converted? I thought toppler track was considered wood? -
I don't see why not, you're required to take your shoes.

Which "El Toro" are you referring to?http://rcdb.com/4274.htm That looks like a very fun coaster.. Regardless of layout I'm just happy the park is adding a coaster other than a B&M. It's about time we get some variety. -

You know, Intamin Pre fab woodies have square footers... -

I would be surprised if they did not choose the native Cincinnati company The Gravity Group to manufacture and design our next woodie. -
The SOB station sit's fairly high up, a steep lift hill ( typical for most giga coasters ) would easily clear Banshee, and as far as final break run it would be no different than when SOB was there, so The Bat would pose no issues.

I would be pleasantly surprised if we got an Intamin Prefab wooden coaster. Intamin tho may not be in the best relations with Cedar Fair has a good track record ( in terms of safety and reliability ) with their prefab woodie lineup. And from the reviews they are all fantastic and just as smooth as steel. The El Toro has held the #1 spot for the woodie category in the Golden ticket awards and Mitch Hawkers Best Rollercoaster poll. ( if that means anything ). -

A representative of RMC of course it's wood! I want to keep my job! But by definition it is not. Wooden coaster has running rails made of steel strips mounted on laminated wood. Steel coaster has running rails made of tubular steel but in RMC's case it's squared instead of tubular. -

Both Wildfire and Lightning Rod use this style of track, it is just painted Brown not red. -

Both Wildfire and Lighting Rod have topper track example: If I'm not mistaken the wheels of a coaster roll along the tracks. The track we see in this photo is painted red. The track looks oddly metallic for "wood". -
I don't see the giga being placed in that spot in the park, my guess was they reuse the old SOB location. There is alot of land cleared already from the SOB layout that was not used by Banshee. If Vortex is ever replaced, hopefully we receive a multi looping B&M floorless coaster in its place.

If we get an RMC wouldn't that mean we are getting another steel coaster? -tr0y quietly walking towards the exit door. -
Longest I have personally seen is a 3 hour wait for Millenium Force. Longest I've been apart of was 2 and a half hour wait for The Beast, during Halloween Haunt.
-
Woodstock gliders renamed as the Flying Eagles. Woodstock express renamed to The Beastie.
-
If anything was to be changed on The Beast. I would wish that the Trim going down the second hill ( after the first tunnel ) was moved to the other side before the turn and MCBR. It would really be nice to get a good pop of airtime going down it. ( But as Terp said it probably has unfavorable outcomes to the ride and maintenance. ) I would also like to see the coaster get a good wood stain like it received back then. ( Don't ding me if I'm wrong but wasn't water flowing out of the chutes back then? Maybe have that return too? ) and if they could change out the lapbars on the trains that would be perfect. That is the only issue in terms of ride comfort I have with the coaster it really eats up leg room. Last but not least I wish they never put the Slaughter House in its current location.

Fastest is irrelevant, that could mean a multitude of things given how most parks market their coasters and rides anymore. -
The fact that a trail is being created in the woods has my attention!

What is your seat of choice on Kings Island's coasters?
Tr0y replied to Hoeter's topic in Kings Island
I prefer backseat on every coaster at Kings Island. The backseat provides the most thrill. The front would be my second favorite as it is more scenic. -

Off topic but, has anyone noticed on the webcam, that one of The Bat train's is sitting midway on the lift hill. Any reason behind that? -

Can anyone confirm what type of trees are being marked? There is a possibility that the tree removal going on could be because they are trying to eradicate the Emarld Ash Borer ( beetle ). But back to the coaster subject, I don't see KI getting a massive coaster such as a giga in this location, this soon after Banshee. I'm not throwing out the possibility of it being a coaster tho, considering the Point got 2 coasters 3 years apart. That would be the same amount of years between Banshee 2014 and a possible coaster for 2017. But nothing of the size of a giga. -
I don't understand why thread was created, considering the long and lengthy discussion on how poor KI's food concessions from last season in previous threads. I don't feel sorry for anyone renewing their season long meal plan since it was apparent by the park that nothing was going to be done for this season. For those who have bought their first Season long meal plan, my heart ( and stomach ) goes out to you.

Sunlite pool always seems packed on hot summer days. A coaster addition would be nice but flood waters would present an issue. Coney would need build up some high footers to prevent water damage, and or damage from things drifting down the Ohio river.

What ride did KI make the biggest mistake in getting ride of
Tr0y replied to Beasttamer's topic in KI Polls
Cedar Fair is to blame for that.
