FunTV still says Slingshot is the fastest ride at KI lol

Well, yeah, it's so fast that by the time you walk over to it, it's already over and gone.  Which ride in the park is faster than that??

When was the last time FunTV was even updated? From what I recall earlier in the 2023 season, they were still playing those videos on the construction of Mystic Timbers and Steel Vengeance that were shown back when those rides were new.

Is the team responsible for FunTV content around any longer?

Seems interesting that you're so quick to defend KI Comms all of the sudden and structure your posts in a way unlike you did before. We know you're being fed lines...just say you're speaking on behalf of KI Comms...we'll still share how the information is inaccurate despite what KI Comms tells you!

I believe FunTV is a corporate team and not in park comms.

OR… KI Comms can speak for themselves… maybe? Anyone? Bueller… Bueller… Bueller?

Would never happen. Too easily caught in error that way.

I don't see anything wrong with these. They don't really say that the rides are brand new, it's more of a general behind the scenes video

I don't really have an issue with the content being shown, I just think it's a bit strange they haven't updated their content much since then.

Fox 19 is at the park this morning. It’s odd to see Frank Marzullo walking around in front of International Street talking about Grand Carnivalle without a park representative to talk to.

Its a Friday, couldn't expect KI Comms to be out amoung the public....or maybe they thought it was already over since the news article was in past tense. Lol

Anyone else find this creepy and inappropriate?

Anytime someone asks a question it's either "send me a DM" or "send me your number in a DM."

Why doesn't communications actually answer publicly?

It’s a communication technique where the poster doesn’t want anything said over a public feed. We had to do so many assignments in college that mimic this.

Nope, he’s the spokesperson. It’s within his right to communicate with guests in that manner.

Many communication directors conduct communications in a similar manner.

My boss would flip if I did this as part of the marketing/communications team.

If I recall correctly, when Don was responding to posts, they were short and accurate. If you’re a park rep and you’re being attacked on social media, the best you can do is offer an answer. If they’re not satisfied then refer the upset person to the park’s “contact us” page which takes the conversation away from social media and makes it private.

Amanda asked a pretty simple question that doesn’t really require an answer via DM…. It’s not like she said that she had a terrible experience with a Park employee- in that instance, a DM would be appropriate. In this case, however she was just asking a question that a lot of other people have had.

Constantly asking people to DM you comes off as “I don’t want to answer the simple question on a social media platform, if you want to know the answer, you need to contact me directly.”

That's exactly what it means.  Or, I want to make it look like I'm willing to discuss your concern, but in a way that nobody can tell that I'm really just blowing you off.  Seen that too many times.

If someone has a concern that requires some discretion or privacy, sure, take it into a private conversation.  Otherwise, just answer the question, even if it's just PR spin that doesn't really address the concern..  Looks better that way, anyway.

But wait...we have a wait-list for employees!  You have to wait for a job at Kings Island!

*** Pay no attention to the fact that we open a ride for 30 minutes and close it to open another one for 30 minutes.  Your kids dont mind waiting in lines, do they?  We don't want to have wearing energy off by going from ride to ride so you will spend $30 on some blue ice cream for your family!

It looks like on Twitter, Amanda said that he didn't have an answer. Just said he would pass the feedback along.

Is that really DM worthy? Absolutely not. So it seems like he asks people to DM him because he doesn't want to be embarrassed that he doesn't know what's actually going on at the park.

So I got blocked on Twitter for asking a basic question and stating the answer should be public and not in a DM.

I understand staffing and budgets, but it is a bit concerning to see so many rides closing early.  My son was devastated tonight when we went to Flume (Race for your Life Charlie Brown), and it was closed at 9:08pm.  I also noticed that train has been closing by 8pm.  I get that some of these rides do not have large draws as the sun goes down.  But they need to at least post signs at the rides saying that these rides will close early.  Just seems like they are out to save a quick buck.  I don`t like them closing a portion of Planet Snoopy early either.  And if you want to get a drink with your drink plan after 9pm, forget about it.  The drink stand in front of the Tower was closed by 9pm.  The coke marketplace was open and packed tonight, but none of the Freestyle machines had any ice in them.

Load times at Viking Fury were terrible tonight because they only had two operators, instead of the usual three, so the person in the drive box had to go down the steps after locking the restraints, and then go back up after checking the restraints.  And Adventure Express has been down to one train operation this week.  Ride operations just seems to be a bit off right now.
