hours apart. No doubt the outcry here and social media before the season started resulted in the the 4 hour window we have now.
  7. I am not talking about the one per day front of the line paper, I am talking about how many Prestige passes will they make available - is it limited or unlimited? Search here and nobody thought the park would sell out season long Fast Lane and they do every year quickly...and they are a lot more than $150. I think you underestimate how many people will buy. I could see people not buy season long Fast Lane and opt for this instead. I know people that this is what they will do I think demand for this pass will be higher than we all think... People have already purchased the Prestage pass with all these unknowns...
  8. ^and hope they limit the quantity of prestige passes sold or you still may be back to Racer using your one-time front of the line pass their lol. I see visions of some of the October Sundays where FL line is longer than regular line cause everyone is redeeming their free fastlane lol.... Edited to set the record straight since people keep replying to this post thinking I don't know what the front of the line pass means - I HAVE ALWAYS UNDERSTOOD AND I AM FULLY AWARE THAT THE FRONT OF THE LINE PASS IS A ONE TIME USE FOR ONE RIDE PER VISIT AND IT IS NOT A FAST LINE WRISTBAND....I HAVE USED THE ONE TIME VOUCHER BEFORE GOING BACK TO AT LEAST 2016 AND I AM WELL AWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW THEY ARE USED... I was making a sarcastic comment that apparently people miss what lol and can imply in that situation...
  9. Or possibly the old Paramount Passholder entrance to the left of the existing front gate.
  10. I can hear Karyn on FunTv now..... "What is better than Platinum, why that would be Prestege +"
  11. Seeing that some of the other parks are now mentioning the Prestige pass, one should conclude that the + version would gain you access to those at parks with them?
  12. We have a clue that Timberwolf is returning based on the Terms and Conditions But it also contradicts since is says parking is included, yet it says here Fees for parking are not included... Fees for parking, food, merchandise, games, pay-per-experience attractions, concerts, and special events are not included...
  13. So is this a return of a passholder lot like back in Paramount days, unless this is to put you into the existing preferred parking lot? Looks like the Waterpark will get a VIP area next year, and based on this it appears most/all of the parks will be introducing VIP areas for 2023. 15% Discount is mentioned twice, so do you get to use the discount twice per purchase And you are right, if they do not cap this, the VIP lounges will get overtaken and crowded quickly.
  14. Do we count Dippin Dots to the chain mix LOL. Or Auntie Anne's. Or Graeters. Regardless, a large component of food offerings are chains.
  15. ^There are more than 2 places to get Larosas in the park...and if you throw Soak City in the mix then you can add another Skyline to the mix (albeit an Express) And you forgot the chain Tom+Chee to your list.
  16. The number is 513-434-6337
  17. One would think that, but per cap spending is up a lot, as are season pass sales. More people have opted for stay-cations and thus hit the regional parks more than say a trip to Disney or another far away destination and are spending some of what they planned to spend on these items. I know plenty of people visiting the park more because of this, and I know many long-time Disney fans that gave up Disney visits this year and upgraded to CF Platinum and visited the reasonable driving distance parks instead. They also mentioned that attendance per operating day at the Company’s legacy parks is up 2% year to date, further showing people are staying closer to him and visiting regional parks instead. @BoddaH1994and Don even talk about that on their podcast that the trend the regional parks experience seem to not be as impacted and actually tend to do a little better when people decide to do stay-cations. They actually mentioned last month that thru July 4th, the attendance variance resulting from a slower recovery within the group sales channel has impacted total attendance, so it seems logical that the group/company outings are still down a month later, which is evident by visiting the park on a weekend and not seeing as many "Welcome XYZ" companies on the marque sign. They also mentioned 94 fewer operating days at the Company’s legacy parks due to a natural calendar shift and changes in early-season park operating schedules as part of the attendance decrease.
  18. In keeping up with The Beast and adding footage to it's world record length, the same will happen to Banshee
  19. On the earnings call today (8/3/22), record revenue continues for the year and are well above pre-covid 2019 numbers despite having 1 million less visitors, proving you can make money with fewer guests... Basically they are setting records for everything but attendance. But that decline is probably mostly contributed to outings that haven't returned in full-force since covid. And of course, after that announcement of attendance down, the unit price is now down... I would take higher revenue with fewer guests than more guests and declining revenue per cap, which was the trend leading up to covid. Per cap numbers were declining leading up to covid, but now they are at a record per cap spending, up 26% over 2019. In-park per capita spending is $60.76. Reinstatement of unit-holder distribution and authorization of program to repurchase up to $250 million units indicates the strong position they are now in.
  20. Glad you actually saw security come based on your text. I know many that have texted with no result. Sadly do you think it stopped her from doing again elsewhere in the park? Do you think they took her name to know if another security guard catches her later so she could be escorted from the park? Personally I think they should have done more. At a minimum she should be pulled from the line and probably should be tossed from the park. Only then when word gets out of zero tolerance will we start to see behavior change by all but the most rotten apples. Sadly I have seen the same person get stopped 3 times on the same day, each by a different security person, for smoking in the park. Sadly the person is also a passholder based on the all season drink cup he carries around and further would be a recognizable figure by many people... Further, I have seen him smoking and being stopped by security on multiple different days....including passholder preview day... I actually talked to security after I saw them tell him of the policy for the 3rd time and I was like "This is the 3rd time I have seen security stop him just today for smoking" and they just kinda shrugged their shoulders and told me they reminded him. Some things need a zero tolerance, and especially a passholder that should know better. But sadly, if they only issue a warning when someone leaves a dog in their car in 110+ heat, I guess vaping in line isn't a priority...
  21. I am sure someone knows LOL
  22. At this point it could be for anything. Maybe something as simple as surveying where to put up a metal fence and remove the wood fence to open up the view of Banshee from that vantage point or it could be for a future attraction like an expanded VIP lounge to go along with a new pass offering....
  23. Now a McDonald's is getting in on the action.... https://www.timesnownews.com/viral/this-mcdonalds-outlet-has-banned-all-under-18s-from-entering-after-5-pm-knowwhy-article-93247331
