That’s our “teaser campaign?”

good grief!

Granted, Woodstock Gliders/Snoopy’s Space Buggies got similar treatment before they were announced; the same can be said for Tropical Plunge.

*Edit: these were in person announcements

Before tomorrow's announcement, I just want to say this has been pretty fun speculation. I'll admit Planet Snoopy and Soak City aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but it's always nice to see the park getting something new even if it's something I personally won't ride. Here's hoping some day I can help contribute to the next major decoding thread.

I personally expect a waterpark or Planet Snoopy addition or both. Definitely not a new coaster (unless it's a kiddy one) seeing as Top Thrill Two is opening next year at CP. Of course my personal pick would be a return of phantom Theater but I hardly see that happening unless it was already in the works following 2022 anniversary season and was delayed for some reason causing them to scramble for something new for 2023 resulting in Adventure Port. So unless the "phantom project" of the delayed phantom Theater is actual fact, I don't see that happening this year.

Which leads me to believe that’s on par with this years “add”

Correct. Much like this year, when announcements get 24 hours' notice, it's usually a smaller addition that enthusiasts don't like and put shady quotation marks on but families enjoy. :P

Regarding Planet Snoopy, a little while back someone said a Camp Snoopy conversion could be the end of the Snoopy Boutique shop in the old skyride station. I disagree, that building is perfectly fine.

Personally, if anything current aside from the amphitheater is in the way of improvements, it’s Woodstock Whirlybirds. The station and queue structure takes up a good amount of space, and the track and support columns cause both height clearance and ground interference around the entire route.

The capacity isn’t great and it’s just kind of in the way around the main core of the area.

That's an interesting thought however, do you think there would be a high demand/fan base for phantom Theater at KD, Carowinds, of Wonderland? I mean it's almost like a cult classic here in Cincinnati but I don't believe any of the other parks ever had a "phantom Theater" did they?

Yes if it was a high quality, animatronic based ride like the original.   But I fear it would be screen based with shooting like Knotts Beary Tales remake

If Kings Island monitors these forums at all they know that the true fans of the original attraction would never settle for an all screen version with no physical sets or characters. There was an interesting POV posted on another page that shows how screens and physical props could be used together however a ride with this much nostalgia behind it needs to be done right or not at all.

Animatronics and Cedar Fair maintenance don’t coincide, unfortunately.

I would not be sad to see these go. While, I don't have kids, I just don't see any excitement of any kids going to ride them. I see more parents trying to drag their kids on it instead of the opposite way around.

Personally I think people looking at the SOB station are looking at the wrong side of the park.

I took a stroll through Planet Snoopy and noticed a man lift in the theatre.  It appears to be directly under the rail in the rafters holding the lighting, and all of the lights to the right of the lift appear to have been removed.

Stripping the building as preparation for demolition?  Maybe it will be reused?  Either way I think something is going on.

That's what I've been saying. Glad it was finally announced. It's going to be a great update to that part of the park

I made this concept of a potential Camp Snoopy re-theme and expansion. In this concept, the theater and barnyard area have been demolished in favor of a new indoor dining facility named "Peanuts' Saloon" with a stage show similar to Festhaus so they can still have shows in the Camp Snoopy area. A bit to the north of Peanuts' Saloon is Snoopy's Racing Railway, a near clone of the one at Canada's Wonderland. In addition, Woodstock Express and Flying Ace Aerial Chase were repainted to have more natural color schemes to fit the Camp Snoopy area, with Woodstock being painted yellow as a homage to the coaster's original color scheme when it was themed to Scooby Doo and Beastie. (The FAAC repaint might not be as likely since that was just repainted for 2022). Again, this is just a concept I made, so it may not be accurate to what the next Planet Snoopy expansion will be like.

Well, I got the FAAC repaint correct at least...
