  1. RUMOR: According to In the Loop, Kings Dominion will be adding a B&M coaster, because the exclusivity rights from Busch Gardens and B&M expire. As per rumor, This would unfortunately comes at the price of a coaster removal. The coaster appointed, ( according to the rumor ) would be Shockwave the last TOGO standup coaster on the continent. And one of the only few TOGOs left in the world. As a coaster enthusiast I would hate to see that happen. Another option would be to remove Hurler. ( the better option in my opinion ). To me the removal of Hurler would make more sense considering the ride is a walk on all the time, and it seemed fairly vanilla for a woodie. With the next addition most likely being B&M, what would seem most fitting for KD? A winged coaster or a hyper similar to Diamonback or Behemoth would be my best bet. I'm hoping another manufacture could get to see the spotlight. ( Mack hyper coaster anybody? ). The options are limitless, it's a bright future for the coaster world.
  2. The pour hour is trying to get everyone through and have the crews finished and clocked out as soon as possible. It seems as KI or possibly Cedar Fair are becoming real penny pincher's with employees. What I noticed last week proves a point having people who were not hired as ride ops doing ride ops ( KI police and Life guard ). Yes both work for KI but their job titles and most likely training are not the same, which too me seems unsafe.
  3. Maybe KI's next addition will be a 300ft RMC fraudulent coaster?!
  4. In my opinion the backseats on any coaster provide the most thrill, therefor are the best seats on a coaster.
  5. As great as physical design and theming may be, KI will not do a great job maintaining it, therefor the screens would be better suited.
  6. Money was probably involved, wouldn't surprise me if SIX paid for the title.
  7. Sickens me that they allow this fraud of a coaster even be considered a wooden coaster.
  8. Is Drop Tower open?
  9. Why? B&M is far more technologically advance in the coaster world. They made a LSM launch coaster! Why would you want a different manufacture? It will just break down. B&M make the most comfortable rides! That rough shuffling was designed on purpose to be Diamondbacks rattler. There are no cons with B&M they never go wrong.
  10. The park has closed early before due to rain, but that is only if its accompanied by low attendance. The only thing that will stop operation of coasters is heavy rain and lighting.
  11. Heres the link to the interview. They talked about Fury325, but my main attention was to what's next in line for Cedar Fairs. A point that was brought up was if we would see a RMC addition,, or wooden coasters in general. Rob stated they were "definitely looking into wooden coasters." ( possibly CP future coaster? ). Another point that was brought up was the recent trend with B&M instillations in the CF chain and if we would see another manufacture. Rob stated they are "always looking at the Technology in the manufacturing community" ( hard to believe considering B&M just now built an LIM launch, or he could mean the quality of the coaster being built in factory.) Rob did state that multiple manufactures but in bids for Fury 325. ( I can only think of 3 manufacturers that have made giga coasters, B&M, Intamin, and D. H. Morgan Manufacturing. Is there Possibly another company that currently does not have a giga instillation. IE: Vekoma, Mack, or Gerstlauer have the courage to push the 300ft threshold. ). overall it was a good interview. what are your thoughts / opinions?
  12. Avoid Kings Island on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and during the Holidays. Also if you get there by opening you will have a good portion of the park out of the way before the afternoon rush. Start your day at X-base and work your way out. If you plan on doing the water park, it's also best to the that first thing when it opens.
  13. My sister convinced me to ride Flight of Fear stating there was no big drop, which was my biggest fear. Rode it, and the rest is history...
  14. Bravery stock down 28 Points!?! That's the last time I'll be taking stock advice from the Dip n' Dots guy.
  15. Looks like Logan Adamson won't be getting into KK anytime soon.
  16. You can have steel track with wooden supports and still be considered a woodie somehow.. IE: Toppler track
  17. I think I'm going to go to KK this year, probably make a detour while returning from HW. Last time I was down there was during the SIX era. My memories of it is all a blur tho. My expectations are not going to be high considering it's a much smaller park trying to get the wheels turning again. Now I'm weighing my options tho if I should get a season pass or a single day ticket. The date I will be going would be August 3rd if that means anything.
  18. Our modern wooden coaster did not last.
  19. How are food lines?
  20. Well maybe if they turned off the lights on the second half of Banshee ( after the zero g roll ) there would be enough juice to run both. ( not going to work, would make Banshee experience at night better. )
  21. A Rotor would be great addition, but that type of ride could easily make its way into X-Base ( a place that has no flat rides or restrooms) and be themed as a UFO or something along those lines.
  22. To the post above, the upkeep for The Voyage can't be all that too awful. The Beast has been getting complete replacement of track and supports during the offseason yearly. The only thing that needs replaced on The Voyage is track. Which is very minimum in terms of wood used.
