TheBeast1116
I saw a picture of one of the Cedar Fair people at Kings Island just 2 days ago. What forum was that? I think 2019 will be the year, for a new coaster!
Diamondback96
Yeah, we're most likely getting a coaster in 2019. The new coasters we've gotten under CF were released 5 years apart. Don't see why that would change, but...
MDMC01
I do appreciate the rotating list of rides of ERT (which I'll be able to partake in this year! ); but why not The Bat? I'd love to start my visit with that!
TheBeast1116
Does The Beast and Diamondback have single rider lines?
The Interpreter
They do not.
TheBeast1116
Is there any ride at Kings Island with a single rider one? Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to make plan.
The Interpreter
...not that I'm aware of. The park would rather sell Fast Lane....

MDMC01
Does The Beast and Diamondback have single rider lines? Diamondback used to, but then Fast Lane happened the very next year. SRL was the reason why I only waited 10 minutes for D-Back on Opening Day 2009.
Hoeter
There were also numerous occasions where I saw the single rider line on Diamondback abused, which also possibly lead to its discontinuation.
MDMC01
Agreed. SRL was sadly abused, which is why we can't have nice things! Anyone on here know of any other KI rides that had Single Rider Lines?
Oldiesmann
I remember one time a group got in the single rider line and got split up anyway, despite their complaints. That was fun to watch.

SRL was the reason why I only waited 10 minutes for D-Back on Opening Day 2009. No it didn't. FastLane happened two years later: Diamondback opened 2009, FastLane began 2011.
MDMC01
^You got me! I thought D-Back's Opening Year and Fast Lane were a year apart, but it's all good; time flies sometimes!

KIfan73
There's some work going on behind the train station...in the woods that looks very close (through?) the queue of WWC...Has there always been that much (of what appears to be) clear cut woods in that area? https://www.visitkingsisland.com/online-fun/webcams-7315_34349
Tanna
I saw that, myself, when looking for the razed buildings. Okay- people were kvetching about the lack of love for Rivertown, and there you go, something's happening. Now my mind is itching with the "What would Ouimet do?" Question. I'm just getting used to having an actual park attendee in charge, and not a nickel and dime man.
rhyano
I kind of wish for a rerouted White Water Canyon, I think that walk is worse than The Bat's!
BlondyRidesOn
It's kind of hard to tell, but by the looks of it on the webcam, the path the tracks go on seem to be covered in dirt. Hopefully it's just my eyes and the vantage point from the Tower. *Edit* False alarm. Just my eyes messing with me.
bjcolglazier
Whatever they're doing, I hope I like it. :-) Either way...it's nice to see them trying to make it better for us!
PKIVortex
I'll say it again. They are building a new Funnel Cake Stand. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Sure...but I don't think they are building it inside of the train loop in what was/is the woods? Something else going on there. Perhaps the dirt on the rails is just a temporary buffer for driving over the raised tracks. The only place I've seen any leveling of the road to the tracks is at both designated stops.
kingsislandfan1972
When I go to Kings Island in May, I am deciding whether to got to Action Zone first to ride The Bat and Banshee, or go to Rivertown first to go to Diamondback and The Beast.

I usually start in Action Zone then work my way clockwise around the park.
KIfan73
Lots of interesting posts on KI's Instagram this week.... Take a look at this! Spectrum91
Lots of interesting posts on KI's Instagram this week.... I'm having a hard time quoting it, but the "Opening Day 1972. #KingsIsland" from three days ago is technically incorrect. The picture depicts the grand opening on May 27, while the actual opening day was nearly a month earlier on April 29.
CoasterOhio
I'm not one to spread rumors... often. But they seem to be only showcasing nostalgia, and the wooden coasters.
Imperial79
I noticed that too. Even on their Facebook page yesterday, they posted a pic of the train with the canoe's. I hope they notice people do miss the theming.
upstop
I remember seeing that last picture displayed in front of the Shooting Star... Hey wouldn't it be a hoot to ride the Shooting Star again only at Kings Island? I'd rather see the Lost River come back to life, myself, and that would look really nice in the Coney Mall.
