BryanJay
I personally won’t be able to go to haunt for a few weeks, but if anyone’s up there and would like to share if they got any new Phantom Theater references out (Like what the lantern activation does or props returning to Madame Fatale’s), I wouldn’t complain! I know by boo blasters they have the vehicle out with cut outs of characters sitting in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BeeastFarmer
Looking at the webcams, they are re"hearse" ing at the park with thick fog tonight. Check out the IS camera, it looks great!
RedSummit20
NYTE WALKERS is looking amazing this year!! Such a great show!!
gforce1994
I don’t like to complain but there was something that I discovered. If you take your Lantern into Madame Fatale’s during haunt you’ll get yelled at, even though there’s a sign indicating one can use the lantern. Timchat2
The choreography is really impressive with some incredible energy and commitment from the performers. I always look forward to see what they come up with.
BB1
Remember when the park actively said that haunt was not a children’s event? Well not anymore! I can’t even believe that I’m saying this but I saw infants, toddlers and more last night and it honestly somewhat tilted me. The fact that someone had an infant in line for a house (did the child go through? I’m not sure as they were behind me) was just really off putting. I feel like the “this event is for individuals 13 and over and is designed for mature audiences” statements in years past was basically hammered in and now kids are being brought up like it’s trick or treat? Look it’s your kids, you can do whatever you want, but the park just used to be so much better about the event. I want blood, I want more gore, I want for me to feel like I’m in a horror flick. I think that’s partially why I love Hooked is because it felt like old Haunt remastered. Having so many kids show up makes me feel like the park can’t venture too deep into it and I feel like scarezones could use more TLC. Case in point, I feel like the park needs to communicate this more to the general public that this is a mature event and that this is designed to be a horror event not a family event. That’s just my two cents, which is upsetting as I remember just how good Haunt was in years past and wants that level of theming/quality back in the park.
BeeastFarmer
Haunt has devolved into a family event since about 2017. No Boo necklaces, high passholder percentage, fighting kids and young adults. The park must see a financial advantage to attract families and dissuade the fighters as well as less drama to deal with. People still show up in droves, and in years past, vote it a top event in USA Today polls, as much as they can be trusted as relevant. I hope with the unified six merger they take a more horror driven approach and bring back some of the skeleton motifs we had in years past. I feel like if they want the bars to be filled then they should promote this as a mature event. Better yet, the fact that there are still unsupervised youth getting yelled at by security, which I saw last night even, just shows that the chaperone policy needs a stronger grasp. It just feels counterintuitive for the park to be "family friendly" for events like this but open up dozens of bars that are 21+ and try to have a "world class haunted event".
Tr0y
I think the main issue is that season passes are too cheap. I mean what can really be expected for $130 for an entire year of fun? Heck, for $130 that might get you at ticket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

I agree, but look at what happened when Salim attempted to raise prices. Cheap passes have been the model for a while and until they either change that model, or passholders drop off in significant numbers, they will continue. Usually, inexpensive things go well with my budget, but I really wish they would phase in a $200-$250 price target for a gold pass.

I was shocked a few years ago at Scarowinds, with entire families going through the haunts including their strollers. What?!?
Timchat2
At NyteWalkers tonight we had a toddler in the row behind us watching cartoons on a tablet at full volume throughout the entire show. Definitely a different crowd at Haunt nowadays.
Skyrider
Does anyone know if there is a certain reason the Haunt isn’t open the last Sunday before Halloween on Oct. 27th? It is open that day until 7pm.

KI only started that in 2022 and has always been just 3 Sundays (Columbus Day weekend and the weekend before and after that weekend). Probably staffing plays a role, and maybe the numbers haven't supported extending it.
BB1
If you’re planning on coming out tonight virtually every house is full staff. I’ve had really solid runs on slaughterhouse, st Michelle and killmart already. Tonight feels like a very strong improvement/great way to end out the 2024 season.

Over my past few Haunt visits this season, the park really has been running well. Full scare mazes, quick operates on most of the coasters, decently quick food service and a good amount of Fog. Definitely an inprovement in my books over the past few years. Plus I'm really enjoying the new cornered maze layout
