Generally, not everyone stays through the end of ERT. At least in the evenings..

1) *The* Mantis 2) They didn't get rid of it. They repainted it, modified it, replaced the trains on it, and re-themed it. They did not get rid of it.
-
Only ever use 44870!
-
At CP: "I can't believe they got rid of The Mantis." That speaks for itself.
-
At that rate.. 60 min/hr * (3 train / 10 min) = 18 train / hr 18 train/hr * (32 rider / train) = 576 rider/hr Maybe that's close to accurate, but it shouldn't be. 576 rph / 1620 rph = 35.6% of theoretical capacity That would explain why that line takes forever.

Yes, and those details should be with your check-in materials. Probably on the lanyard.
-
At DiamondStack.. Op: "How many do you have?" Group: "96." Op: "Uh, that's gonna be like ten minutes." Note that this is sarcasm; it only feels like ten minutes to dispatch three trains on DiamondStack. Er, Diamondback.

Run, Thunder, Run! -
Hmm, I never even realized that they left the name off. Intentional? Probably.

I should clarify that Cedar Point's case is to a much lesser extent than KK. Also, CP took on a lot of off-season projects in-house in addition to off-season maintenance. See also: Mantarou transformation, rides relocated to Wicked Twister midway, etc. My intent was not to say that they're of equal severity. CP stretched itself really thin if they didn't hire sufficient extra techs to compensate for the distraction from typical off-season maintenance. From the article. Something tells me KK is woefully under that mark. See also: $29.99 for two days of admission targeted at the Tennessee market. Would those two admissions count separately toward the out-of-state quota?

One might argue that Cedar Point did something similar this year, from what I gather.. On preview night, that was one thing. Opening weekend?

So what's up with this "power hour" crap on Banshee last night?

If a ride op has little/no respect for guests, who is to say that he/she would have any more respect for following safe operating procedures? -
Since everyone else has been doing it... Would anyone on here mind reporting whether Cedar Point is similar during math and science/education/whatever days?

Watching the video informed me that he was just making stuff up. For instance, complaining about the gift shop while using the ride logo imposed upon what almost looks like Kill-Mart? One might call it trolling, but certainly not serious. Not funny, either, in my opinion. I did not watch it all the way through.

Of note, Urban Dictionary does not have a record for MCBR.

One can have a deep impact within the organization without micromanaging. It's all about leading your direct reports to do the best job possible and propagate excellence and great customer service down to the front lines. How? Challenge your reports to come up with ways to improve.. friendliness, service metrics, etc. Follow up with them. A good CEO can have a ripple effect throughout the company, even in a company the size of Cedar Fair. Same with a bad CEO.. even without micromanaging.

If the surcharge is not for standard park fare, but rather the buffet at Midway Market, I personally don't see a problem with that.. so long as they never claimed that it was included with no surcharge. The lists provided in the off-season did not list Midway Market and it sounds like it might not be on the official literature handed out in the park. Last season, if someone purchased the dining plan in the brief window that Midway Market was officially offered, they were put on a list to continue to use it for the rest of the season. Those who purchased before or after did not get this privilege. As the buffet offers more food and includes access to Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, I can see having to pay extra over the dining plan that promises only an entree and a side. However, I'd rather it be more like $5 since that's about the cost difference between a typical plan meal and the buffet. If, on the other hand, Chick-Fil-A, Subway, and Pink's are somehow an up-charge at CP, I'm not sure I comprehend. As was mentioned above, the plan meals are generally ~$10. Last I checked at least the first two fell within that range.

Kings Island's Craft Beers / Banshee Brew Festival
jsus replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Of age and not one to drink. Not even at the 2013 Halloweekends media preview where we were issued alcoholic beverage tickets upon entry into dinner at Midway Market. See also: My posts regarding Raptor's former usage of Hoobastank's The Reason as a queue track. -
1) Yep. Definitely not related to the attempted changes to the All-Season Dining Plans at Cedar Fair parks from a 4-hour wait time to scheduled meal times. 2) There's a Contact Us link at the bottom of Cedar Point's website. That's usually a good place to submit feedback as it will be forwarded on to the right department. I've had questions about events and gotten emails direct from marketing with an answer.
-
That depends which park you're talking about. At Cedar Point, guests are typically instructed to, if available, use a bin, and if not, use a shirt to store a hat, rather than wearing it during the ride. They are indeed loose articles at those speeds, just like glasses are.

So what's up with this "power hour" crap on Banshee last night?
jsus replied to Keysersoze's topic in Kings Island
A significant number of guests I've witnessed don't even understand the concept of grouping up to make 4 as it is. On Banshee a couple weekends back, two girls were sent into the queue that the two of us were in. Four people. We moved all the way down so they would have the left side. Nope, they didn't even budge. That begs the question.. How much does it really help to have someone group 4-across when not all riders will listen and a good number would end up grouping themselves anyway? Quite often, we'll be asked by other guests if we want to fill in empty seats on the cycle in front of them. *shrug* -
Are you sure the outcry wasn't made in public?

Then there's no urban legend at all. Case closed!
